HOT DEAL ALERT: 50% off Clarisonic and More at Macy's (Free Shipping)

Thanks so much to reader @adri.gaby15 for the hot tip about this one!

No time to waste here because things are selling out quickly. Many HOT 50% off Clarisonic and StriVectin deals on the Macy's sale page HERE (free shipping on all beauty orders). If you want to go directly to the Mia 2 deal, CLICK HERE. You get the set pictured above for $81.12 (reg $169). In case you were curious, the lowest I have ever seen this go is $74.50, when Clarisonic ran a deal back in August of 2016. HOWEVER, the last time Clarisonic ran a deal like this was in November of 2016, and the sale price was $84.50. So I don't know if they'll ever offer the Mia 2 for $74.50 again. Just want to put that out there!

Thanks again, @adri.gaby15, for the hot tip!

  1. I was wondering -- how does the name brand Clarisonic compare to the knock-off made by Ulta, which is significantly cheaper? Do you think that the price difference is worth it, or is the up-charge specifically tied to brand name recognition?

    1. I wish I could answer that for you, but I haven't tried them. My best advice would be to check out all the various Clarisonic dupe videos on YouTube:

    2. The clarisonic brush heads use ultrasonic vibration to basically vibrate the dirt, etc off of your skin. You shouldn't be using any pressure with it against your skin. You want to glide it along your skin, no scrubbing necessary. The majority of other brushes spin to scrub your skin can be fairly harsh on your face. Your skin does not need to be buffed the way your car tires do! If you've never used one before, go slowly and work your way up to using it daily. Start with once or twice a week until your skin is OK with it. I personally only use mine at night time because twice a day was just too much.

As far as brush heads go, they recommend a new brush head every 3-4 months based on daily usage. Same as your toothbrush, they are covered with an antimicrobial film that eventually wears away. If you wash your brush head with soap after every use it will prevent gross makeup buildup and allow you to use it longer before needing to replace it. Also make sure to store it sideways and let it dry completely between uses to keep prevent bacterial growth.

  2. G, I'd been talking non-stop about buying this and almost bit the bullet last night, but I'm so glad I waited! I'm also curious-- are you aware of the brush heads ever going on sale? Will my best bet just be to sit around and wait for the VIB sale every year? That's why I was hesitating to buy this-- not just the initial cost, but the ongoing cost of replacing the brush head. Thank you again for all your work!

    1. Awww, I'm so sorry, Melissa! The 4-pack of brush heads were JUST 20% off two days ago at Ulta, but for for 1 day only (these: http://bit.ly/2kLEZfs). As a kind reader mentioned that day, that discount brought them down to $16.73 a piece vs. the usual $27. The good thing is that Ulta offers 20% off codes on prestige beauty and skincare a few times a year, so I would definitely add that 4-pk to your favorites and then you'll be all ready to go the next time they issue one of those codes. :)

    2. OMG, I can't believe how expensive they are without a discount-- hopefully I won't regret this! Thanks so much again and thank you for responding, G. :)

    3. Melissa, you may prefer the name brand brush heads for the Clairsonic, but I wanted to mention the generic ones I have been buying for a few years now. I think the last time I bought some I paid $2 each on eBay! I'm not sure how they feel compared to the actual name brand ones (I haven't had a name brand brush head in a LONG time), but I usually grab the ones that are for sensitive skin. They work great!

    4. You can buy amazing generic brush heads from Amazon for the Clarasonic. That's what I do for my Mia 2.

      Example: https://www.amazon.com/Greeninsync-Compatible-Replacement-1Sensitive-Cleansing/dp/B00PEJAWCI/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1485820349&sr=8-1&keywords=clarisonic+mia+brush+heads

    5. I'll just chime in here to note that the generic brush heads from Amazon are just as good as the name brand ones, for only about $6 each. There are various sellers, but I like to buy listings that have plenty of positive reviews, just in case.

  3. I also bought a few brush heads last year during one of Ulta's 21 Days of Beauty events held in March & September, I think. They were either half off or buy one get one free. No difference if you buy multiples of two. These only applied to the single face brush heads, not duos or 4-packs, but you could mix & match the varieties. Hope this helps!

  4. If you search the Beautypedia/Paula's Choice website, there is a very informative video which explains the difference.
