The Lipstick League – week of 6.24.13

Visiting La Jolla during our "staycation" this week

Lipstick League Question of the Week

When it comes to nail care, how often do you moisturize your cuticles? Do you prefer balms, creams or oils to get the job done?

G's answer: My holy grail cuticle moisturizer is still Badger Cuticle Care, which I absolutely adore. But I've been testing out CND Solar Oil for an upcoming review and I have to say,  I'm enjoying that quite a bit as well. I find that products specifically made for cuticles (vs. regular hand or body lotions) really do work best for me since I use a lot of acetone and need extra, extra moisture in that area.

  2. I miss La Jolla~! SD is so great for stay-cationing.

I use Burt's Bees Lemon Cuticle Butter, which I've been using forever. It works beautifully and smells divine.

  3. I work with my hands a lot.. so cuticles are always in a state of repair. I remove my makeup with evoo, and always make sure to rub some into my hands while I'm at it. If things get really bad I reach for neosporin. I find chapstick is a great on the go protector especially in the winter. I also keep a pair of angled nail clippers handy and keep any hangnails or any bit of skin that sticks up nipped off asap.

  4. Pretty pix! I use all kinds of stuff. I found some essie apricot cuticle oil on clearance so I have a stash of that and use that from time to time. Also the Burt's Bees Lemon Cuticle Butter and Burt's Bees Res-Q Ointment. C.O. Bigelow salves, too. Plain old lip balm sometimes.

  5. I will be trying that badger balm out- my poor hands are in gloves all day
Right now I've been using Watkins coconut lotion bc it's pretty thick but my cuticles have a mind of their own :-/
Once a week application of a cuticle remover cream + push back& clipping the "bad" parts helps alot
