It's Friday and you know what that means! Time again for me to share with you some Nouveau Cheap-approved affordable beauty products that come to a grand total of five bucks. Keep reading for this week's picks...
Suave Double Dutch Apple Detangler (retail: $1.99 at Walgreens and wherever else Suave products are sold). Who says you need a fancy "adult" detangler just because you're a grown-up? I've written about "shopping the kid's aisle" at the drugstores here on the blog before, but I'd like to take this opportunity to share with you my current favorite detangler by Suave. Granted, my new Wet Brush is a miracle for getting out tangles, but if there's an extra-difficult tangle I'm trying to work out (or I don't have the Wet Brush close by), Suave Double Dutch Apple Detangler is such a lovely product to use to help loosen up tough knots. It doesn't leave any type of greasy residue behind, but it does help make my hair feel softer. And you gotta love the sweet and tangy scent of green apple.
Black Radiance Moisturizing Lip Stains (retail: $2.99 on the drugstore.com website, Walgreens and wherever else Black Radiance products are sold). I reviewed one of these gloss/lipstain hybrids back in 2010 when they first came out, and I was seriously impressed with it. These contain shea butter and are quite hydrating with a beautiful, sheer color payoff. I'm not sure why they didn't take off (I've noticed that the color selection has been reduced to two shades--I know there were more than that when they were first released) and that's a bummer considering how nice they are. I can get about four hours of wear from there and they leave a nice, subtle stain behind after the shine has worn off. I think they're definitely worth a look!
That's it for this edition of Five Buck Friday. See you next week for more budget-friendly recs!

My daughter uses that detangler, and I also just got her a Wet Brush based on your review. THANK YOU FOR MAKING OUR MORNING ROUTINE SIGNIFICANTLY LESS DRAMATIC!!
ReplyDeleteOoh that BR lip stain looks very nice and creamy.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is 13, but when she was about 6-7, I used to use that Suave detangler on her. One day she came home and said that her hair "funked up the whole bus!" Haha! The smell can be very strong for those sensitive to smells.
ReplyDeleteCan I just say how much I love that graphic? Cute!
