The Lipstick League – week of 1.21.12

If you’re in So. California, join Lipstick League members we heart this on February 10th at Beauty for The Beasts; an event they’re co-hosting at Cristophe’s Salon that benefits animal rescue. Book a service (like a $40 blow-out) or just come for the gift bag - they’re worth $200! It’s going to be a good time for a great cause.
Lipstick League Question of the Week

What is your favorite face cleanser - foaming, creamy, soap, whatever - and why?

G's answer: Ever since I reviewed it back in July, I keep going back to Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser, which is a foaming formula. It truly is gentle on my skin, it removes all of my makeup, I love the smell, and it's a great value to boot (the bottle is huge!).

Links of the Week

Lipglossiping - continues exploring the brighter side of lipstick with the latest in her red lip series featuring a beautiful cherry red from Clarins.

  1. You are probably sick of hearing it, but extra virgin olive oil, every day. I do give a quick wash with my shampoo a couple times a week in the shower when I shampoo my hair, and then exfoliate with a terry towel. Other than that, soap never touches my face anymore. Skin has never looked better.

  2. My old-school favorite was Neutrogena Deep Clean Invigorating Ultra-foam Cleanser. Hayden P. Was the spokeswoman for it. I have a thing for foam. Not sure if Neutrogena sells it on its site, but I found it in Nordstrom Rack a few years ago. Currently, using Bare Escentuals Rare Minerals Purifying Facial Cleanser. I really love it. Since CVS has had a few Simple Skincare deals, I have their Refreshing Facial Wash Gel to try. I haven't used a gel cleanser in years, so I am excited to try. When I wash my face in the shower (when I am under time constraints), I use Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser. It is gentle enough for the face.

  3. I actually don't have a favourite cleanser. I do prefer foaming cleansers overall though because I feel that, for the most part, it removes dirt and oil better on my skin (blemish-prone combination-oily). But I have used cream and gel cleansers that have done the job just as well. Overall, I just buy fragrance-free and sensitive-skin cleansers that are cheap.

  4. Ohhh! Nothing beats my Olay Gentle Foaming Face Wash! I use the one for sensitive skin even though my skin isn't sensitive. It removes all eye makeup and doesn't strip my skin. I wouldn't even call this a foaming wash, because it really just lathers a little. It doesn't get foamy. Super affordable and it probably takes a year to use up a bottle!
