The Lipstick League - Week of 8.8.16

The Lipstick League Question of the Week:

Do you use cotton pads at any point in your skincare routine? If yes, do you have a favorite brand or type?

G's answer: when I use eye makeup remover, I only use Shiseido Facial Cotton these days. They are truly the softest cotton pads (in my opinion), and softness is a priority when it comes to the eye area. That said, if I'm using my Garnier Micellar Water, I use a Bounty or Viva paper towel on the rest of my face (Shiseido Facial Cotton on my eyes). Those paper towels are soft when saturated, and one paper towel can remove an entire face of makeup (vs. having to use several cotton pads).

  2. I really only use cotton pads for polish removal. I usually get them at Walmart or Target. Not too picky on the type just the size.

  3. About a year and a half ago, Ralphs had packages of cotton rounds( their brand) on clearance for .39 a package. I bought all 17 packages and just recently finished them. I did give some away.

  4. I do use cotton pads to remove makeup when I use micellar water or apply toner (I don't use toner much, though). I don't have any particular brand loyalty, however. If I buy something and it seems too rough for my face, I use them to remove nail polish.

  5. I used to use cotton pads and olive or coconut oil to remove makeup, but then I discovered cheap makeup removal wipes at Ross and TJ Maxx.

  6. I use cotton rounds for toner and finger nail polish removal. Tried the Dollar Tree one and very flakey and shed. Just got the White Cloud from Walmart to try soon. Would love to order the nice ones from Sephora don't remember the brand but looks like a big bag and said not to shed.
