Spotted: New L'Oreal Visible Lift Color Lift Blushes

Whew! I've got a lot to say about this new blush collection from L'Oreal and I haven't even seen these babies in person yet!

But first: I received several pics of this collection and I'm so very sorry that I can't share them all here. I've said it before, but I just want to reiterate that this time of the year is extremely chaotic and I always find myself behind in posting new product pics, no matter how hard I try to stay on top of it. So again, I apologize if you were nice enough to share some pics and you don't see them here. It's absolutely my fault and I hope you'll forgive me.

Reader Eymi shared some pics of this display and managed to capture something that I previously didn't know about these new blushes. Take a look:

As you can see, the Color Lift Blushes are part of the Visible Lift family (the foundation is not new).

If you're lucky enough to find a display that has this tear-pad coupon, you'll snag $2 off your purchase. Yay!

After sharing sneak-peeks of this new blush collection (before we even knew the name), I was left with the impression that these were going to be powder blushes and that they were matte in nature. Well boy was I wrong: on both accounts!

Eymi purchased one of these blushes and confirmed that they actually have the same type of "spongy" texture as the Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blushes (not super surprising since L'Oreal owns Maybelline). And if you enlarge these photos, you'll see that every shade in this display contains a good amount of sparkle. So yeah, they're not matte and they're not powders!

Also, there MAY be more shades in this range, but there are six in this particular display (if you've seen more shades out there, please do let us know!).

Have you spotted these new blushes in person yet? I'm hearing from several of you that they've surfaced at Rite Aid, Target, Walmart, CVS, Walgreens and Ulta, and I think Kmart too.

I'm still looking forward to trying these (despite the fact that I was hoping they were matte powders) because I'd like to know if they have better staying power than the Dream Bouncy Blushes, which didn't hold up too well on my super oily skin.  I'm a sucker for that bouncy texture!

Thanks so much, Eymi, for the great pics and info. I really appreciate it!

  1. Hmm. Bummer. I find that texture very tricky to work with.
And I agree with the too much sparkle comment.

  2. I saw them in person.. extremely bright (but if they are a similar formula to the bouncies that might be a good thing), super sparkly, and really small for a blush IMO. Looked more like eyeshadow than blush.

  3. The glitter look no bueno, but I dunno, maybe when u blend it out its more forgiving...

I am gonna purchase one, also, to compare to the bouncy blush. For the same reason.

  4. I saw these at Harmon's last week in the same display with the foundations and the tear off coupon so I bought two to try.The rose gold interested me the most since I have a mild obsession with everything rose gold but more so because I don't know if you can tell in these pics but on the front of the packaging it actually says there are tourmaline pearls in the formula. The other color I got was the nude lift. This is a beautiful color in person. They are all "shimmery" in the package but swatched they have decent color payoff and dont come across as "glitterbomb" but more like a blush/hilighter combo(like when you layer a hilight over your blush)They do have a similar texture/feel to the bouncy blushes but creamier and almost mousse like. Also the size seems small but I think the packaging is deceptive. They are 4grams which for comparison is larger than the small tarte blushes you get in the kits or 1gram less than a NYX blush.Speaking of NYX blushes the rose gold lift is a near perfect dupe for NYX pinched.

  5. I bought these at Walgreens the other day and returned them the next day. I changed my mind and they didn't appeal to me. They were bogo half off. Retail price is $12.99. I have way too many blushes in my collection. Lol

  6. I had a credit from Drugstore.com and spotted these bogo 50% off there last week, so I ordered a couple knowing nothing about them. They should arrive tomorrow. I was getting excited to see them when they arrive, but now I'm not so sure after reading about the sparkle and glitter! I love the Dream Bouncy Blushes though, so hopefully these will work for me.

  7. I find that packaging to be such a turn off. It looks tacky and....cheap. I would also expect more matte shades considering that these are targeted for older women.

  8. I totally was thinking they would be matte and powder products, but since they aren't, I'm going to need to see some rave reviews before I pick these up! Ehhh, kinda disappointed...:(

  9. I was really hoping these would be matte, or at least a satin finish... but, whoa -too much glitter and too expensive.

  10. Yay for creamy texture and yay for sparkle! Boo for the price tag! Gonna want a coupon for sure! At my age I am always interested in lift!

  11. These sound interesting! I will proceed with caution though and wait for the reviews to come out. The colors are pretty!

  12. In my opinion they're more of a creamy texture... I wanna say they were even labeled as a "creme" but can't remember for sure.

  13. Saw these at HEB. Took a pass on them!

  14. I saw these at my Walgreens and actually picked them up and thought about purchasing them till I saw the price tag. I know of way too many other brands that have a more affordable price point for drugstore products

  15. I went into a Walgreens that had them. they were 12.99 and I didn't seen any coupons. Now that I know that are that spongy texture and not powders, I'll skip it.

  16. I actually found these before Xmas, and had a REAAAAAL hard time resisting something that looked so pretty and was called Rose Gold and Peach Gold.

I, too, thought they were powders -- assumed that because they were so small, that they'd be really PIGMENTED powders. Totally wrong.

They are extremely silky cream blushes -- until you'd mentioned it, I forgot about the "bouncy" blushes by Maybelline, and these are somewhat similar (I found the Maybelline blushes highly unpigmented and returned them immediately). These are actually way silkier in feel to me.

The pigmentation is far better with these (again, my experience), and they are definitely not as pigmented as they appear in the pan. As someone pointed out, these are like a hybrid blush/highlighter combination, and leave a beautiful sheen, not sparkle, on my cheeks.

I really thought I'd hate these, since I hated the Maybelline version, but I've been using these everyday, surprisingly. The difference in the two shades I purchased is minimal, really, with the obvious being that Peach Gold is warmer, and Rose Gold is a bluer pink.

While I can't speak for the other shades, I really do love the 2 I have (though at the price point, I want to choke L'oreal ... there were no tear pads at my display, and these are tiny for almost $14).

    HTHS! :-)
