Spotted: Target-exclusive Essie polishes and new e.l.f. goodies

A huge thanks to my awesome readers Jess and scheherezhad for this Target scoop!

First up, scheherezhad spotted new Target-exclusive Essie polishes and was kind enough to share pics AND jot down names, with brief descriptions!

NOTE: These are all cremes, with the possible exception of Strawberry Shortcake, which has a slight shimmer, according to scheherezhad:

Flirt (hot pink-orange),  Mint Candy Apple (NOTE: photo makes this shade look like blue--it is really mint green)

Rock Candy (light pink), Strawberry Shortcake (shimmery medium pink), Fancy Delancy (fuschia - not in display)

scheherezhad also spotted the new e.l.f. end cap display at Target:

Regarding the above endcap, scheherezhad shares with us the following info:

The e.l.f. endcap is heavy on eyeshadows. The bottom shelf has a $10 brush set, and the $10 100 eyeshadow palette. The next shelf has a set of five lipglosses, two different sets of eyeshadow duos, and a set of eyeliners (all $5). The third shelf has a 32 neutral eye palette, a 48 warm eye palette, a 48 cool eye palette, and a 32 brights eye palette (all $5). The top shelf is four different eye look books and a face book (all $5). The bottom row of pegs has a set of 6 cream shadows, two sets of 6 powder shadows, a shimmer palette, a blush/bronzer palette, a zit zapper/concealer set, a lash and brow set, and makeup wipes (all $3). The top row of pegs has an eyeliner/mascara set, a pencil eyeliner set, a liquid eyeliner set, a loose eyeshadow set, a hypershine lipgloss set, a set of 3 different eyeshadow primers, a lip balm set, a 3-piece brush set, and a set of three kinds of blotting papers (all $3).

And as luck would have it, the lovely Jess sent me some close-ups of the products she purchased from this exact same display at her Target!

NOTE: all of the following products retail for $3 each:

I'm so excited about this Nude, Pearl and Champagne Eyelid Primer trio!

A huge, whopping thanks to scheherezhad for the fantastic pics and detailed descriptions, and to Jess for the great close-up pics of some of these e.l.f. products. I'm so grateful!!

Have you purchased any of these products at your local Target yet? Are you excited to try anything mentioned in this post?

  1. I have. I purchased the Natural Eyeshadow Palette. I thought about the Primers, but I passed. The Beauty Books look nice, especially the Bright Edition - some of the shades look like the shades from Sigma's Flare Palette!

  2. I don't know about all the Essies, but mint candy Apple was released a few years ago. But when I was at Target I did see a shelf of what looked to be brand new colors from the Sally hansen xtreme wear line! :)

  5. A few of those essie shades have been out for a while so I don't think they are Target exclusives!! But either way they're awesome!!

  6. Carmen and Jacquelyn: Hum...well if you look closely at the display, each shade has a little note that says, "Only at Target". So...maybe some of them were released a while ago but now they're only available through Target? Not sure, but thanks for the info!

  7. As others have said these Essies are not Target exclusives (tho I'm not sure what their signage is saying). I believe they are all core colors (I know they are all on transdesign currently) now but at least at Target there is a chance of them being on a promo and getting a good deal

  8. Not sure about target's signage but I know all the Essies are currently on transdesign.com. I think they are core

  9. I have had Mint and Apple and California Coral for awhile for Beauty supply plus. Does anyone know if the eye primer works? Is love to try it!

  11. I'm excited for California Coral. I've been trying to find the right coral: more pink than peach, and not too screaming loud. I'm also curious about the ELF products. My Target is usually pretty lame, and doesn't have much new stuff, but I'm going to go over there tomorrow to see.

  12. I must have those ELF Eye Lid Primers! I've been on this eyeshadow primer kick for a month now. Now you just got me all excited again! YAY!

  13. Someone from ELF UK's fb page pointed out that the cream shadow set looks like three of the original cream shadow duos (Butter Pecan, Black Licorice and Berry Mix!) in one set. I'd love to know if this is true since I've heard not so good things about the original cream shadow duos.

  14. id like to have the Natural Eye kit and maybe the blush/bronzer set. ive been wanting a nude eye kit. Ill check them out when I go to Target.

  15. Odd that these are being tagged as only available at Target. I still see several of these shades at Ulta as well as some nail supply stores...so they're definitely not Target Exclusive polishes. odd.

  16. KMart had a large display of Elf studio line also.

  17. I haven't been to Target lately but now I see a trip in my future. I want to take a look at the primers and the blush/bronzer palette!

  18. I'm thinking you're right. Vermillionare and Mint Candy Apple I know for sure have been out for a while for the salon line. So maybe they re-released them as a retail line polish and are only going to sell the retail version at Target?

  19. LOL I saw this Essie display last night in Target, but I was helping my mom buy a Kindle and she didn't want to stop and let me ooh and ahh over it! Great find as usual.

  20. Target has special displays, but all of those polishes are in their regular line. I checked on the Essie website. Strawberry Shortcake is the only one that didn't show up in a search... Could be a re-promote from years ago?

  21. Ah, I think I know what Essie is doing. These shades won't be sold at other drugstores that sell the new Essie- with white letters. They can still be sold at Ulta or in salons, but the store has to order them. And they'll have the clear glass letters on the bottle in Ulta. Or they just wanted to re-promote the shades for Target customers.

  22. I bet Rie is right, it's probably exclusive to Target through the retail line, while available in salons and online through the salon line.

I wish there wasn't so much of the eye shadows. Doesn't ELF know that everyone loves their blushes, so why only one blush quad? I'd have loved to see a whole line of ELF blush singles on those pegs! I think I'd like to give that primer a shot, and I'd like to look over the brush sets. I'm pleased with the ELF brushes I have so far, so if they have some I'm missing or wouldn't mind a back up of, I might pick that up too.

I'd also like to pick up this, if it's one of the look books available...

  23. Success! Target had the Essie display, and I snagged California Coral. Sadly, no ELF stuff. Typical.

  24. OMG I bought two of the palettes, but they didn't have the primer set :(

I got the two Beauty Volumes, I LOVE THEM!

  25. I tried the ELF primer today that comes with 3. I used the champagne colored one and have had my shadow on for 8 hours and so far it is working as well as my UDPP. The colors look fresh like I just put it on and weird enough I have had 3compliments about my eyemakeup looking good today. I think this color will be my favorite. I can't believe this was only 3 bucks lol.
