Spotted: New Products from Yes To, Burt's Bees, EOS and Secret

image credit: @christoooph3r for Nouveau Cheap

I am seriously behind on my new drugstore sightings and thank goodness the crazy sales have let up a bit so that I have time to focus on some new products now hitting stores! In a perfect world, I would have the time to post about sales, new products and do product reviews every single day. But when the sales are intense, the sightings and reviews tend to take a back seat. My goal is always to cover crazy deals first (since those end so quickly, I try to post about them the moment I hear about them) and then squeeze in sightings and reviews whenever I can. So I thank you for your patience and understanding and if you have submitted sightings to me and you haven't seen them here, I deeply apologize. I wish I could write 20 blog posts per day and cover everything I want to cover, but sometimes the sales just won't let up (and believe me, I don't even cover half of the sales I'd like to cover most days). But now I'm rambling so let me shut up and get back to the topic of this blog post, eh?

I have new sightings for you thanks to my pal and longtime reader Christopher (@christoooph3r on Instagram)!

Yes To Miracle Oil Argan Lip Oil and Primrose Lip Oil

So the Yes To Miracle Oil Argan Oil Mud Mask and Primrose Oil Mud Mask have been available at Ulta for about a month now, but I didn't know there were also lip oils in this new line, did you? Christopher spotted these at Walmart last week. The retail price at Drugstore.com is $4.99 (0.12 oz.) so I'm guessing the Walmart price is a bit lower. I loved the Yes To Coconut Cooling Lip Oil (click here for my review) so I'm optimistic about these!

Right: Yes to Miracle Oil Argan Oil Cleansing + Moisturizing Facial Wipes

Christopher also spotted the new Yes to Miracle Oil Argan Oil and towelettes at Walmart last week. The towelettes are on the Target website for $5.99 (30 sheets) and the Argan Oil is also on the Target website for $12.99 (1.0 oz.).

I also noticed that there are Yes to Miracle Oil Primrose Cleansing + Moisturizing Facial Wipes on the Target website for $5.99 as well.

eos Active Protection Fresh Grapefruit Sunscreen Lip Balm SPF 30

Over at Walgreens, Christopher spotted this new eos lip balm with SPF 30. As far as I know, the only other current eos lip balm with SPF is Lemon Drop, and that one contains SPF 15. So this is great news if you love eos and want a higher SPF, right? This lip balm is currently on sale at Drugstore.com for $2.99 (reg $3.29).

Burt's Bees Strawberry Moisturizing Lip Balm

Christopher also spotted the new Burt's Bees Strawberry Lip Balm, which I had no idea even existed! Way back in the day, Burt's Bees made a strawberry lip gloss in a pot (remember this one?) but I'm thrilled to see them come out with a lip balm. You can now get this on the Burt's Bees website ($3.30), at Ulta ($3.29), and at Target ($3.29).

Secret Scent Expressions Clear Gel in Macaroon Delight

And last but certainly not least, longtime reader Jennifer (@rockgirlmaxim84 on Instagram) kindly shared this pic of the new Secret Scent Expressions scent in Macaroon Delight that she spotted out in the wild recently (it's also available in Invisible Solid for $4.39 at Target).

One of my pet peeves is when people misuse the word "macaroon". Macaroons are a type of cookie made with coconut (similar to haystacks). A macaron is a type of french pastry that has the structure of a sandwich (a top, bottom, and filling the middle). Clearly, Secret is referring to macarons here (see image on label) but they're calling them macaroons. Ugh. Sorry--that just bugs me because it's not a macaroon!

At any rate, I love macarons (correctly spelled or otherwise) and this deodorant looks so fun to me. Have you tried it yet? Thoughts?

Thanks again, Christopher and Jennifer, for the great sightings and pics. I really appreciate it!

  2. I was super for a second thinking it was macaroon (aka coconut scented) but then I saw your comment, noticed the picture on front and realized it's probably just vanilla scented (macaron). Utter disappointment.

    2. I have the Macaroon Delight deodorant and it smells like a sweet vanilla, maybe with a touch of coconut. Mostly a sweet vanilla scent.

  3. Gah! Grapefruit EOS?? *grabby hands* and those are my all time fav deodorants - I just bought some online and paid a small ransom to ship them to the UK. Will be worth it. I also saw a Black EOS online? Ay more on that?

    1. I must have the new grapefruit eos!! Hopefully it pops up at Walgreens soon...I saw the black eos on Walgreens.com and Drugstore.com and the description said it is a pearl shimmer but it didn't say what scent/flavor it is. Walgreens.com said it was in stock at my local store so I am going to swing by and check it out! Can you tell I am addicted to EOS? It's a problem.

    1. Me too. I saw this deodorant at Walmart and I wondered what it smelled like? G is right about Macaroons being made with coconut but a Macaron can be any flavor, really. I took the cap off to see if I could get a whiff but it also has a protective seal so I couldn't smell anything. I find it utterly fascinating that P&G's marketing dept. or really anyone involved in the making of this deodorant didn't catch this mistake.

    2. I'm right there with you, too. I tried explaining the difference to some family members one time, and they just couldn't care less. Haha...

  7. That macaron vs macaroon argument is as old as time & it bothers the crap out of me too. :)

  8. If totally forgotten about hose pitted Burt's Bees lip balms! I used to sell the line at an indie gift shop when it was pretty new on the scene. I used my potted lip balm so hard!!!

  9. Someone please let me know if that Burt bees strawberry lip balm is similar to the old one that was in a glass jar! I want to know if it still has that strawberry taste to it

  10. Does anyone have an idea where these lip oils maybe be displayed at Walmart? Looked in cosmetics and the lip balm section yesterday. Came up empty.

  11. Stopped at Target yesterday and here's my take on Burt's Bees Strawberry and the Macaron/Macaroon from Secret:

I too was excited for Strawberry from Burt's Bees. I usually LOVE strawberry lip products. This one? Not so much. When I open the top, I don't get any strawberry scent. I got really, really close, and whatever smell it is, it's not strawberry. The consistency isn't as solid as their original formula, it's a little smooshy if you will. It goes on just fine, but it's more like it's coming from a pot than a tube. On the lips, there isn't any noticeable strawberry scent or taste. What I do get is waxy oddness. So much so that here I am trying it again, and I am going to get up from my keyboard now and TAKE IT OFF! Seriously, I just did and now I'm back. So, this one is a total no-go for me. If I remember to take it with my on my next Target run, I'll return it. Such a bummer as I love Burt's Bees, especially their new CC cream.

For the deodorant...a comment above said it would most likely be vanilla, and it is, but not what you'd think. When I think vanilla in the cosmetics/body care world, I think vanilla candles and such, the "here's your vanilla from a lab" smell. Now I love this type of vanilla, but I like this deodorant even better. Why? Because it smells like vanilla extract. That amazing smell we cherished as kids when cupcakes and cookies would be our next meal. The one we loved soooooo much we just HAD to taste it even though our moms warned us against it. (And then we did and were soooooo confused.) So, Secret's macaron/macaroon is scented like baking vanilla. It's unexpected and completely welcome. Now I smell like a cookie vs. a candle. I'll take it!
