Lipstick League Question of the Week:
Do you switch up your skincare routine with the change of the seasons? How are you preparing for the cooler weather?
G's answer: Since I have very oily skin, there are just a few things I change when the weather cools down. I use a slightly heavier night cream and nighttime eye cream to increase moisture for the coming day. My daytime moisturizer doesn't change in the winter (unless I'm testing something for review) but I do find that I don't need to wear face primer during the day in cooler months. I also find that I exfoliate a bit more frequently in the winter. Living in San Diego though, my sunscreen doesn't change regardless of the season!

I don't change a lot, but I do go for a heavier moisturizer in winter, and wear a bit more makeup to counter the dullness that creeps in once the heat is on and the air gets really dry.
ReplyDeleteSkincare for the face, no. Now is the time I must bust out the hand cream though. The slightest change in weather dries my hands to the point of cracking and even bleeding! Then when they heal I'm left with "hand dandfuff" and in major need of exfoliant followed by intense overnight treatment with cotton gloves. Sorry if that was a gross-out, but it's true and all I can think of, as my face is super oily year round and so I don't need to make any changes in my routine. Cosmetic wise, only in the winter do I really wear eyeshadow, not worth the effort in the summer when it only slides off in like 20mins, at least in the winter I can go like 3-4 hrs! Lol
