I am in LOVE with frmheadtotoe and missglamorazzi on youtube! their tutorials are very helpful in a wide variety of looks, and i love how they provide options for light, subtle, everyday looks. I'm not much of an exaggerated make-up look gal, so they're just in the right spectrum for me!
ReplyDeletePixiwoo. Those girls are the BEST! And Samantha Chapman's Real Techniques brushes are amazing, affordable brushes. Couldn't gush about the Chapman sisters enough.

ReplyDeleteI LOVE crystalis007. She is so excited about everything and it's infectious. She does a good mix of HE and DS. She doesn't do tutorials really. It's mostly hauls, reviews, comparisons, and favorites videos. I'm not much for watching tutorials anymore so those types of videos are right up my alley. I also really like makeuptia. She's so cute and sweet. She's also very matter of fact and is not sponsored by anybody, so you don't have that whole "buy this from x website!" which really gets on my nerves.

ReplyDeleteI occasionally watch nail tutorials on YouTube. Missglamorazzi is adorable, I love her cupcake manicure tutorial. Otherwise I just watch knitting technique and clips of David Tennant.

ReplyDeletevintageortacky: this girl always makes me feel great about being a plus size chick. she rocks everything and looks awesome ALWAYS, and she does some of the most amazing makeup looks i've ever seen! truly talented. if i could pick one youtuber to do my makeup, just once, it'd be her!

ReplyDeleteTiffanyD! How has no one mentioned her?! I like that her looks are wearable and real. I like neutral, everyday makeup (as opposed to theme-y stuff or really colorful stuff) and I find her tutorials are that.
ReplyDeleteI also like Emilynoel83 because she's so neutral about cost - I find lots of gurus are really brand conscious, whereas she seems much more focused on good products. Don't get me wrong - I can spend a fortune on makeup! :) But I also love a good drugstore find, and I love a resource for drugstore recommendations when I'm looking for something new or specific that I might not want to invest a bunch in. And because I love both, I really, really believe that good quality products come at all price points.
I also like pixiwoo a lot - we have similar skin and similar trouble spots.
And From Head To Toe mostly because she's fun to watch. I wish she did more makeup tutorials - she's heavy on the hauls and has done a ton on the little show thing she's involved in and that stuff. I don't love vlogs, but I do love her makeup stuff. I found an HG BB cream because of her!

ReplyDeleteI have watched a zillion beauty related videos on youtube but I religiously follow Amarixe and MorenaBarbee. Amarixe really keeps up with the trends and she has another youtube channel that deals with stuff like life and style. She seems to really enjoy decorating her home and that's a passion of mine too! I just think we have similiar tastes. MorenaBarbee has really influenced my makeup buying habit. All the products she loves are my holy grail products so whenever she does a review and likes a product, I go out, buy it, and love it too! She's never steered me wrong. Plus all her tutorials are with extremely affordable products!

ReplyDeleteAdore DustyOHunter!!! He's they absolute favorite- witty, stylish with a glam punk sensibility and good all around tips. Plus I think he's a little sexy, I also love GossMakeupArtist for his advice, JoshCollier for his sass and Thrifty Thursdays, YesImWearingMakeup because he's adorable, VintageorTacky for all the reasons people mentioned, AModelReccomends, PixieWoo, PinkieCharm and Temptalia. Whoa, that was a mouthful!

ReplyDeleteI love Bubzbeauty and frmheadtotoe (she's also why I heard about you as well!)! But one of my favorites has to be xteener! She has such a variety of videos from different outfit ideas to a lot of different styles and best thing: she uses a lot of drugstore products rather than high end! She makes make-up looks so easy and achievable for everybody!

ReplyDeletefuzkittie was my fave once upon a time :) i like chill, off the beaten path vloggers: pinksofoxy, aluxebabe, chanelette, fashionismycrush, theclaudiacouture. i will watch anybody who does nailpolish vids. but one of my all time faves is beautyQQ. she's chinese & does a lot of very uplifting, inspirational & fun videos. i also find bighairbiggerlashes hysterically funny.

i love her high quality videos, and great drugstore makeup taste! She's very much an affordable yet beautiful kind of girl. shes so pretty but so down to earth and genuine, you just cant not like her.
I love shadesofkassie (because she's my twin and she's amazing), essiebutton, jlovesmac1, msgoldgirl, icallitambrosia, kandeejohnson (even though she hasn't been making videos recently since her father passed away) and makeupbyalli, just to name a few. I think I'm subscribed to like... 200 people, though. Haha. Beauty, it consumes me.
ReplyDeleteFor sure emilynoel83, she has to be the most honest guru on yt! She is very down to earth and i feel like i know her! She is one of those girl next door type (she reminds me of u g!) Anything she says that works...works for me! Never have i ever gone wrong w one of her recommendations! She is just like u, she does not just go w fads and says "yeah it works" unless it actually does. She loves finding dupes and she will take weeks if it means finding the best ones. Love her! She got me started w the love of drugstore makeup brands <3! U have just taken it to a whole new level! ^.^ Then there is julieg713 who has great and different mu looks and i love when she used to do nail looks more often just to get ideas. Cutepolish has easy nail designs (i mean super super easy!) Which is always good for a nail art fan like me who can only manage dots on a good day, but once i found her i have learned and done some awesome designs (which i end up doing one BOTH hands! *.*). Then there is itsjudytime who is too cute for words! And i love that we have the same kind of skin so when she reviews foundation and if she likes it, i run and by it! ^.^ Then there is nvmakeuplover who is soooo funny! She is kind of silly with a touch of adhd which i love! She is too sweet! And her makeup is always awesome! Then last but not least makeupbyleinabaaaby she is my go to for fun and colorful makeup. She is so talented! =) every now and then i watch old makeupgeektv, she hasnt done any unique looks like she used to =( but she is inspirational! =)
ReplyDeleteActually, I generally dislike watching videos on the Internet. I would MUCH rather read it than watch it. I do, however make an exception for MakeupByTiffanyD. I regularly buy stuff that she features on her videos, probably because she looks so gorgeous. I don't think I can say the same for regular bloggers I follow.

I watch frmheadtotoe, mamichula8153, hollyannaeree, and xsparkage. Cutepolish and mysimplepleasures for nails. Oh and I really love ilikeweylie but she doesn't do much on makeup anymore -- still though, she is hilarious!

ReplyDeleteI had never seen a makeup video or blog until I saw some nail designs on pinterest last year. I started trying to research how these gorgeous nails were done and it has opened up a whole new world!!! Some of the first nail YT tutorials I saw were by soguesswhat11 and she is still my favorite nail person. She does stamping tuts, but doesn't use all Konad polishes, just stuff you can get easily. Plus, I don't know how old she is, but I feel like she's in my ballpark lol. Love her!!

You have a million replies already but I could not forget my first love makeup geek! She's the first person that ever broke down the outer v so easily (at least that I found there could have been some before her) and that was when I finally "got it". I always thought that my eye shape didn't match others and so I couldn't do the looks (they are small and not overly arched eyebrows or anything).

I actually love that there are a good number of Asian beauty YTs out there because growing up, makeup tutorials in magazines could never ever apply to me. I don't have monolids, but I don't have the same sort of browbone and crease most Caucasians have.
MakeupGeekTV, SimpleLittlePleasures (nails), and SinCityMUA are pretty much the only ones I watch with anything resembling regularity. Only because I don't have a whole lot of time to just watch TV. I don't wear makeup due to my ultra-sensitive skin (I think last time was about three years ago, and boy did I pay for it) but I just LOVE to watch someone transform their face with a few strokes of a brush!
