Two New Additions to the Sally Hansen Big Line: Big Primer Base Coat & Big Cuticle Oil

Attention Sally Hansen fans! Did you know that there are two new treatments coming soon to a drugstore near you? You may have already spotted these out in the wild (the press info I received indicated that these started to hit stores in June) but in case you haven't seen them yet, here you go!

Smoother color goes prime time! Big Primer Base Coat™ delivers the smoothest base for the ultimate color experience. The advanced formula fills in ridges and imperfections so color can glide on seamlessly and helps protect nails from chipping. This nail primer is enriched with a silk fiber blend that helps to level out the nail surface for a “just-buffed” nail effect, so you can feel confident wearing it alone or under polish. Take your nail surface to the next level with this formaldehyde- and toluene-free formula.

INGREDIENTS: BUTYL ACETATE, ETHYL ACETATE, NITROCELLULOSE, ADIPIC ACID/NEOPENTYL GLYCOL/TRIMELLITIC ANHYDRIDE COPOLYMER, ACETYL TRIBUTYL CITRATE, ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL, TALC, STEARALKONIUM BENTONITE, ACRYLATES COPOLYMER, HYDROGENATED CASTOR OIL/ SEBACIC ACID COPOLYMER, SERICA POWDER/SILK POWDER/POUDRE DE SOIE, STYRENE/ACRYLATES COPOLYMER, BENZOPHENONE-1, SILICA, AQUA/WATER/EAU, TOCOPHERYL ACETATE, TRIMETHYLPENTANEDIYL DIBENZOATE, METHYLPROPANEDIOL, METHYLTHIOPROPYLAMIDO ACETYL METHIONINE, MAGNESIUM ASCORBYL PHOSPHATE, [May Contain/Peut Contenir/+/-:TITANIUM DIOXIDE (CI 77891), IRON OXIDE (CI 77491), FD&C YELLOW NO. 5 ALUMINUM LAKE (CI 19140)].

Condition and nourish dehydrated cuticles and nails with this luscious Coconut scented oil!  Sally Hansen’s Big Cuticle Oil™ provides much needed moisture for ragged nail beds. This quick-absorbing formula leaves cuticles and nails deeply hydrated, soft and healthy-looking while helping to defend against harsh, drying environmental elements faced daily. The formula is enriched with Coconut, Apricot Kernel oils plus Vitamin E.

INGREDIENTS: CARTHAMUS TINCTORIUS (SAFFLOWER) SEED OIL, TOCOPHERYL ACETATE, ISOCETYL ALCOHOL, CYCLOPENTASILOXANE, CYCLOHEXASILOXANE, PARFUM/FRAGRANCE, PANTHENOL, PROPYLPARABEN, PRUNUS ARMENIACA (APRICOT) KERNEL OIL, TRITICUM VULGARE (WHEAT) GERM OIL, AQUA/WATER/EAU, COCOS NUCIFERA (COCONUT) OIL, PARAFFINUM LIQUIDUM/MINERAL OIL/HUILE MINERALE, ALOE BARBADENSIS LEAF EXTRACT, CITRIC ACID, BHT.

Thoughts? I'm wondering if the primer base coat is dupe-ish for the Zoya Naked Manicure polishes? I'm sort of getting that vibe since it's tinted and they state that you can wear it alone. Hum...

  1. Ooh, that's exciting! I'm almost out of my Essie Ridge Filler, I think I'll be on the lookout for this instead.

  2. If I'm not mistaken, the Big Cuticle Oil is in the Allure Beauty Thrills box. That's the first I had seen of it. Also curious about the base coat as well. I'll have to wait for reviews.

  3. Excellent. I've been looking for an affordable ridge filler for my toenails. I already use Sally Hansen Maximum Strength base coat as a treatment/ridge filling base coast for my finger nails where extra strength is needed and don't want to waste it, since it can be hard to find. Now if only SH would come out with a think top coat for glitter polishes.

    1. The "big" in the name is a bit misleading, as the bottles are 0.4 ounces instead of the normal 0.5 ounces that most bottles are. I've never really been clear what the "big" is supposed to be referring to.

  6. Too bad the cuticle oil has mineral oil in it. I'm always on the lookout for a new and better cuticle oil.
