This morning, I received an email from reader Lori who said she spotted a new Sinful Colors display and although she didn't know many details, she said noticed a NEW shade in the display (as many of us know, Sinful Colors is notorious for putting existing, repromoted shades in their new displays). She said she thought the name of this new color was Leap Frog (more on that in a bit).
So, I immediately did a Google search and no such name popped up. So THEN I asked my followers on Twitter and Facebook today if anyone knew ANYTHING about this shade, and thanks to two additional readers, I now have all the details!
I'm so excited to share this with you because not only does this display contain a new shade, but it also contains an existing but hard-to-find shade that I know many of you missed the first time around (but want)!
This display has been spotted at Walgreens by three separate readers:

(retail: $1.99 each, 0.05 oz)
NOTE: if you're looking for this display, The Nail Color Files told me that the beauty advisor at her Walgreens told her it had literally JUST arrived yesterday, so don't get frustrated if you don't see it this week. It may take some time for it to get to your Walgreens and be put on display.
A huge thanks to reader AuttyW for the above pic. AuttyW found this display at her local Walgreens TODAY and was kind enough to share this pic within hours of seeing it!
Per The Nail Color Files, all of the polishes in this collection are repromotes with the exception of Leap Flog. Yes, Leap FLOG (more on that in a minute).
The Nail Color Files confirmed that some of the other polishes in this display are Ruby Ruby, Fig, Ocean Side and WINTERBERRY. Yes folks, WINTERBERRY HAS MADE A COMEBACK! If you missed this delicious grape with fine silver shimmer the first time around, I suggest getting it when you see it. You will not be sorry (click here for my swatches to see for yourself...it's one of my all-time faves from Sinful Colors).
As for Ocean Side, as The Nail Color Files mentioned to me, this is a harder-to-find older shade. The number on the bottle is 962 which means it's definitely an older shade (newer Sinful shades all have numbers in the 1,000s). I asked The Nail Color Files if Ocean Side is similar to Why Not?, and luckily she has both so she could tell me the following:
"I put a bit of Why Not on top of the Ocean Side to compare. Why
Not has way more blue to it and pulls the green out in Ocean Side.
There's a difference there. The bottles side by side show Ocean Side
as being just a bit darker. It doesn't look like any of the recent
blues."
Now, let's get to Leap Flog, which is the only NEW color in this collection:

Sinful Colors Leap Flog
(retail: $1.99, 0.05 oz)
See? It says Leap FLOG on the bottle, and reader AuttyW said her bottle said "Flog" as well. Strange name aside, I want to thank The Nail Color Files for taking these pics just hours ago and doing these swatches on the fly for us:

The Nail Color Files describes Leap Flog as follows:
"I'd describe it as a dusty olive
green, something I don't think I've seen before. It's a creme, dries to a
shine, opaque in 2 coats."
Ooooh la la!

Thanks so much, Lori, AuttyW and The Nail Color Files for helping bring the latest Sinful Colors news to everyone as quickly as possible. This post was truly a group effort and I thank you so much for all the help!
So...are you exciting about the new shade Leap Flog, or the reappearance of Winterberry? Do you plan to pick up one or both or anything else when you see this display at your local Walgreens? And remember: this is a brand new display that's JUST being put out this week, so it may take a little while for it to surface.
I saw this display at Walgreens but it was packed with random colors, all old, basic colors.
ReplyDeleteOh I HATE it when that happens! I've seen that too, but not until it's an older display (meaning it's been out for a while) and people just start putting random colors in it. But it's strange that this happened to a NEW display. Sorry! :(
Deletewill be watching for this new one
ReplyDeletehope my walgreens puts this up soon, deff want leap flog, winterberry and fig. Here in PR the new shade stickers are diffrent. Its all white , and LE stickers are all white also w a line under the barcode. Old colors have the black background :)
ReplyDeleteI saw this display at the local walgreens but had no idea it was new hahah!
ReplyDeleteKind of reminds me of Exotic Encounter, but I think I have to see it in person to be able to tell. lol
ReplyDeleteThat was my immediate thought also, but EE is lighter and less dusty than Leap Flog.
DeleteThanks for confirming that. Good to know they're not identical! :)
DeleteI think I might get LF. It's one of those hard to describe colors and I just can't get enough of them. Sigh....Walgreens stalking for the next couple of weeks. ;)
ReplyDeleteMe too! Lol!
DeleteOoh I might pick up Leap Flog, that's a really unique color.
ReplyDeleteAnyone else kinda hate the back to school theme with this though? Haha they're all pretty Fall colors but I don't even wanna think about Fall yet.
Lol! I graduated from college a reeeeally long time ago, so back to school displays don't trigger any feelings in me other than excitement for sweaters and cooler weather. :)
DeleteThe new shade reminds me of Khloe Had a Little Lam-Lam, from Nicole by OPI.
ReplyDeleteYep, but it looks like that shade might be a little darker and bluer on the nail than this one...hard to tell but maybe they're close!
DeleteI'll be looking for Winterberry! Leap Flog is pretty, but I'm not to good at painting with cremes. Maybe for stamping!
ReplyDeleteThat's interesting! I'm the exact opposite! I find cremes to be the very easiest to apply. It's shimmers, chromes and metallics that are harder for me because of potential streaks and brush strokes. Cremes seem to almost paint themselves for me with little to no effort. :)
DeleteI learned a great tip for dealing with frosts that you might appreciate G, it was to use a eyeshadow sponge to apply the last coat-this eliminates brush strokes! :)
DeleteLove Winterberry! Bought it last year on your recommendation, and it's definitely one of my favorite Sinful Colors!
ReplyDeleteLeap Flog (what a name! LOL) reminds me of Essie's School of Hard Rocks from last winter's Cocktail Bling collection. Wonder how similar they are??
Yay! So glad to hear winterberry is working for you! :)
DeleteIt's hard to tell, but I think the Essie might be a tad more teal than this one...
I can't wait! I went today and had no luck. It's so pretty I love anything green and dusty!! Haven't seen the two together!
ReplyDeleteI love dusty greens too :)
DeleteI saw this last night, Leap Flog and Fig struck me as being very similar to the ChG Safari collection. I tried out LF on my thumb and it's darker and dustier than Exotic Encounters, which I compared it to when I got home.
ReplyDeleteGood to know. Thanks!!
DeleteOn Friday I found Winterberry for 1/2 off (.99) at Rite Aid. It was hidden away on an end cap at the back of the store with some other clearance items. I wasn't sure of the color. but after seeing the swatches, I'm glad I grabbed it! I also got Essie Good to Go top coat for $4 (retails at RA for $8) and a Physicians Formula blush for free! ($6.98 clearance price, $3 coupon, and $4 Up+ Rewards) Love clearance items!
ReplyDeleteGotta love those Rite Aid clearance end caps! That's where I got that monster haul I posted a few weeks ago. :)
DeleteAnd I remember picking up Good To Go on clearance at Rite Aid last year...I had never tried it before and WOW! It's the fastest quick dry I own! I hope you love it too. :)
I have to have Winterberry! I've been searching for it since the last go around...
ReplyDeleteOmg, you HAVE to get it this time around! *sends good polish-finding vibes your way* :)
DeleteLeap Flog kinda reminds me of Zoya's LE color from last winter called Evvie. It's a dark dusty gray-green and I love it on my cool skin tone, since olive greens look terrible on me.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to know how close they are if you get it!
DeleteI just did a comparison post on my blog with Leap Flog, China Glaze Exotic Encounters and Essie Go Overboard. Leap Flog and EE are different, but not significantly.
ReplyDeleteLeap flog reminds me of nicole by opi's Green up your act...dusty olive green(army grren) in the bottle but goes on a tad blue...weird but pretty color.

ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know when or how often Walgreens puts Sinful colors on the 99cents sale ?
ReplyDeleteI cannot find this display or any of the colors at the Walgreens in Dallas. Anyone else having any luck hereabouts?

ReplyDeleteJust picked up Leap Flog and will have to go back for Winterberry now that I've seen the swatches.
ReplyDeleteAnyone else get a naughty schoolgirl vibe from the display? When I saw it and read ”Flog” on the first bottle I picked up I thought the collection might be some sly reference to the 50 Shades of Gray craze of the moment. (Next there will be the OPI BDSM collection.) But maybe that's just my dirty brain and the name sinful at work. ;-p
WINTER BERRY! i saw this in January and didn't pick it up and i think about it every time there is a new sinful colors collection. my walgreens doesn't have this yet. impaiently waiting
ReplyDeletei got it today! and some other colors. my walgreens had a second sinful colors display called "start a phenomenon"
ReplyDeleteLeap Flog looks a lot like Revlon Fashionista, maybe more green instead of blue. Fashionista looks horrid on me though, and I wasn't to thrilled with Leap Flog when I saw it in the display. I did pick up Winterberry though.
ReplyDeleteI finally saw this display today, and will be stalking my Walgreens when the $.99 sale hits! Loving Leap Flog, Winterberry, and one more I can't remember. I love fall colors!! Thanks, G!
ReplyDeleteI found this display while on vacation --I got Leap Flog and Winterberry, with many thanks to this post-- even snapped a photo of it. But I couldn't figure out what intrigued me about the display, until now--
ReplyDeleteOMG WHAT COLOR IS THE MODEL WEARING?!?!? I NEED IT! HELP!
Is it the new shade Lavender???
Omg that Color would look good on a Gothic girl
