Oooh, look what I found at Dollar Tree!

If you have a Dollar Tree in your area, you might want to head on over and take a look at what they currently have in the cosmetics aisle. I went to my local Dollar Tree a few days ago to pick up some non-beauty items and I was absolutely floored by what I found!

Here's a pic ($1 each for everything):

Now starting from the top, I found TONS of L.A. Colors Art Deco Nail Art Lacquers in all different colors (creams, shimmers and glitters). In case you're not familiar with these, they are nail polishes that have a super fine brush so you can paint polka-dots, lines, flowers, etc. on your nails. Fun! I should add that the lowest price I've seen for these in my area, at local beauty supplies, is $3.49. Yay!

I also picked up a tube of Cover Girl Shadow Squease in "Carnation" which is a lovely pinky-champagne shimmer. This product is an excellent, no-budge, cream-to-powder shadow that makes a wonderful eyeshadow base.

Moving on, I found an L.A. Colors All-in-One Lipstick, Blush and Eyeshadow pencil (retractable!) in the shade of "Pink Satin" which is a super pretty, lightly shimmery lilac. I have used this once so far and I love it! It imparts a pretty, sheer lavender-pink sheen to the cheeks and eyes while, when applied to the lips, looks like a subtle, frosty medium lilac. Very pretty and this blends very easily on all parts of the face.

Next, I found an L.A. Colors Expressions Lip Gloss in "Dreamy Pink". Now, this is shimmery and it's pretty gritty at first, but after a few minutes the grit goes away and you're left with soft, very shimmery, pink lips. It's a cheap gloss but it's fun and it smells like bubble gum. Also, I'm surprised that it's got decent staying power, even with my "gloss-eating" tendencies.

I also found a bottle of Maybelline Wet Shine polish in a "new" color called "Sky Dive". I absolutely love sheer, subtle light blue polishes and this one is so gorgeous. It's sheer sky-blue that flashes purple and turquoise blue. Soo pretty. And I love Maybelline polishes in general (they have the best staying power of any drugstore nail polish I've ever tried) so this was one heck of a bargain.

Lastly, I found one of those L.A. Colors Eyeshadow palettes in "Traditional" which is the neutral palette. I know that tons of bloggers have reviewed this set of 12 colors, so it's time for me to finally give it a whirl!

If there's anything here that you'd like to see me review in-depth, please leave a comment and I'll get to that first. If not, please stay tuned because I'll take a closer look at each of these in the weeks to come.

Oh, and here are some close-up pics of all of the products I just mentioned:

  6. Oh yeah, I have quite a few in my area. I never find anything good, really. The best thing I've ever found were these L'Oreal Eye Crayons, long discontinued, but sooo beautiful!! Me and my mom cleaned them out, hehe :)

  16. Hello, I am new to this whole beauty thing, online...blogs, sites and youtube, so forgive me if I ask a stupid question or say anything that does not make sense. Anyhow, just wanted to tell you of my experience with Dollartree, I was shock to see Maybelline products, so I went ahead to make that purchase and what do you know the lipstick I purchased made my lips burn and dry. SO, the question I am asking is.. are all the products from well known brands old? And that is why they are so cheap? Also, I saw a clear package with what I believed to be CG pencil eyeshadows, but the packaging does not read Cover Girl, have you seen these/
