If you're a longtime reader of this blog, then you know that I've been on a quest for the perfect blush brush for years now. In fact, in a previous Wednesday Question, I asked you to tell me your favorite affordable blush brush, and the e.l.f. Studio Blush Brush was by far the most popular answer.
So a while back, based solely on your glowing reviews, I picked this up at Target for $3 (it's also available on the e.l.f. site). Let's see if it worked for me:
e.l.f. Studio Blush Brush (retail: $3)
This a taklon (synthetic) brush, making it a vegan-friendly brush as well.
Let's cut to the chase here: I LOVE THIS BRUSH! Once again, my lovely readers have not let me down! Here are just a few reasons why this brush ROCKS:
- I hate it when a blush brush is so big that it deposits blush all the way down to my lower lip. The head on this brush is pointed and precise, yet not so small as to become ineffective. It's the PERFECT size for me to be able to apply blush to the apples of my cheeks and then sweep it up and back toward my hairline.
- The bristles are so velvety soft you'll be amazed that this is a $3 brush. Also, it's dense, but not so dense that it fails to pick up color. For me, it's the ideal density and it makes blending my blush a snap.
- I haven't experienced any shedding of bristles since I started using it about three weeks ago.
- It even comes with its own dust cover:
I love this little sleeve because not only does it protect the brush from dust and debris, but it also helps to maintain the original shape of the brush. Oh, and it's vented on the top, so if your brush isn't 100% dry after a washing, you can still slip on the sleeve and air will be able to reach the bristles.
FINAL VERDICT: For $3, this has GOT to be the best blush brush I have used in probably ten years. I still can't believe the price, and the quality just cannot be beat. If you're in the market for a great blush brush and you don't want to break the bank, I say RUN and get this one. I don't think you'll be sorry.
Do you already own the e.l.f. Studio Blush Brush? I so, how do you like it? Thanks again to EVERYONE who recommended this one to me!
i love this blush brush~perfect size for me to use!!
ReplyDeleteyup thats the one i have!! good brush for an awesome price!

ReplyDeletetoday i went to CVS to pick up Revlon Colorburst lg in Rosegold based on your review and i love it!!! now i'm thinking of going to target just to get this brush...
ReplyDeletequick ?, have you been to bath and body works yet to pick up the monthly freebie? and if so, what was it?
thanks for your awesome reviews...its saving me money.
DeyiMizu: Yay! So glad you love it too.
ReplyDeleteEv: I totally agree! :)
tiffyama: Exactly! :)
me: Oooh, I'm so glad you love Rosegold!! It's one of my favorite new drugstore glosses. And yes, the freebie this month is two of the small candles (the ones that usually come 3/$5). I'm kind of bummed it's just two of them since they retail for 3/$5, but heck, I'll take it! :)
Oh good, I'm so glad you love it too!
ReplyDeleteI use this every day, glad you like it as well :)
ReplyDeleteI want to try this brush now! :)
ReplyDeleteI use this brush for my foundation brush, it gives me a flawless look, it reminds me of the mac 109 :)
ReplyDelete100% agree with you. This is by far one of my favorite brushes. I love that it's small enough to actually deposit blush where you want it to go!!
ReplyDeleteAmy
If you like it then you should definitely try their powder brush, also from the studio line!
ReplyDeleteI bought the whole Studio brush set off of the ELF website (I got the glitter set) and I love them all. The complexion brush is so soft and works really well with the Complexion Perfection powder (another love of mine).
ReplyDeleteHonestyly I thought it was a little too thin for me. I love the ecotools smaller blush brush. It came in the alicia set and is smaller than their regular line one. love it!
ReplyDeleteYes I own this brush and agree with you, the size and shape is perfect.
ReplyDeleteI bought this brush over the weekend, and I'm impressed by it so far.
ReplyDeleteA bunch of ELF brushes are showing up at Dollar Tree if anyone is interested, it's just the regular line, which of course always sell for $1 anyway, but if you haven't been able to find them at Target (my Target is really limited in what they have and are sold out many times) then you could always check there. I bought 6 brushes today.
ReplyDeletei like this review~ should have more reviews of products from readers' suggestions :]
ReplyDeleteIve seen similar dome shaped blush brushes at MAC but never knew ELF carried something like this. Will have to go to Tartget not to pick this up.
ReplyDeleteI have not yet tried this brush but I'm always willing to try new things. Plus I'm in the market for new brushes (when am I not, though). Thanks G, I will definitely be heading over to Target to pick this up.
ReplyDeleteMy Target does not have this brush, but I stopped at a Super Target tonight and they had them! I bought one and can not wait to use it. Thanks for the review.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great brush! I will have to check it out!
ReplyDeletei love it, i use it everyday :)
