Swatchfest: polishes from the Wet n Wild Spoiled collection

I don't know what's more exciting: the fact that lovely reader Anita R. sent me some beautiful swatches of some of the shades in the new Wet n Wild Spoiled collection ($1.99 exclusively at CVS), or that she ALSO told me how she got these polishes! Guess what? All 72 shades are now available on the CVS website! AND, it gets better: Anita R. said shipping was only $5.49 for TWELVE bottles, and they arrived well-packaged in big, thick bubblewrap.

So for all of you who either don't live near a CVS or haven't spotted this collection in stores, you can order them here. Whoo hoo!

Per Anita R., all of the following swatches were done with three coats and no top coat.

Anita R. writes:

First Class Only—beautiful blue with mostly blue but some pink shimmer

Plenty of Fish In the Sea—blue teal shimmer

Good Karma—also teal shimmer but slightly more green than Plenty of Fish in the Sea

Use Protection—blue jelly with mixed size glitter. Dries rough. Dupe of Sinful Nail  Junkie.

Deeper Dive—dark blue teal with small flakies and shimmer. Very nice depth.

Anita R. writes:

I am so Plastered—brownish pink with loads of shimmer

Anita R. writes:

Shrimp on a Barbie—I thought this one will be a beautiful duo of gold/dark coral, but it is more a deep orange pink with gold flake shimmer

Anita R. writes:

Toad-ally Amazing—dark  mint crème base with a hint of silver shimmer

Paying with Platinum—dupe of Wet’n Wild Fast Dry Grey’s Anatomy but formula is a little thicker more opaque

Anita R. writes:

I Don’t Drink Cheap Wine—dark reddish purple with shimmer. Very similar to Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Save the Date

Are Mermaids Real?—Another bottle that I thought will be a duo, but it is a blue purple semi-sheer base with tiny gold flake shimmer. Compared to Orly Oui, Mermaids is more blue in the base color and more subtle in the gold shimmer.

Anita R. also purchased a bottle of Violet Femmes (not pictured) and she said it looks like a darker version of Sinful Colors Bali Mist.

A huge, whopping thank-you to Anita R. for the beautiful photos, descriptions, and for letting us know that these polishes are now available on the CVS website. I can't get over the fact that she only paid around five bucks in shipping for 12 bottles!

Do you own any polishes from the Spoiled collection yet? What do you think of the colors in this post?

  1. I bought 18 bottles... couldn't help myself. Only 3 are of the above shades. But I actually love them all :)

  2. I went all over town looking for these and ended up buying about 10 in one night. haven't used any yet though.
I could not, however, find the one that I REALLY wanted: ants in my pants. I'm DYING to know if it's the same as "behind closed doors" because that one never made it to my area. anyone know? I'll buy it on-line immediately if it is.

  3. also, these look awesome. I think i'll probably pick up "deeper dive," "i am so plastered," "are mermaids real?," and "i don't drink cheap wine"

  9. Haha, when I first read your tweet about this post, I thought it was going to be $5.49 TOTAL. I guess that would be too good to be true!

  10. I definitely love all the colors but the wear is not too impressive. I have one in a nude color and it cracked midway through the week. It isn't long wear because of the cracks. I suppose maybe for the darker colors, the cracks won't show as much.

  12. 'I don't drink cheap wine' has my name written all over it! I must have these nail polishes!

  14. The colors are beautiful! I would love to have a few, but dont live very close to a CVS. I especially like Shrimp on the Barbie. Great post!

  15. They're very pretty colors but, someone is rather sick for naming the heavily textured/bumpy one "Use Protection." I guess it's a reminder of what can happen if you don't?

  16. I really HATE some of the trashy names they used. A lot of young girls will buy these (esp.due to their cost) & I can't imagine them saying those names out loud. There was no reason for them to do that.

    1. I hear you. I thought 'Use Protection' is kind of trashy and dated, since that was drummed into my head when I was a teen back in the 90's, Lol. (Despite it being a good message, its a dumb name for a nail polish.)

    2. I know! The minute I saw that, I thought, "Are you serious?! Must even our NAIL POLISHES not be innocent anymore?" I mean, really, Wet n Wild???!!!!

  17. I'm glad that I CVS has Extra Bucks Rewards because I can see myself spending so much on this collection alone. At least I'll "make" some of that money back.

I love that some of the collection includes flakies and there are some great names, but "Use Protection", really?

  18. Robin: that is exactly why i was so excited to share the online ordering info at the top of this post! :) hope that helps, hun!

  19. I love Toad-ally Amazing and may have to get that one! I have Magic Carpet Ride (sheer lavender-pink shimmer) and Show Me the Money (green and gold different-sized glitter) and both are pretty but the brushes are HUGE, very wide and fluffy. A little awkward to use.

  20. great colors and amazing prices. How much better can you get? ;)

  21. I'm loving the swatches. There are too many to choose from at the store, this will help narrow it down to a few favorites to give it a try, anyway.

I'm not to thrilled with some of the names either. But whatever....

  22. I got Toad-ally last night. And I hate it! :( It was so pretty in the bottle but the brush was thick uneven and awful, the polish was thick and goopy, and its looks weird on my skin. But, it was only 1.99. :)

  23. The names, yeah back some years ago I didn't care but today I don't want teenagers to use the same polish.

  24. I was lucky enough to stumble into several displays and find lots of the ones I wanted. I got Ants in my Pants, Jewelry Heist, Pet My Peacock, Shuffle the Deck, Trust Fund Baby, Cougar Attack, Show Me the Money, Papa-Paparazzi, The Parking Meter Expired, Shrimp on the Barbie, Kickin' the Habit, 2 Weeks Sober, I'm so Jaded, Distant Memory, I Only Eat Salad, and...maybe a few more! I posted individual color chips of all of them on my Twitpic. They are really awesome! I especially love the glitters! :D

  25. We just got these at my CVS. In an attempt to mimic the new Lippman polish, Mermaid's Dream (which I have ordered but don't have yet), I'm going to layer Use Protection over Toad-ally Amazing. I suspect it will turn out darker than the Lippman polish, but I think the results will be pretty none the less.

  26. I have about 10+ bottles of this collection. I know that there are a bunch of dupes and oldies released under different names but, these are easier to find (for me anyway). I didn't have any complaints about the formula with the ones I've tried so far but .. WTF brush?? When I opened the first one I was like "dammit, a defective brush" and then as I used the others, I noticed that they ALL suck. It takes alot of getting used to. I love that it has such a wide variety of colors/glitters - but, maybe instead of spending $ on making dupes or rereleases, they could have put out less colors and spent more on DECENT BRUSHES! IMHO. :)

  27. I liked that this collection is Made in The USA. Since Wet n Wild used to be made in America but is now mostly made in China. (I say mostly because they could have some fancy eyeliner I haven't checked out that's made in Germany or something.) I've got old WnW polishes back from when they were made here.
    I just think its cool.

  28. I bought a few more of these tonight, and finally got my hands on Ants in My Pants! Super excited about that one. The names are silly, but the line is called "Spoiled" after all, so I get what kind of theme they were going for. Kids probably see worse things on the evening news. :P

    1. Ohhh, good point! Now the off-color names in the line kinda make sense... still odd that they're in there, though.

  29. Oh wow! Are Mermaids Real? is such a cool color! I totally need to pick that one up the next time I'm out. Thanks for swatching! :)
