Many thanks to two lovely readers for the following sighting. First up, reader Michelle (@chaliboo on Instagram) spotted the Instant Skin Retoucher display at her local Bed Bath & Beyond this week and shared lots of pics. Take a look:

I'm trying to remember if Revlon has ever done stick foundations before, but I'm drawing a blank! Do any of you remember some from the past? I get fuzzy when I think back to the 80s, but I know stick foundations were super popular at one point in the mid-late 80s and lots of brands were trying to compete with the wildly popular Max Factor Pan Stick (which was my holy grail foundation during that time). So maybe this isn't the first stick foundation ever from Revlon? Hum...
And here's a closer look at the balm (I enlarged/cropped Michelle's photo above):

I know what you're thinking: "How will this new multi-use balm compare to the CoverGirl TrueMagic Skin Perfector and the soon-to-be-released e.l.f. Studio HD Mattifying Balm?"
You're also probably thinking, "How will it compare to the Mally Poreless Face Defender and other similar high-end products?" Your guess is as good as mine for now, but what I personally am really hoping is that this balm doesn't contain any of the shimmer/sparkle that other Photoready products are known for (my fingers are crossed for that one!).
Have you spotted this new Revlon display in your area yet? Thoughts?
Thanks again, Michelle and Tara, for the great sightings and pics. I really appreciate it!

I wanted to try the Maybelline one, but the shade selection were too off for me. Revlon does better shade selection, so I hope there is match in there for me! The hunt begins!
ReplyDeleteG- am I correct in thinking you haven't reviewed any of the "matte balm" type products yet? I'm curious how they work in general
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to try the foundation stick. I had the maybelline foundation stick and used it to contour over my foundation and it blended beautifully. But when i went to set it with a cpntour powder, my makeup got all blotchy in that area. I tried it more than once and a friend of mine tried it also and the same happened, i was so disapointed. :/
ReplyDeleteohh i wonder if these stick foundations would be decent for contouring.
ReplyDeleteI hope there are darker shades in different stores! That caramel shade might be me, but it might not be. :(
ReplyDeleteHmmm ... Revlon really seems to stepping up their game! I like!! Though, I hope these are better than Maybelline's foundation sticks ...
ReplyDeleteMe too. I did not care for Maybelline's version. Ulta brand just brought out one with a green color correcting core that I haven't seen IRL yet.
DeleteIf I recall correctly from training, it's strictly a translucent matte.
ReplyDeleteYES!! Oooh, thank you so much! Totally made my day. :D
DeleteI loved the compact liquid they had going, so I'll look forward to this! I hope I can find it elsewhere, Bed Bath & Beyond is nowhere within easy driving distance.
ReplyDeleteThis is exciting! I'm hoping these will be around my area soon!
ReplyDeleteI love love love it over my makeup especially is I use powder to contour cause I'm in a hurry, glide this over my powder blush, highlight, contour, and even foundation that looks cakey and it literally makes everything so smooth, it blurs it into utterly perfection. I haven't fallen in love with a product this hard in a long long time..
