The Wednesday Question

I think that now is a good time to reflect a bit about the drugstore beauty purchases we've made in 2011. With the coming of spring, let's talk about our favorites so far:

What are your favorite drugstore beauty products that you've purchased so far this year?

Your response can include new products, and also new-to-you products that may be older, existing core collection products that you've just recently discovered. I'd say my favorite things I've personally purchased so far this year (which excludes anything I was sent for review, of course) would be the NYC Lip Stain and the Softsoap Strawberry Smoother body wash. I can't get enough of either! Oh! And HOW could I forget the Physicians Formula Organic Mascara and the Happy Booster Blush! How about you?

  9. I totally love L'oreal HIP Pigment in 'Intrepid' I bought this during the 75% CVS sale and it's amazing! I own nothing like it. I'm also loving Eos Lip Balm!

  10. Hard Candy Glamoflauge (sp?). This has taken the place of my Benefit concealer. I have wicked under-eye circles and this is some hard-core spackle!

I also love Wet-n-Wild's Hannah Pinktana nail polish. It's that gorgeous medium pink with holoflecks. I can just sit and stare at my nails for hours when I wear it.

Oh, and I flove Nivea body washes. I initially bought them from Smallflower as German imports. Now I can buy them at Wags, double the amount for half the price. Sure, the bottles are in English now...I like to try and pronounce/figure out the German :).

  15. Of course my first thought would be to say the new Wet n Wild 8 pans. Besides those I have been LOVING the Revlon cream blushes. The main ingredients are silicones, so they probably won't work for everyone, but I love them on me. One of my first posts on my new blog is about them!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Hands down, it's got to me the Wet & Wild palettes! I adore them all!

  17. Seche Vite - new to this, can't believe I didn't use it earlier. I LOVE this.

    Various polishes:

    Confetti
    Sally Hansen
and LA Colors (which I lucked into finding at Dollar Tree, thanks to reading this blog and checking out their makeup)
Elf Lip Stain in Mysterious. Another Dollar Tree find. I LOVE this shade. It is just about the best nude I have ever found anywhere.

Cover Girl Simply Ageless Blush - this is my first drugstore beauty purchase, next to Sally Hansen Insta Dry Polishes, and I really, really love this. I can't believe how good it is - I wanted to buy something from this line cause I love that CG uses Ellen as the model, and it ended up being an amazingly great blush.

Sally Hansen Insta Dry Polishes. I love these. The work really well for me.

  18. Physician's Formula Happy Booster Blush, Wet n Wild Fast Dry nail polishes (I bought Silvivor, Grey's Anatomy and Party of Five Glitters.), and there are probably more, but I'm blanking on them :)

I use a lot of other drugstore goodies, longer than a year.. and I am sure I have more to add to the list for this years finds, but this is all for now.

  21. I second the Happy Booster blush! It's so much better than I expected. I also like Dive Bar by Essie - which isn't a drug store brand, but I bought it in a drug store... does that count? :)

  30. Oops - my goof, AVON isn't drugstore! Sorry about that; I got so excited about it that I added it accidentally. So, just the Rimmel then. My new fave drugstore mascara. Definitely.

  31. So many good purchases this year - Maybelline gel liners (I bought black and brown, and will be picking up the purple) are my favorite. If I set them with eyeshadow, they last all day on my waterline - nothing else does that!

I also love my WnW Silent Treatment trio - which took some serious hunting to find.

Oh, and my ELF eyeshadow and blush brushes - both are so perfect!

    ReplyDelete
  32. So far, I love the Wet 'N Wild 8 pans. I got Sinful Color's Green Ocean and adore that! (Thanks, G, for turning me onto that one!)

    ReplyDelete
  33. -Wet 'n Wild black cream liner
-Hard Candy Glamoflauge concealer (it's dense, but not drying at all!)
-Maybelline lip stain in "Touch of Toffee" (a perfect MLBB shade and it lasts much longer than any other stain I've used!)

    ReplyDelete
  34. I love...

    - King and Queens Chinese Princess Shower Jel
    - NYC Extreme Lip Gliders Gloss
    - Wet n WIld 666 Brandywine lip liner (supposed to be universally flattering)
    - Cover Girl Tru Blend Whipped foundation
    - Revlon Colorstay Foundation (for longer wear)

    -NYX round lipsticks (milani)
    - Milani liquif'eye metalic eyeliner (black)
    - Sally Hansen "give 'em the eye" eyelash curler (double curls)

    ReplyDelete
  35. I would love to say the NYC stains, but I still haven't seen them anywhere!!

But the Physician's Formula happy stuff is pretty damn awesome. I'm a sucker for cuteness in a hot pink package.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I have to say my favs, cant pick just one, are Revlon Crystal Lilac lipgloss, P.F. Happy Booster, and Sally Hansen Diamond lipgloss in Love Match. I have to admit I bought everyone of them at the CVS clearance.

    ReplyDelete
  37. The products I'm loving so far are my CG NatureLuxe foundation, CG NatureLuxe lipbalm, Revlon Color Stay foundation, NYC lipstain, CG Lip Perfection lipsticks, ALL of my WetnWild eyeshadow palettes (especially in Silent Treatment), Physician Formula Mosaic blush, and ELF Studio blushes in Peachy Keen and Candid Coral.

And MOST of these products that I bought were because of your awesome reviews. I hate buying products that might not work on me so I always read reviews beforehand.

    ReplyDelete
  38. The new NYC lipstains and reformulated lip shines are amazing! also the physicians formula mineral blushes you recommended.

  41. I'm in love with the Physicians Formula Happy Booster Blush. I was never quite the blush type person but this has opened up a whole new realm for me.
And I don't know if this counts, but I recently purchased a few brushes from CVS Essence of Beauty line and I'm in love. They are so incredibly soft to the touch and perfect for application. I don't know why I waited so long to get these to begin with.

  42. Here are mine:

-PF Pink Glow and Blushing Glow Mineral Blushes
    -e.l.f. eyeshadow brush
