Summer Beauty Picks from Nordstrom

The first day of Summer is this Monday, June 20th, but I know it already feels like summer in many parts of the US. If you're already in a summer state-of-mind, then you're probably thinking of sunscreens, tanners, bronzers and the like because it's definitely that time of year again!

I've partnered with Nordstrom to bring you some affordable summer beauty ideas that you may not even know you can purchase at Nordstrom (and some of them are on sale right now). Below you''ll find my own personal picks from Nordstrom's Sexy Summer Must-Haves, which is a section on their website that contains lots of ideas for summer beauty. As always, free shipping on all orders at Nordstrom, plus your choice of three free samples with all beauty orders.

All of the items on my list below are products that I either own or want to own. Click an image below to go directly to the item listing on the Nordstrom website (or click the links at the bottom of this page):

Sigma Limelight Powder Bronzer - retail: $12
Considering that you can easily pay $12 (or more) for a drugstore bronzer these days, I love that you can now get Sigma at Nordstrom, with free shipping (and samples). This is a cool-toned, matte bronzer that has received some nice reviews online (I hear it's smooth and nicely pigmented), so I wanted to include it here.

Supergoop! Forever Young Hand Cream with Sea Buchthorn SPF 40 - retail: $12 (1.0 oz. tube)
Here's a product I'm currently obsessing over. A hand cream that also contains SPF 40? Yes, please. I actually had a deluxe sample of this that I used up a while back and I loved it. It's the perfect product to apply when you're in the car (I don't know about you, but those sneaky sun's rays always seem to find their way to my hands and arms when I'm driving).

Coola Suncare Liplux Sun Treatment SPF 30 - retail: $12
This lip balm is no joke with its SPF 30. It receives five star ratings all over the web, so I wanted to feature it here since I know a lot of you love SPF in your lip balms.

Clinique Brush-On Cream Liner - retail: $16.50; currently on sale for $14.85
Who doesn't love a good waterproof cream liner? I've heard this one doesn't budge, and the sale price is comparable to some drugstore liners I own. I have my eye on this one (pun intended).

Paula's Choice Sun 365 Self Tanning Foam - retail: $16
Did you know that Nordstrom carries Paula's Choice? That means free shipping and samples whenever you need your fix. I am featuring this self-tanning foam because it gets high marks online (I'm not a self-tanning gal, but I know that a lot of you are!).

St. Tropez Self Tan Classic Tanning Mousse - retail: $18 (1.7 oz.), currently on sale for $16.20
I also wanted to mention this one since it's one of the most popular and highly-rated self tanners currently on the market.

Clinique Sun Broad Spectrum SPF 45 Advanced Protection Stick - retail: $21; currently on sale for $18.90
I love the idea of a stick SPF to easily apply (and re-apply) to my lips, nose, scars, the tops of my hands, etc. And this one gets many raves from the beauty community. I'm actually surprised I haven't already tried this one since I'm all about obsessive sunscreen application in the summertime.

Lancome Juicy Shaker Bi-Phase Lip Oil - retail: $21; currently on sale for $18.90
I have been testing two of these lip oils for an upcoming review, but since they're on sale right now let me give you a big spoiler: I love them. The colors are subtle, but I absolutely love the way these feel on my lips and they're the perfect summertime lip product for when you don't want to feel too "made up" and also need some nice hydration. Plus that packaging is adorable, right?

Clinique Super City Block Oil-Free Daily Face Protector Broad Spectrum SPF 40 - retail: $24; currently on sale for $21.60
I recently noticed people raving about this Clinique facial sunscreen on a beauty message board. I have since discovered that many, many people swear by it and now I feel like I need to try it since I have yet to find my holy grail facial sunscreen.

Bobbi Brown Protective Face Base SPF 50 - retail: $42; currently on sale for $37.80
I know the price of this product is steep by Nouveau Cheap standards, but hear me out! Bobbi Brown reformulated this product (I know that the old formula wasn't as well-received), and it serves two purposes: it's a makeup primer AND a sunscreen. I've seen so many raves about this new formulation--I just had to include it (especially since it's on sale). I have oily skin and try to avoid multiple layers of product on my face during the warmer months, so I'm obsessed with the idea of this product.

Have you tried any of the items on my list? You know I would love to hear from you!

  1. LOVE the Lancome Juicy Shakers as well! I have three of them...so far. I've been slowly ordering them as each dept. store has a gift with purchase so I can at least justify ordering them (haha).

    1. So glad to hear that you're loving them too, Carol! They feel so nice on the lips, don't they? Which shades do you own? :)

    2. Yes, they feel great and I love the sheer wash of color they give. So far I have Bohemian Raspberry (had to get that just for the name), Apri-cute and Wondermelon. Love! And the flavors are excellent too. All around just a fantastic lipgloss!

  3. Juicy Shakers are too cute. I have Berry in Love (which I thought would be too dark), Wonder Melon (which I thought could be too bright), Piece of Cake and Vanilla Pop. They are all sheer and beautiful. Wish I had them all!

  4. Does it dry out your lips? I read some reviews claiming it dried out the user's lips, so I wasn't sure if I should try it because my lips are seriously dry.

  6. I'm so glad you mentioned a hand cream with SPF. My favorite is actually by Jergens. I feel like so many people forget about their hands and I apply that stuff obsessively!
