The other night, my pal Amber of Beauty Junkies Unite gave me the heads-up about this brand new collection from L.A. Girl, and she mentioned that she thought these might be dupes for the Too Faced Melted Liquified Longwear Lipsticks. I am so agreeing with her about that--check it out:

NEW L.A. Girl Glazed Lip Paint Collection
(retail: $4 each, available in six shades)
From the L.A. Girl website:
Making their much anticipated debut, Glazed Lip Paints give the intensely pigmented appearance of a lipstick, with the ease and glossy finish of a lipgloss. Glazed collection includes 6 of the most sought-after, trendsetting colors this season while providing long lasting, hyper glossy, ultra rich color to lips. Extreme bright colors cool and nourish lips with vitamin E and peppermint oil.
The new L.A. Girl Glazed Lip Paints are available for purchase NOW on the L.A. Girl website (shipping appears to be flat-rate $8 via UPS) but they are not yet on the Cherry Culture website as of the time of this post.
The shades from left to right in the photo above are: Babydoll, Hot Mess, Blushing, Tease, Pin-up and Coy. Going on these photos alone, these seem to resemble the Too Faced Melted lip colors, even down to the shade range. But for $4 each, you can get the entire collection for almost the price of just one Melted lip color from Too Faced (retail: $21 each).
I know that Rite Aid often gets new L.A. Girl collections, so I'm HOPING these pop up at Rite Aid locations soon. In my area (San Diego) I really only see L.A. Girl products at Rite Aid, indie beauty supplies and Asian markets, so I'm going to be on the hunt for these, for sure.
Thanks again, Amber, for this tip (and for the new lemmings!).
UPDATE: Many thanks to my pal Rai of Glam Morena for sharing this link to swatches of the entire collection. Wow, look at that pigmentation!

I just ordered 3 of these and one of the Too Faced ones lol!
ReplyDeleteSo excited for these to show up. Fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking about (ahem, lemming) the Too Faced Melted lippies today so these drugstore dupes are GREAT news! Probably gonna need at least three...
ReplyDeleteSaw a huge LA Girl permanent display at my Kmart. Anyone with a Kmart should check. Didn't see these but I'll check next time I'm there...
ReplyDeletefree shipping on $25 on the LA Girl website...woot woot
ReplyDeleteDo you think you might set up an interactive map for these?
ReplyDeleteThose swatches are gorgeous! I hope these come to Rite Aid.
ReplyDeleteLip Paints makes me think of OCC lip tars. I wish there was a dupe for those!!
ReplyDeletei just ordered every color...lol!! I'M SICK!!!
ReplyDeleteWill you compare these? I'd be so grateful if you did :D
ReplyDeleteWhile the Too Faced ones are $21 I hope these dupes possess that same quality cause I sure will like the dark red one :)
ReplyDeletethey have peppermint oil :( nooooo!! mint is bad for your lips, it sensitizes and causes dryness.. I was so happy to see this, but i'm not so happy about the peppermint. Agree with Sarah S., pls compare these plsssss, need your opinion on this
ReplyDeleteI read a comparison that these are NOT like the Too Faced melted lipsticks, but more like OCC lip tars.

ok random and belated but I just discovered that Hot Topic (And hottopic.com) sells this brand!
ReplyDeleteI just bought 3 of these today at a beauty supply I go to that carries some LA Girl products. They were only $3 ea there. I got Etude, Daring, & Tempt. I wish I also picked up Coy now that I'm seeing swatches. They're really pretty & pigmented, however I wish they had a doe foot applicator, because they come in like a squeezy tube with a slanted top that has a hole in it. The problem with that type of packaging for a product like this is that there's basically no neat way to apply these, like really I don't see having any choice but to go back in with a lip brush or if you have a disposable doe foot applicator. I also wish they'd have refrained from adding the peppermint oil-I really don't like smells/flavors in lip products, though I'm finding these somewhat tolerable-we'll see how it goes.
ReplyDeleteApparently this collection is sell in my country(Chile) :). Though I'm still not sure if they RIGHT NOW sell them, I hope so because I want to try at least one of these :). Here they cost like 6 dollars but it's still razonable for the fact that they come from the other part of the continent lol.
