Coming Soon: Maybelline Color Show Jewels Top Coats

Attention flakie fans! If you like the NYC gold flake topper and the Revlon gold flake topper (which are both dupes for Zoya Maria Louisa), then you might be VERY excited to know that there's an entire line of flakie top coats coming your way very soon from Maybelline!

Many thanks to reader Sephiria for this one. Sephiria spotted this ad in the June edition of Cosmo and was nice enough to share with us:

NEW Maybelline Color Show Jewels Textured Top Coat Collection
(ad from the June 2014 edition of Cosmo)

The ad indicates that these are going to be in stores July 2014, but it does not indicate that these are limited edition, so I obviously don't know the status on that yet.

Gleaming in Graphite, Gilded in Gold, Mosaic Prism, Platinum Adorn, Precious Pearl

Notice the ad says "FIVE JEWEL SHAPES AND FINISHES". It looks like these are all flakies, but maybe some are metallic while others have an iridescent or pearl finish? I guess we'll have to wait and see!

The ad says these are coming to stores July 2014, but we all know that these collections have a way of showing up in stores much earlier than their official release date, so keep your eyes peeled for them!

Thanks again, Sephiria, for the awesome tip and pics!

  1. I hope they don't turn out to be shards! How many times has that happened by now? lol

    1. OMG don't you dare utter the S-word! Lol!!! The image really looks like gold flakes's FLAKES, I tell you! Lol! ;)

  2. LMAO G!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Is it just me or has Maybelline really stepped up its nail game? I feel like they are so on-trend!

  4. I just saw these in Harmon in nyc. They are those mylar flakes. One is a gunmetal gray flake its gorgeous! I can send pics if you want.

  5. I actually picked up a couple of these from a store today (the only store I've seen with them in so far); the "Gleaming Graphite" and "Precious Pearl". GG looks like a sort of hematite flakie in a clear coat, whereas PP is a matte white multi-size "glitter" in a clear coat.
