Spotted: New Kiss Everlasting Gel Polish Color Gel, French Manicure Kit and LED Gel Lamp

Guess who else is jumping into the drugstore gel polish ring? Kiss! Melissa spotted some new Kiss gel nail products at Walgreens recently and was nice enough to share:

There's also a tear-pad on this display with coupons for $4 off your purchase. Melissa said the retail price was $31.99 (I'm assuming she meant for the lamp--Melissa, if you're reading this, please let me know if I'm right about that? Thanks!).

Thanks so much, Melissa, for the great sighting and pic!

  1. Yes, The price for the lamp was $31.99. It was on the top of the shelf, so I had to ask the associate to scan I for me. They were very busy putting out all the new product displays. I'll be going back tomorrow to search for more goodies!

  2. Interesting that ~$32 is about the exact same price point as the Sally Hansen kit I just purchased at CVS.

  4. I'm so hard on my nails that the thought of doing a gel manicure at home is exciting. I will wait for reviews before pulling the trigger though.

  7. I'm a little suspicious that this lamp is only $30. Has anyone tried it? I don't see what the wattage of it is anywhere on the packaging or when I do a search.

  8. So I bought one of these lamps...but ended up returning it. I had been under the impression that gel polishes could be cured with EITHER an ultraviolet (UV) lamp OR a light-emitting diode (LED) lamp. The way they are marketed, I was led to believe that the LED lamps were safer because they did not use UV radiation. Wrong. When I put my hand under the LED lights, my fingernails.were glowing. "Hmmm," I thought, "that's strange." So I started scouring the instruction booklet to see if I could find more info about the bulbs. That's when I spotted the warning stating that the lamp emits UV radiation. Sorry, but nice nails are just not worth a possible increase in my risk for skin cancer. I realize the exposures are relatively short and may pose no more risk than being outdoors regularly, but I also feel like it should be my right to make a fully informed decision about it. Perhaps this is old news to most people and they have known that the LED lamps also use UV, but I, for one, was surprised by this and wanted to share.
