Spotted: NEW L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Set & Spray Makeup Extender Setting Spray

It's here! If you caught my "coming soon" blog post earlier this week, then you know that L'Oreal has just released their first setting spray. And thanks to two wonderful readers, I have pics of the display for you today, as well as a quick comparison to Urban Decay's All Nighter Setting Spray.

First up, reader Saira spotted this display at her local Bed Bath & Beyond this week and was nice enough to share some display pics with us:

L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Set & Spray Makeup Extender Setting Spray
(retail: $13.79 at Bed Bath & Beyond, 3.4 oz)

I know that the ad in the magazine that I showed you earlier this week indicated that the retail price of this spray was $17. Bed Bath & Beyond has very competitive prices to begin with when it comes to cosmetics, but I'm hoping that this product will be less than $17 at other retailers as well (if you've spotted it elsewhere, I would love to know what the price was in your area!).

I cropped and enlarged the side of the display with the tester (yay for testers!) above. They suggest that you spray this in an "X" motion on your face, followed by a "T" motion. Since this is a pump bottle (not an aerosol),  it should take about 4-6 pumps to cover your face (per the bottle info below).

Thanks to reader Amber (@ambajack on Instagram) for sharing this close-up of the bottle, which she spotted at her local CVS this week. Amber also shared a photo of the back of the bottle, which includes the ingredients list. Since so many of you here and on social media were wondering if this could be a dupe for Urban Decay's All Nighter (L'Oreal owns Urban Decay), here you go:

Water (Aqua), Alcohol Denat, Polyhydroxystearic Acid, PVP, Methyl Perfluorobutyl Ether, Methyl Perfluoroisobutyl Ether, Dimethicone PEG-7 Phosphate, PPG-3 Benzyl Ether Myristate, Caprylyl Glycol, Methyl Methacrylate Cross polymer, Poloxamer 407, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Cocamidopropyl PG-Dimonium Chloride Phosphate, Glycereth-5 Lactate, N,2,3- Trimethyl-2-Isopropryl Butamide, Ethylhexyl Isononanoate, Isononyl Isononanoate, Fragrance (Parfum), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract.

As you can see, the ingredients are NOT identical, but the first two ingredients (water and alcohol denat) are the same, and they do have other common ingredients.

I think I'll have to find that travel-size UD All Nighter I bought at Nordstrom Rack a few months ago and finally give it whirl so that I can do a proper comparison when I find the L'Oreal version locally! I'm not a big setting spray person (thus, the reason I haven't opened my UD spray yet) but I really do want to see how these two products compare.

Have you spotted the new L'Oreal setting spray in your area yet? Think you'll give this one a whirl?

Thanks so very much, Saira and Amber, for the great sightings and pics!

  1. This looks very spendy for a drugstore product.

  2. I like the looks of the bubbles on the back of the bottle indicating what this spray does, maybe that means other types of sprays are in the making!(?)

  3. The set spray at Victoria's Secret is what $9?? This Walmart crap is getting ridiculous. They need a reality check

    1. LOL! Leave it to Walmart to bring out the opinions :)

    2. You all are too funny. :)

I am pretty sure walmart and target will be the more affordably priced retailers for this. It is drugstore makeup in general, not walmart, that needs a reality check. The prices on some new releases just keep creeping up. But I feel the quality here and there has improved leaps and bounds.

  4. I cannot wait to find this spray. I have UD All Nighter and I really like it, but I don't use it every day, just for special events, like weddings. I am really curious to see how this one performs!

  5. UD's All Nighter never did anything for me, but their Chill Out setting spray works well for me. They also put a lot of statistics on the packaging like "89% said it made their makeup last longer... 94% said their makeup looked just applied hours later" ... and I noticed the Chill Out one had the higher rankings compared to the other sprays.. haha kind of funny... it also was better for my dry skin type since it says it's hydrating and cooling. But who knows, I wouldn't be surprised if all the variations of their setting sprays have practically the same ingredients. I know NYX makes a setting spray too.

    1. NYX has two, matte and dewy. I wanted to try the dewy until I read its no good on dry skin which is what I have and which seems to defeat the whole purpose. Confusing!

  6. It is kinda spendy for drugstore and honestly I cant even say I notice any real difference between the half dozen I've tried from HE to LE *shrug* .

  7. I hate denatured alcohol and don't care for film forming or inflammatory agents,

  8. I know it may be too soon to say but after I saw your "coming soon" post I spotted this at my local CVS and had to purchase it (thank goodness for coupons). I've been using it for the last two days and I have to say I am LOVING it! It holds up and compares to my UD All Nighter soooo well. I've been using NYX Dewy setting spray and I prefer the L'Oreal over it now :)

  9. I looooove the NYX dewy spray... it makes me glow morning noon and night.... but I'll try the Loreal when I run out just to be sure. Also, the NYX is only 10 $ but you get half of the amount as you would with the Loreal. I look at that stuff like what size is the bottle for the price? And Loreal's is 3.4 oz and NYX is only 2 oz. So it is about the same price per oz. Now I have to test Loreal and if I don't like it, I'll go back to NYX.

  10. I spotted the L’Oreal setting spray for a few cents shy of 12 on ebay (next cheapest was 5 cents shy of 16).
