Spotted: Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquers (Apocalips) and Limited Edition Cocktail Colour Nail Polishes

The Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquers  (US name: Show Off Lip Lacquers) have landed at Walgreens! Two lovely readers spotted the display (which also includes some fun, new Limited Edition polishes) and they were nice enough to share some pics with us!

Stephanie Louise of All Things Beautiful shared these pics of the end-cap (actually, "corner" cap) display at her local Walgreens:

I think it's interesting that even though Rimmel changed the name of these lip lacquers for the US market, they kept a nod to the original UK name, Apocalips, on the display. I feel like that's a secret "wink" to us hardcore beauty junkies who have been waiting for these to come across the pond.

Lots of additional pics after the jump...

NOTE: the Show Offs are new, permanent additions to the core collection. They are NOT Limited Edition.

I'm a bit confused because Walgreens seems to be putting "Exclusively at Walgreens" on their new product displays lately (see the new Almay eye makeup removers, which are also available at Rite Aid, etc.). These lip lacquers are actually not Walgreens-exclusives because they're also available at drugstore.com. I suspect all of the other drugstores/mass retailers will be carrying these as well at some point. By the way, thanks to several of you for the tip that they're also now available on the Walgreens website, but be warned: several shades are already sold out on both websites.

Here are the new Cocktail Colour Nail Polishes:

The display indicates that the polishes are Limited Edition, so grab 'em when you see 'em (if you want some).  Stephanie said the bottles indicate that these only require "one coat." They all look to be glass flecked:

Reader Kathleen of Prettydaysies also spotted the Show Offs at her local Walgreens and was nice enough to share some pics:

I asked Kathleen if these lip colors had safety seals (you know I HATE it when drugstore glosses don't have safety seals because it's impossible to tell if they've been tested!). Kathleen was nice enough to include this photo of the seal:

She said it's one of those stickers that breaks when you twist the cap. I'm actually VERY happy that there is at least something here that we can examine before purchasing. I think it's pretty easy to tell if this seal has been 1) broken 2) peeled open.

Have any of you spotted this big Rimmel display at your local Walgreens yet? Thoughts?

Thanks SO much, Stephanie Louise and Kathleen, for the awesome pics and sightings. I really appreciate it!

  1. I saw those polishes looked at them, they look like some that I already have. I'll probably regret saying this once I see swatches.

  8. Saw this, immediately freaked out (even though I just ordered the Apocalips from ASOS) and hit up 2 Walgreens. Didn't find them :( I haven't been more excited about a new drugstore product since the Maybelline Color Tattoos! Hopefully they pop up at a store around me soon!

  12. Do I see a new Scandaleyes mascara on the bottom left? It appears to have a black tube instead of the original all-orange and a curved wand. Or am I completely mistaken? :P I do love the original Scandaleyes, which has a very divisive verdict among the beauty community.

  13. Several Walgreens here in San Antonio, Texas have the full display as shown above YAHOO!

  14. Wait.. we have 14 colors here but only 10 in the UK? Or am I wrong?

  15. I found this at the Walgreen on Navajo in San Diego although I definitely did some damage by buying 6 colors.

  16. Walgreens owns Drugstore.com so it is actually possible that they are Walgreens exclusives.

  17. I need the lip lacquers! I already know what shades I'm getting--Stellar and Big Bang!

  18. I got three of the glosses: Big Bang, Stellar and Apocalyptic. These three are cream based with no shimmer. The pigmentation is great and they aren't sticky at all. I plan on getting a few more. In love! BTW: Big Bang is a blue based red and really whitens the look of your teeth.

  19. I was wondering if when someone spots a certain product, if they put a general area they find the products eg. california, texas, I have been scrambling around and I can't find the items sometimes :/

  21. I found mine at Walgreens. Iam wearing Celestial a beautiful berry color, very pigmented. It feels like Revlon's liqu id lipstick but without the dryness. I love it!

  22. I found mine at Walgreens as well. The 1st Walgreens I went to had a full display with only 1 polish missing. The other Walgreens I went to had a a few missing and Hawaiian Punch sold out. I've been to other Walgreens that don't have any at all. These Walgreens are local to Oklahoma City. I also saw the newer Sally Hansen LE sugar coat. I should have picked them up but didn't realize until I got home that they are not the same as the original sugar coats. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
