Coming (very) Soon: NEW L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Collection and More

So remember the other day when I showed you all of those new Maybelline 2015 products now popping up in drugstores? Well I'm about to do the same thing for L'Oreal! If you're a L'Oreal fan, you're really going to love my next few blog posts.

I thought I'd kick off this mini L'Oreal love-fest by showing an ad that two lovely readers both shared with me today. Thanks to reader @ginellemorin on Instagram for sharing a pic of this L'Oreal ad that she found in this week's US Weekly (and thanks to reader Lauren for emailing a pic of the ad too!):

Now you'll recognize the Setting Spray since either you saw my original sighting post of the display HERE, or you've already spotted/purchased it in stores (it launched at the beginning of November). But let's talk about the other items in this ad, shall we?

The lip color at the bottom of the ad is the new Infallible 2-Step Lip Color that is already available in other countries. This is a traditional two-step longwear lip color that has color on one end (doe-foot applicator) and clear balm on the other end. It's no surprise that L'Oreal appears to have discontinued their original 2-step Infallible Never Fail compacts (all shades are on clearance right now at various retailers) since they're probably making room for this new line.

If you would like to see some reviews of the new L'Oreal Infallible 2-Step Lip Color line from bloggers in other countries, you can click HERE, HERE and HERE (there are both cremes and shimmers in this line, as you'll see in those reviews). From what I gather, the texture has improved with this "next generation" 2-step lip color, but as someone who has never been a big fan of 2-step longwear lip colors, I'm really curious if the formula is dramatically different from the originals--maybe one of these will sway me!

(Sidenote: Rimmel is about to launch a new line of 2-step longwear lip colors called Provocalips here in the US (already available in the UK), so this appears to be a trend for 2015. Unlike the L'Oreal version, the clear topper in the Rimmel version is a gloss rather than a balm. Provocalips is receiving some very good reviews from across the pond--you can check out some UK reviews HERE and HERE. Apparently it's similar to Chanel Rouge Double Intensite.)

Back to this L'Oreal ad! So the remaining two products in the photo above are from the new Infallible Pro-Matte line. There is a new Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation which promises "up to 24HR wear" and "air-light texture," and a new Infallible Pro-Matte Powder which is described as an "up to 16HR shine-defy powder." Now THESE I am excited to try!

NOTE: There is also a new Infallible Pro-Matte Gloss collection, which I'll be showing you in an upcoming post.

If you have already spotted the lip colors, foundation or powder in your area, please comment below and let us know? Are you excited to see/try anything here?

Thanks again, @ginellemorin, for the great pic!

  1. I love new matte products since I can get super oily. I am excited to try the powder! I've not had great luck with setting sprays, although UD ones are the only ones I've tried. I'll have to look up some reviews of this setting spray and maybe try it out! Will definitely be on the lookout for the powder though!

  2. "Infallible Pro-Matte Gloss" sounds like an oxymoron to me. Maybe a product similar to Nyx Matte Lip Creams?

  3. So...anyone have any idea what it means to be a matte gloss? Wouldn't that just be a matte liquid lipstick?

  4. Definitely will be trying the lippie.. looks very similar to my HG Maybelline 24hr. I do wish someone would come out with a DS matte longwear liquid lipstick/stain (KVD everlasting, Sephora cream lip stain, Stila stay all day).. and no the NYX matte lip cream do not even come close.
I've yet to find a Loreal foundation I like, but crossing my fingers for this one.

  5. As a MAJOR fan of transfer proof lipstick (I tried Max Factor as a teen and I own exactly one "traditional" lipstick and that's a black) I LOVE THESE~ The one I bought is called Cherry Noir and on my lips in the right light it's so dark it can look black. It has amazing staying power and isn't very drying at all even without the shiny gloss side of the stick. LOVE IT will buy it again and I've worn it every day since I bought it and gotten a TON of compliments.
