Lipstick League Question of the Week
What are your favorite types of facial cleansers? (Gel, self-foaming, cream, oil, cloths, etc.)
G's answer: I'm on a serious cleansing oil kick lately, and I don't see it letting up any time soon! DHC Cleansing Oil is still my holy grail (it works so beautifully on my super-oily skin), but there's another one I'll be reviewing soon that I really love as well.

Oooh, can't wait for your review! I'm hoping that more brands do jump on the cleansing oil bandwagon, though it doesn't seem like we've reached the "tipping point" yet where everybody has to make one... As for cleansers, anything that doesn't dry me out, which means foaming is usually a no-go, but otherwise it's more about ingredients than about texture.

ReplyDeleteYep, I'm an oil cleanser girl too! I've been using oil for about a year and a half and I love it. Don't see myself going back either since oils leave my skin slightly hydrated and let's face it, I'm only getting older here so I figure the more moisture I can retain, the better my skin will look in the long run.
ReplyDeleteI like cleansing oils but haven't really bought any -- the samples I've gotten I've loved, though. A lot of times I'll just use a mild bar soap, something with honey or calendula in it. There was a honey turmeric one I found ages ago at Pier 1 of all places and I loved it as it was mild, and then, poof, no more!
ReplyDeleteCurrently on the OCM kick as well. I use castor oil (cold pressed/cold processed) & coconut oil (organic/extra virgin). So far, so good. Think I still need to find the perfect measurements of each. But this far, I this this method is a keeper.
ReplyDeleteFor me Dr. Bronner's has been my HG since 2001, although I do live for trying new things so I have strayed but always ccome back to doc B...and always have a stockpile. I like the rose, lavender and the baby mild formulas best for facial skin. That paired w/ the Clarisonic Mia. In recent times I've tried the oil method, and really love it, but mostly when I'm wearing heavy duty make-up which isn't too often. For that I use the Josie Maran one. I never did ocm followed by make-up, only at bedtime as it just seems odd to me...but I think I'll give it a go when I'm not going anywhere important.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid I couldn't handle an oil cleanser or a tissue-off cleanser. I use Aveena Positively Radiant Cleanser -- it washes off, doesn't leave any film, is non-drying, and effectively removes makeup. My HG.
