Spotted: Maybelline Color Whisper by ColorSensational Lipsticks

At this point, I'm sure some of you have already spotted this display at your local drugstores. Thanks to many of you for sharing pics and I wish I could have posted them all here!

Reader Danielle spotted this display at her local Walgreens (it's also been spotted by readers at CVS, Rite Aid, Kmart, Target, etc.) and was nice enough to share:

I'm probably not alone in thinking these look a lot like the L'Oreal Colour Riche Balms. I have yet to try any Color Whispers though, so I can't comment on if the formula is similar to the L'Oreal Balms. Have you tried these yet? If so, what do you think of them? I can't wait to pick some up and review them since I'm a huge ColorSensational fan.

Thanks so much, Danielle and others, for sending pics of this display!

  1. I've swatched some and purchased one. The formuala is super similar to the Le Balms but these are more pigmented, particularly the pink and red shades.

  2. They are exactly the same as the caresse not the balms but the more pigmented caresse...yep same thing... At first my wishful thinking that I didn't but 2 more of the same kind of thing that I already have 2 of that I barely wear because they are so sheer and slippery (I'm a matte lip girl and prefer the revlon lip butter creamy feeling alot more) but they are. Theres some different colors..like blushing sequin and cherry on top are almost the same though. BUT..Loreal does own maybelline..so its my fault for getting over excited about a new lip product I knew nothing about.

  3. I purchased Berry Ready and it's really pigmented! The shade comes off as bright on my lips as it looks in the tube.

  4. Saw these first last week at CVS and then at Target..so went ahead and purchased 4, much better than the Caresse formula.
I got LUST FOR BLUSH # 25, ORANGE ATTITUDE#40, BARE TO BE BOLD #10, AND ONE SIZE FITS PEARL # 55.

  5. I saw these last week at CVS and then again yesterday at Target. At FIRST they reminded me of the Caresse, however loving the pigmentation and feel so much better. I have 4
Bare to be Bold, Orange Attitude, Lust for Blush and one Size Fits Pearl.

  6. If they are super pigmented then I will certainly check these out. Any thoughts on the scent? Strong? None?

  7. I just bought two of these this week. I like them for moisture, but the color is not enought for me. However, this is not Maybelline's fault, as the product is billed as "sheer". I would recommend them if you want light color and a balm feel. The color range is nice too.

  8. I bought two of these this week. The color IS sheer, as advertised, and is not quite enough for me, though I noticed it is gradually buildable. My lips still feel moist, and I applied 4 hours ago. I would recommend, if you like a light cover. The color range looked like a lot in the display (my display was full, so I got to see them all), but on close inspection, some were very similar to each other. All in all, If on the fence, I would wait for a sale. I.m a sucker for this stuff when new, so I paid full price. --Pam

  9. I just got one of these today, #25, Lust for Blush. It doesn't feel as buttery as the L'Oreal Balm or the L'Oreal Colour Caresse. They remind me most of the Caresse ones that came out a few months back, and I think I prefer the Caresses a bit more. The Lust for Blush is a pretty light, almost neutral pink, though. It applies paler on my very pale lips than I'd expected, but it looks true to what I see in the tube, and it builds up to almost a creme, reminding me most of Revlon Lip Butters' Strawberry Shortcake. I love the packaging, though, with the sheer case and the cursive "whisper" on the side.

  13. I bought two last week and I think they're fantastic. To me, they are different from the Revlon lip butters and nothing like the L'oreal Balms or Caresse lipsticks. I find them to be more similar to the Too Faced La Creme lipsticks, which I love.

  17. I snagged two of these yesterday, Lust for Blush and Rose of Attraction. I'm not thrilled; I prefer the L'Oreal Caresse lipsticks. Those (L'Oreal) are more moisturizing and creamier than the Color Whisper, plus color payoff is better. The Lust for Blush is way too pale for me, but Rose of Attraction is a decent MLBB. I think I'll stick to the Caresse lippies :)
