  1. I'm disappointed they show all the contents in advent callendars these days! The element of surprise should be the soul of these!

    1. I think it's difficult to do that with beauty-related Advent calendars, because they're usually more expensive and people want to know what they're getting before they commit. I have seen lots of candy advent calendars (a few new ones on the Target website, actually) that do not reveal the contents. Of course those are $2.99 each so it's not a big risk. :)

    2. Many (most?) advent calendars are 25 days, so I first thought they were just teasing by only showing half the products, which would have made it more fun. I agree, Beatylicionista, and will pass on this, though I see where people might want this -- especially for all those Secret Santa/White Elephant exchanges that pop up in the next month or two. Would also be great for getting a bunch of stocking stuffers.

    3. I believe that, traditionally, there are 24 gifts (Christmas being the day you get your "big" gifts") but some advent calendars are more of a "12 Days of Christmas" type of thing, like this one, the Ulta one (link below) and others. :)

    4. I can see your point about wanting to be surprised by beauty related Advent calendars but on the other hand, one might not want to pay $25+ for a bunch of foil packets.

  3. Thanks so much for posting this! I really love the way the U.K. Beauty brands do these and I wonder if there is a safe & economical way to get them shipped to the USA??? Particularly interested in the Tanya Burr one. Any suggestions? (Thanks for all your hard work!!)

    1. You're so welcome! If you're talking about third party shipper, I'm sorry but I have no idea. I have ordered from ASOS many times (in the UK) and I know they are quite reliable and have an advent calendar, but beyond that I'm afraid I can't help.

    2. PS: see my comment below for a list of US advent calendars if you need ideas for some that you don't have order from the UK. :)

  5. Hey G, Black Friday deals are starting to pop up on bfads dot net and the black friday dot com (Not sure if this violates your links policy -- sorry if it does!) . In the CVS ad there's a good deal where you can get three wet n wild sets for 99 cents each after coupon and extra bucks. One of the sets has the comfort zone palette and some other eye stuff in it, one is nail polish, and one looks like mascara. Kohls is also doing Real Techniques Brush sets for 50% off! (Not sure if all sets or just some - the one featured in the promo was this one http://www.kohls.com/product/prd-2651873/real-techniques-5-pc-your-picks-brush-set-limited-edition.jsp.) Have a great day and thanks for all your hard work! Love, a procrastinating college student :)

    1. Thanks, Emma! I am aware of the ads but thank you so much for making sure I knew! I am working on my annual Black Friday/Cyber Monday round-up which will go live this week. It's overwhelming me a bit right now because I am also sent sale info directly from brands and PR, so it's taking me a while to compile the list and include those PLUS all of the info from the ads that are now online. But it will all be up soon, I promise!

    1. The name alone just sounds so lovely to me! So glad to hear you like it. :)

  7. Any idea what shade of NYX Xtreme Lip Cream? I have two and one of them I adore but one is way too bright. If it's a color I like, I think I'll pull the trigger on this calendar!

And thank you for all I do! Yours is now my favorite beauty blog by far.
