The makeover is complete!

I'd like to thank all of you who stopped by the blog this weekend for your patience while we put the finishing touches on the new blog design. I'd also like to thank many of you for your kind words about the new design. I really appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback--it means so much to me to hear from you!

And with that, I'd like to let you know that I certainly did not accomplish this feat alone. A little while ago, a blog designer, who is also a regular reader, reached out to me to offer her services. As a fan of the blog, she let me know that she saw room for improvement in the design of the site (she was being kind--there was a lot of room for improvement!) and that she truly wanted to help make this blog the best that it could be from a visual standpoint.

Long story short, Jen from Just Foolin Blog Designs began work on the transformation, and it was a truly wonderful experience. 

If you're looking to spruce up your own blog, or you know anyone who is, I just cannot recommend Jen highly enough. She's creative, talented and, most importantly, she's completely open to collaboration. She listened to my (long) list of requirements and was always willing to take my feedback and run with it. During the design process, Jen would suggest an idea and sometimes I'd come back and say, "Well, I don't think I can really do that and here's why...". Jen would listen carefully to my concerns and somehow she always managed to come back with an even better idea.

And one more thing: for someone who is pretty much a novice at HTML, she never made me feel stupid for asking what I considered to be silly questions, and she explained things to me in a way that completely made sense.

A huge thanks to Jen, and a huge thanks to you for patience. And an especially heartfelt thanks to those of you who have been reading my blog for a long time--you've been with me through so many blog designs (some worse than others, I know) and I hope you enjoy the new and improved site.

PS: I have to give a special shout-out to my dad, who actually came up with the idea to turn the "c" in "cheap" into a cent symbol. I think that's just the perfect little touch! I made that suggestion to Jen at the very last minute and she made it happen for us, no questions asked. Jen, my dad thanks you!
