Haha. Sorry, I know traditional bb creams cater to a very select range of skin tones, I just wish that there was more than ONE fake option (Maybelline's-not-even-a-real-bb-cream) when it came to using them.

You'd figure we have the technology to make the idea of a bb cream work for a wider range of skintones, but it's just insulting sometimes because it feels like 'we' are left out of the trends.

Not to mention finding affordable and easy to find shades of regular foundation with a variety of shades is a nightmare anyway. :c

I know there's really nothing people can do about the lack of diversity in commercial products, but I always get really excited when I see new items on your blog only to be disappointed that not one shade in the line would even come close to my skin tone.

That's why I just stick to nail polish. lol. :PAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-923437194678664102.post-54162678856297636842012-12-07T20:51:21.388-08:002012-12-07T20:51:21.388-08:00Huh. I would actually think about picking it up if not for the crappy shade range, especially when I'm an NC42 -_-Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10266188013827781148noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-923437194678664102.post-5439337235881716522012-12-07T07:45:26.447-08:002012-12-07T07:45:26.447-08:00Wow nice TWO shade range...what in the world is wr...Wow nice TWO shade range...what in the world is wrong with these companies!! That's why I was happy to see Maybelline offer deeper shades in their BB Cream (although it's not really a BB cream...it's a very good tinted moisturizer). I agree that in the US and elsewhere it would be wonderful to have a wider range, but I also think it's important to keep in mind that the original premise of the BB cream is to offer only a few shades that self-adjust (so the argument about not having suitable shades for deeper skintones holds true for lighter skintones as well--I hear tons of complaints from very fair-skinned readers who can't find a bb cream that works for them). Hope that makes sense!

Also, I'm very excited to see IMAN's bb cream line, which promises to offer a wide range for every skintone (I posted about it a while back). I've heard that Palmer's bb cream offers shades for deeper skintones too (they have a medium/dark shade) but I haven't been able to find their bb creams anywhere in my area yet. :(G.https://www.blogger.com/profile/16658662222451658254noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-923437194678664102.post-78615232081632074362012-12-06T18:44:37.618-08:002012-12-06T18:44:37.618-08:00I feel like that's just an excuse to neglect d...I feel like that's just an excuse to neglect darker skintones.

Sure in Asia where there isn't such a heavy 'ethnic' demographic to cater to, and their ideal is lighter skin, so they can get away with it.

But really? In 2012-almost-2013 America? Where there's a good percentage of the country with darker skin that's exlcuded shade-wise from most general foundation products anyway? This is just annoying at this point.

Pretty sure if I swatched this on my skin it would 'adjust' into an ashy, chalky mess. :(Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-923437194678664102.post-39101920390355333522012-12-06T16:05:30.223-08:002012-12-06T16:05:30.223-08:00Actually, this seems to be one of the things that ...Actually, this seems to be one of the things that US BB creams are resembling when it comes to original Asian BB creams, which traditionally only come in two or three shades due to their color-adjusting properties. I don't know if this particular BB cream will adjust to all skintones of course, but that is the premise behind true BB creams.G.https://www.blogger.com/profile/16658662222451658254noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-923437194678664102.post-54876196715021939062012-12-06T15:45:55.380-08:002012-12-06T15:45:55.380-08:00Wow two whole shades?!
