Spotted: New Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream SPF20 for Combination to Oily Skin

This is probably one of the most anticipated launches of the year for me personally. As you've probably noticed, I have reviewed quite a few drugstore BB creams in 2012, but not the Garnier BB Cream. Why? Because I've had countless people tell me that it does not work for oily skin (my skin is super oily).

BUT, I heard a while back that Garnier released a "for oily skin" version of their BB Cream in Europe, and I've been waiting...and waiting...for it to land in the US. So I want to give a huge thanks and a virtual hug to reader Melissa for sharing these pics of the display that she spotted at Walgreens recently. It's landed, and it comes in THREE shades!

New Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream SPF20 for Combination to Oily Skin in Light/Medium, Medium/Deep and Deep
(retail: $13.99 at Walgreens)

If you enlarge the above photo, you'll see that this new Combination/Oily Skin version comes in three shades: Light/Medium, Medium/Deep and Deep. (I can't 100% confirm this but I think that Garnier also added a Deep shade to their original BB Cream as well, which previously only came in Light/Medium and Medium/Deep).

Also, there's a tear-pad on this display with $1 off coupons.

Keep reading for a close-up pic of the box and more info....

You can be sure that I'll be purchasing this product for review! I'm so excited to try it. Have you spotted it in your area? Are you a fan of the original?

Thanks so much, Melissa, for the great sighting and confirmation that this has landed in the US!

  1. I have a slight obsession with the Garnier BB cream. It's a staple :) I hope that you test this out!

  2. I'm excited for this too! I tried the original Garnier bb cream. I loved the finish of the bb cream and it didn't break me out, but it wouldn't hold up on my face despite using primer and setting spray.

  3. I was sent the light/medium a couple of weeks ago and it's still super pink - I have yellow undertones. It's really not much different from the original formula and I still end up oily, just not as much

  4. I saw this tonight, while in Walgreen's for the Maybelline metallic color tattoos, and was thrilled! But it doesn't come in a shade light enough for me. (Hopefully that will change...)

  6. Saw it today at Rite Aid.. picked it up, but put it back before I checked out. At $13 I decided to wait for some reviews first.

  7. Darn it. Someone posted on the You Tell Me page that these were coming in a *lighter* shade but this looks to be the same as the original. Light/Medium is just too dark for me, as well as the original formula being slightly greasy. I was looking forward to this. :( I know a lot of people complain that cosmetics like this don't come in dark enough shades, but I definitely find they don't come light enough.

  8. I'm interested but afraid light/medium won't be light enough for my uber-pale skin :(

  9. Funnily enough, just today I found my barely used tube (in the original formula) in my stash of products I rarely use. Although I have dry/combo skin, I found this Garnier BB made me really oily/shiny! Not a good base product, and I think I remember it breaking me out :( For Christmas I ordered myself a Skin 79 BB cream - excited to try out the "real deal" :)

  10. While I was initially excited about a formula for oily skin for the Garnier BB cream range (and I think it's great they added a deeper shade for those with darker skin tones) it doesn't look like they added a *lighter* shade for those fairer than Fair/Medium (which really isn't all that fair) so it will *still* be too dark for me.

I wish makeup companies would realize that BOTH extreme ends of the spectrum are underrepresented... that means the ultra-fair out there, too.

  11. I would like the original, but I wish they had a lighter shade...the light/medium is just too dark on me...too bad because I really like the texture and finish!

    1. They now have a "fair/light" shade in the original formula - I just found it at CVS today! It is great but it would be nice if they had it in the new formula as well.

  12. I'm in Australia and we've had this out for about 6 months. I have a LOT of high-end AND drugstore foundations and I've got to say this product is a holy grail for me and my oily complexion! This DOES contain alcohol, and is a fantastic dupe for Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua.

I'm a long-time subscriber of yours and respectfully won't attempt to link but if you're interested, I've reviewed it on my YouTube channel and couldn't rave more about this!! Give it a try- can't wait to hear what you think!!

  13. I'm excited to try this one too! After seeing your post about the new CG Outlast Stay Fabulous foundation, I picked some up and I am in LOVE! I too have super-oily skin and, honestly, wouldn't have given the display a second glance if it hadn't been for your post. That stuff is nothing short of amazing!!! With my usual foundation (pur minerals 4-in-1 pressed powder) I'm a grease ball before lunch and usually have to blot every 2 or 3 hours. The CG makeup kept me virtually shine free ALL day and I didn't even use powder! Incredible! And the finish is just fantastic! My skin hasn't looked that flawless and poreless since I as a kid (I'm 35)! Thanks SO much, G, for cluing me in about great new products!

  14. My first thought would be "a BB Cream for oily skin? Must have". But I think I will exercise patience and wait for reviews.

  15. Well I am ECSTATIC that they came out with a deeper shade.

I was starting to feel a little dejected. I have found locally the Rimmel Londen BB Cream, Revlon BB Cream, Lumene BB Cream and even the Palmer's BB Cream and they are all for much lighter shades.
The only BB Cream for brown girls so far is the Maybelline but that is a oil pit! LOL!
I am waiting for the Iman BB Cream to be launched and I cannot wait to get my hands this!

I will be stalkng my area drugstores...
    Thanks for the heads up!

    1. You'd think Palmer's would be a little darker geez.

  16. I'm excited about the slightly higher SPF. I like the original, so I will try it out if I can catch a great sale. However, I assume it will be a nice TM like the original, a not a BB cream.

  17. Oohhh... Fingers crossed for the deep color! Hope it will be a good find.

  18. I hope this works for you! While the original was nice, when I used it during the summer, it literally melted off my face ( I hate my oily skin!!!!) . I'm eagerly awaiting your review:)

  19. Garnier has a "Fair/Light" color in the original BB cream, that they didn't have when I originally purchased a tube.

  20. Yay! A deep shade! I will be grabbing this.

  21. Thanks G! I'm going to try this one out soon. I'm not a fan of the Maybelline or Revlon one.

  22. can't wait for your review G! thanks for the heads-up
i love Asian BB creams, and I hope this is at least somewhat closer to Asian BB creams, less of a tinted moisturizer

  23. I reaaally wanted to try this because I saw it in my local Rite Aid, but as I was reading reviews (anyone else read reviews on their phones while they are shopping for beauty products?), someone who has the same skin color as me (about a MAC NC30) said that they were a bit more on the pink side. I just decided to steer clear for now!

  24. I love, love the Garnier BB Cream in the original formula. I actually had several people compliment my complexion after I started wearing it. But, yes, it made my skin very oily after a couple of hours. So this will probably be my HG!!

  25. well this makes me happy. i too have oily skin so i'm curious to see how this works out bc i did try their other one and it was a total FAIL! So those who warned you that its not good for oily skin... DING-DING-DING! You know what else bothered me?! the scent! as usual it has the HIGHLY scented ingredients that Garnier products have! ARgh! scents only mean one thing: irritated skin! I WISH THEY WOULD TONE THAT DOWN ON FACE PRODUCTS! K enough of my rant! LOL Thanks, Leslie

  26. I just picked this up yesterday. I got Light/Medium and it seems a good match for for me (I'm NC15-20 in MAC). It's quite liquidy and doesn't have that horrible smell that the original Garnier BB cream has. I have had it on for a few hours now and so far so good as far as shine. I will say that when I first put it on it dried down to a lovely matte finish.

  27. Just purchased this on Walmart.com (couldn't wait for it to hit my store). If anyone buys, don't forget to go through Ebates first for 12% cash back!

  28. Thank you for the blog post! I spotted the oil free bb cream display at my local Walgreens. I'm an nc25-30 and I picked up the light-medium shade. New HG everyday foundation! Sets matte and makes my skin look so natural and even! :)

  29. Best BB Cream! it gives me great coverage and I have far from perfect skin. But I also don't mind some imperfections peeking thru. I hope you give this a try its awesome! Too watery but amazing!! hahaha

  30. I am NC30 - tried medium/deep. A little pink.
