The Wednesday Question

What was the last online beauty purchase you made? If you have received your order, were you satisfied with the turnaround time?

I took advantage of the Freeman 40% off sale that I posted about on 4/4 (sorry, it's now over) and I just got my order yesterday. I was very happy with the turnaround time--it took four days (including a weekend) to get to me. Can't wait to start testing everything I ordered for review!

    1. Actually I just remembered that I ordered Nail Vinyls the same time I ordered from QVC. It's from an Indie company and it's been 10 days and I still don't have them.

  4. I've made several this month. The most recent was Nordstroms and they have not even shipped my item.. it's been three days. That's pretty slow in my experience. They do have free shipping on any purchase though. The others were Avon (usually very fast, have never had a problem), and Sephora (fantastic speed every time I order). Other companies I've had good experiences with in the past are Walmart.com, Drugstore.com, ELF, and Buymebeauty.com. I frequently order online because there are not a lot of retail options in my area. The worst for me was MUA.. Took me almost two months to get my stuff.. the first box took a month and was completely destroyed when it arrived.. I mean I only got a plastic bag with a packing slip inside. Then it took over a week for me to even get anyone from the company to respond to me, and I had to resort to a nasty comment on their FB page threatening legal action for that to happen.. then three weeks for the second shipment. Once I finally got it all my items were intact. I've yet to risk an overseas order since then.

  5. I just ordered the OPI Sheer tint minis on Ebay. about 2 hours ago.

In the past 6 months I have purchased a lot of beauty products online which I never did before and I have been really happy overall with the turn around time on almost everything. I get a lot of orders shipped in from Las Vegas where I order on Friday and it's in my mail box on Monday.

  6. My last online purchase was the Electric palette on Urban Decay's site the night it was released. Shipping was pretty fast , it came in about three days after it was sent out. I am very happy with the order I placed because I was super excited for this palette and stayed up until 3:00 am just to order it and I have used nothing else but that palette in my looks abs even bought a backup :)

  9. The only online beauty purchase I've made is for the chocolate bar palette on HSN. Haven't received it yet because I'm a part of the backorder group.

  10. I ordered Glitter Food and a polish from Nail Pattern Boldness. It hasn't arrived yet, but since I received a shipping notice with a tracking number less than 24 hours after I ordered it, I can't complain - from here on out it's up to UPS :).

  12. I ordered some fragrances from drugstore.com this morning. They have (had?) a special offer - buy $75 of beauty products and get a gift bag of samples ( some look to be quite large) worth $125.

  13. I ordered a set of Pueen stamping plates from amazon, and had them in 2 days. Gotta love Prime :) Before that, I ordered some nail polish from Pop Culture Cosmetics. Now, i understand that they're an indie polish company, but it took them 10 days just to ship my order. Luckily, they're based in Florida, so actual shipping time should only be a few days. I hope the polishes are outstanding, or I won't be inclined to order from them again. I don't like waiting.

  14. The IT naturally pretty palette. Got it when it was on sale and I'm loving it.

  15. I'm not much of an online shopper, so the last thing I ordered was back at the end of February, when I purchased a jumbo stamping plate from Ebay. I'm really happy with my purchase-the images are cute. really big and deeply etched, and you can't beat the $5 price! The only drawback is the 3 week+ turnaround time because they were shipped from Asia.

  16. I'm another waiting on the chocolate bar palette from HSN. I'm not at all upset with the wait since it's such a great deal and I felt lucky they allowed us to back order.

I don't buy much makeup online, maybe a half dozen orders a year. The last couple orders were Tarte and Urban Decay and both had fast shipping, a week or less.

  17. I just got the Lorac SummerGlo palette in today, shipping was free & took only 2 days. I'm also waiting for a couple of my Ulta 21 days of beauty orders.

  18. Last month purchased some items from Drugstore.com because I cannot find these things in b&m stores. Black Radiance Shine Control Primer (shout out to G for recommending this, it's the best drugstore primer that I have tried), Alpha
Hydrox AHA Extra Strength Foot Cream, Smith's Rosebud Salve and Ardell Lash & Brow Growth Accelerator. I had made 3 different online orders that day, and this was the first shipment I received. I think I had it within 3 or 4 days after placing my order. So, I was pretty happy.

  19. I ordered a whole lot from Elf during their last 50% off sale (4/01). Just a day later I got a mail saying my order had shipped, and eight days after I'd ordered the package arrived. And I thought it was gonna take forever because everyone will order during their sale, so I was really thrilled! So far I've ordered twice from Elf and both packages were delivered rather quickly. Thumbs up. (Although I haven't opened the packages yet, so I don't know if anything was destroyed. But I don't think so.)

  20. I splurged on some Yaby foundation and concealer. I had received a sample foundation from Ipsy and fell in love with it. It's pricey but applies and wears like a dream.

  21. Oops. Forgot to mention I purchased my Yaby cosmestics from Camera Ready Cosmetics and they shipped it out the same day I placed my order. I received the product in about 3 business days which exceeded my expectations!

  22. I bought a bunch of hair products from Sally Beauty for the B1G1F sale. I haven't gotten them yet. I'm doing the Curly Girl hair method and am always looking for cheap products to try since I haven't found my perfect products yet. I think I got 3 mousses, 1 gel, 1 leave-in conditioner and 1 deep conditioner. Before that I bought a bottle of Kenra clarifying shampoo on ebay to help with the hard water in my apartment. I really need to get a place with a water softener.

  23. I tend not to buy a whole lot online since I like to see most makeup I buy beforehand. Most recently was probably some tinted lip balms from a store called EpicallyEpicSoap on etsy. She has cool flavors, like Shamrock Shake, Red Velvet Cake, Chai, etc., that are natural and really good.

  24. The last online purchase I made was on Hautelook for the Nude 'Tude palette and I love it so much, it's my go-to neutral palette.

  25. I just purchased the Paula Begoun Natural Face Cleanser, I am 60 years old with combo/oily skin, and I have a couple of spots on my face, which I have to see a dermatologist about! The cleanser is wonderful and removes everything gently, and thoroughly without upsetting the ph balance of my skin! It washes and rinses easily, and does not leave the face feeling dry or irritated, which is the ultimate I can ask for! This is definitely my holy grail cleanser!
