Since we're talking about Wet n Wild again today, I wanted to give you a quick heads-up that the blurb about me being the first Beauty Ambassador is now up on the Wet n Wild site if you'd like to check it out. Click here to see it. I was SO thrilled to see what they wrote about me that I just had to share it with you!
Now, on to the dupes! I want to thank my lovely reader Jessi who recently sent me pics of some MAC dupes that are in the Wet n Wild Pixie Holiday palette Snow Sprite (the one that I'm regretting I didn't purchase) and they're pretty fabulous.
Jessi had a hunch that two of the shades in Snow Sprite may be dupes for the MAC Mineralize Eyeshadow Duo She Who Dares from MAC’s Venomous Villains collection. After comparing them, she said they are NOT 100% exact dupes because the finishes are different, but even though they're not exact, they're pretty darned close (in my opinion!). According to Jessi:
"The blue and green of the MAC shadow are glittery and will cause fallout unless foiled or put over a sticky base. The green shade in Snow Sprite is shimmery, not glittery, but the base color is the same as the MAC. The blue Snow Sprite shade is a bit glittery but the glitter is finer and sparser. It still is very close to the MAC. While they aren’t exact dupes, I think the Snow Sprite palette is a good substitute, especially seeing as it is a lot cheaper ($4.99 vs $21.00!) and She Who Dares was limited edition and no longer available."
Let's take a look at her pics:

Right: MAC She Who Dares Mineralized Eyeshadow Duo
Per Jessi, the following swatches were swatched on top of Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy. One of the swatch pictures is included to clearly show the difference in the finishes between the two:

Wow! I'd say that even though these aren't exact dupes, they definitely give off the same feeling as the MAC duo, and it looks like, on the eye, it would be hard to tell them apart.
Thanks SO much, Jessi, for the great info and pics!
Wow, those are *really* close dupes! I am regretting not purchasing this one as well!
ReplyDeleteI want that palette, that is an amazing dupe! Pretty darn close if you ask me! great post ♥
ReplyDeleteSnow Sprite is the only one I didn't pick up, now I'm starting to think I should! :)
ReplyDeletedarn it, that's the only one i didn't pick up either (i can't do blues and greens too well), now i sort of wish i grabbed it lol. not that i'd use it probably :x oh well, all my wags had their WnW section completely cleared out XD
ReplyDeleteCongrats on being named the WnW Beauty Ambassador!!!
ReplyDeleteWow!! Those look soooo similar. :))
ReplyDeleteBaah! I've asked my boyfriend to look for the WnW Pixie Holiday Palettes at CVS & Walgreens, but where else could he find them? There's no RiteAid where he is.
ReplyDeleteYay! This one I actually have already! I love it as much as Night Elf
ReplyDeleteDon't forget that the dark blue is a good dupe for NAR's Night Flight, too!
ReplyDeleteI love how these palettes have become like little treasure hunts.
@Ashley, I recommend going to the less popular Walgreen's to find these babies. I was finally able to find them once I went to Walgreen's that weren't frequented much/didn't have as many young people living nearby.
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely a pretty palette. I recommend hunting it down if you can!
Thank you for this post. I was over here about to kill myself looking for the MAC shadow
ReplyDeleteYay! Thank you for posting this G! I was really excited to find these dupes and I'm glad we got to share them with everyone.
ReplyDeleteAnd you have always been the Wet n Wild ambassador even before they gave you the title because I wouldn't have bought these if it hadn't been for you! Thank you so much!
Wow, normally I'm not one for blue eyeshadows... but that WnW one is gorgeous! I'm also really impressed with how similar it is to the MAC shadow. Now I'm just bummed that I haven't found the Pixie Palettes in my area yet! I will keep looking, though. :)
ReplyDeleteWow! Those look like close dupes to me! I have bought a few of the Snow Sprite to send to other people, but don't have one for myself. Maybe I need to get it while its still available!
ReplyDeleteI bought this palette and those are great dupes. I first thought I shouldn't have purchased this palette because the other colors are just lighter/darker variations id each other, but now I'm not regretting. WetnWild must have had the high end brands in the lab while creating their products.
ReplyDeleteWow! They DO look alike -now I'm happy I got this. (Haven't tried it yet though)..
ReplyDeleteAhh... I want, I want! Such lovely colors, but by the time I started looking around ALL the pixie palettes near me were gone. :(
ReplyDeleteI agree that you've always been and totally deserve being WnW ambassador! I probably never would have looked at the brand makeup-wise if not for you!
Happy belated birthday, btw! Wishing you many happy returns. ;)
These are gorgeous! Great swatches! Thanks for sharing! Ive got to pick this up! :]
ReplyDeletei still have yet to see a single one of these palettes *sigh* but i am planning to scour drugstores while i'm on vacation in Arizona because Snow Sprite and Night Elf MUST be mine! (and maybe i'll hit up Wags on my way home since other commenters mentioned it).
ReplyDeletebtw awesome shout-out on WnW's site!
this is really really close!!! I may pick this one up even tho i am not much of an e/s wearer!
ReplyDeleteI finally got around to using this palette today, I really like it! Looking for a bright green base to really make that bright green shadow pop.
ReplyDeleteThe only palette I'm missing is Golden Goddess and only because it was sold out, not because I passed on it. I want it!!!
ReplyDeleteG, I've been thinking that you really are WnW's ultimate beauty ambassador. I have bought WnW in the past and always swore by their blushes, but didn't go much further than that until I started reading here. WnW has made hundreds, maybe even thousands of dollars due to you creating so many lemmings for all of us! And we thank you for it too. WnW is quality makeup and many of us wouldn't have tried it and found out that, if not for you.
I think they are dupes. Hooray on saving some money!!!! This collection rocked so hard that it was gone within weeks of release. I'm glad I got mine when I did.
ReplyDeleteDead on! Amazing dupes! Another reason that I'm happy I have this palette.
ReplyDeletei got mine! i got mine! i'm so excited! i feel like charlie with the golden ticket, haha! after reading about these palettes for months and months from asia i'm finally in the states and have been visiting all the cvses i could find and being disappointed to find no wet n wild at any of them! thanks to the commenter above who suggested walgreens, i went there and they had one or two of each of the four palletes left. i picked up all of them except the purples (not a big fan, plus they were $5.29 each! way to sock it the customer, walgreens). anyway i can't wait to try them! yay! i didn't think i had any chance of finding these at all this late in the game.
