Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream (which is an acne-treatment BB cream that contains 2% salicylic acid) has been available in both the UK and Australia for a while now, and for some reason I didn't think that Maybelline was going to bring this one over to the states (I try not to get my hopes up about the intriguing Maybelline products that are available in other countries--see Baby Skin Pink Transformer SPF35, available only in Asia, as just one example). But guess what? Dream Pure BB Cream has come to the US!
Thanks to several of you for letting me know that this product is now starting to surface in the permanent display at Walmart--I'm sure it's only a matter of time before you start to see it elsewhere. Longtime reader and photo-contributor Abi, who spotted this display at Walmart this week, was nice enough to share pics--take a look!

The tube reads:

UPDATE: Thanks to two lovely readers, I have close-up photos of this product to share with you. First up, from reader Caitlin (@caitlin_nathelle on Instagram):
As you can see, there is no mention of SPF in this product (the UK and Australian versions contain SPF15). Photos of the back of tube, thanks to reader Mia:

Are you a fan of acne-fighting ingredients in your face makeup? If so, do you think you'll give this one a shot?
Thanks so much, Abi, Caitlin and Mia, for the great sighting and pics. I really appreciate it!
Even thought there's a sizable jump between Medium/Deep and Deep, I applaud Maybelline for even carrying a deep option. That shade in the regular Dream Fresh BB matched me perfectly.
ReplyDeleteI get giddy when we actually get the cool products the UK get (why can't we get the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation?). I may try this out this summer when my skin isn't so dry.
ReplyDeleteJust a tip, you can get rimmel wake me up foundation on asos.com!! I absolutely love it :)
DeleteThanks for the tip, Kate!!
DeleteI randomly found one wake me up foundation in Walmart in the US.. I have no idea what it was doing there lol
DeleteI hope the medium/deep shade doesn't have a orange tint like the normal one :(
ReplyDeleteYesyesyesyesyes! I need to get my grubby little makeup-hoarding paws on this! I've been envying the international makeup addicts out there for months.
ReplyDeleteI don't need another BB cream in my life... at least that's what I keep telling myself. But I know I'll be grabbing one to try out when I see it in store. Thanks for the update, G!
ReplyDeleteI don't get it. This is meant for people with acne /. Acne prone skin but is sheer coverage? Seems pointless
ReplyDeleteGood point, lol.
DeleteWell, I can see the use for it. I'm not good at preventing breakouts but I only need light coverage, so this would be good for me (in preventing them).
DeleteWish they launch in india soon! This range looks wow!
ReplyDeleteThat's so odd, considering this came out in Australia a while ago, and you guys are always getting beauty products before us! I absolutely love this BB cream though, and IMO with oily skin it's MUCH better than the original. Obviously it doesn't last as long as a foundation (even if you set it) but I absolutely love how smooth this feels on the face.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to give this a try, even if I /hated/ the original. Maybe this one will be better for me... I can dream.
ReplyDeleteHAHHHHA "I can dream"...that the DREAM pure bb will work I geddit I geddit XD
DeleteSomeone on MUA wrote this was better than Oxygen WoW! by Benefit so I have to have this. I loved Oxygen Wow! but the bismuth broke me out
ReplyDeletei cannot wait for this. foundations/creams usually make me break out, so I love whenever products like this come out. A sightings map would be awesome!
ReplyDeleteNot impressed with the color range. :-(
ReplyDeleteLooks good, but it's pointless for me to use a BB with no sunscreen.

ReplyDeleteI love the original bb cream from maybelline, so one with acne fighting ingredients in it is even better! I just wish they had a wider variety of darker tones though, it's minimal changes for the paler shades, but there's just one option for african american girls who have a wide variety of deep tones!
ReplyDeleteoooo I will so be on a look out for this!
ReplyDeleteOMGAH!!! I just looked at the lip products that are in the link from another country... I want bold matte lip colors!!!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if it is matte finish... I was thinking about getting rimmel matte bb cream but I'be never used liquid foundation or bb creams, only Powder mineral foundation *Sigh*
ReplyDeleteThis looks awesome! I just hope the lightest shade isn't too orange, it seems almost everything is too warm for me :(
ReplyDeleteThis is something I'd be interested in trying! My acne prone skin responds well to salicylic acid. I've tried 2 foundations that contain SA, and they both seemed to help keep oiliness at bay. However, my collection of face base products is exploding. >.<;
ReplyDeleteI can remember Goo Roo Beauty always was such a fan of this and I couldn't get my hands on it. I look forward to trying. I know it's always such a pain when products with that contain SPF are then subject to FDA approval so many companies choose not to see then in the US because they have to meet those standards or create another formula without SPF to avoid compliance. Thanks for such a great blog.
ReplyDeleteI think I found my HG bb cream at Big Lots for $2.80! Its epielle (like my HG face wipes), and it is made in KOREA! Spf 20, medium cov., lightweight, matte finish. It comes in 2 shades, and contains glycerin, niacinamide, allantoin&other ingredients. The day after I purchased I drove 30 miles for back ups!!!! I may have found my HG for the summer -and under 3 dollars!!!!
