HOT TIP: NYX, Revlon, Physicians Formula & Almay 40% Off at Ulta Starting Sunday, 9/28

It's BAAAACK! A few times a year, Ulta gives us the ultimate drugstore beauty lover's dream and offers several of our favorite brands for 40% off...all within the same week. If you're sad to see Ulta's 21 Days of Beauty come to an end tomorrow (9/27), this will surely cheer you up!

Many thanks to reader Sheila for sharing this pic of next week's Ulta ad:

All NYX, Revlon, Physicians Formula and Almay cosmetics 40% off
Valid 9/28 - 10/4 at Ulta (in-store and online)

Keep reading for details and tips for maximizing your savings during this sale...

The only exclusions for this sale are NYX kits that retail for $14.99 or more. Other than that, IT'S ON. And of course this sale is valid both in-store and on the Ulta site from 9/28 - 10/4.

I'm guessing that Ulta will also have another $3.50 off a $10 purchase coupon to go with this sale (the current coupon on their site expires on 9/27). So check the Ulta site on Sunday to see if there's a new coupon that you can use with this sale.

IMPORTANT: For those of you who are new to Ulta, you can use manufacturer's coupons on your beauty purchases at Ulta AND you can stack them with Ulta store coupons for even more savings. However, Ulta will deduct any manufacturer's coupons you have FIRST, so if your total dips below $10 after you use your manufacturer's coupons, you won't be able to use an Ulta $3.50 off a $10 coupon. For more info about that, read THIS COMMENT by Ulta on their Facebook page.

Scenario:
Let's say you buy two Almay foundations @ $9.99 each and one Revlon lipstick @ $7.99.
Total before sale: $27.97
Total after 40% off sale deduction: $16.78
Now let's say you have two $1 off Almay manufacturer's coupons and one $1 off Revlon manufacturer's coupon. Plus you have an Ulta store coupon for $3.50 off a $10 purchase.
Ulta will deduct your manufacturer's coupons first:
$16.78 - $3 in manufacturer's coupons = $13.78
Then Ulta will deduct their store coupon:
$13.78 - $3.50 = $10.28
Your grand total for $27.97 worth of makeup will be $10.28 after sale and coupon deductions.

Thanks SO much, Sheila, for the heads-up (and pic) about this sale next week!

  1. The last time they had a 40% off sale, they didn't release a coupon for $3.50 off. When I contacted Ulta about it, they said they would have another one the week after the 40% off sale. They wouldn't run both at the same time. 😱😭

    1. Aaah, thanks! I could have sworn they did, but maybe it was the time before that....or the time before that? I've posted about so many sales over the years that I can't keep them straight anymore! Lol!

  2. So exciting! Also, if you have points to use, I'd think this would be a good sale to use them!

  3. You can always find the $3.50 off coupon on Retail Me Not as well. They just need to scan it or you can enter the coupon code if you buy online.

  8. Hi G! Well, I just had a very frustrating experience with trying to order from the Ulta website. I live in Canada but do have a PO Box address in the US. I am capable to order from quite a few US merchants and enjoy shipping to my PO Box. Well, last night, after browsing the Ulta website for a whooping 3 hours, I was super excited as I was about to place my first order and benefit from this amazing NYX and Physicians Formula sale going on.
Well, I was unable to purchase anything from that site. I could not use either my Canadian credit card or my Paypal account since my billing addresses are in Canada. I was completely stuck.
Anything you suggest I could do? Unfortunately I am too far from an Ulta store too. I feel really sad because I really wanted to try (amongst lots of other things) the Vampy NYX lip pencils...
Anyway, you probably can't help me much there, but thanks for letting me vent my frustration... ;-)
And thanks for your wonderful site that I read on a daily basis! :-)
    Sophie from Montreal
