Spotted: NEW Revlon Super Lustrous Sheer Lipstick Shades (Permanent)

New Revlon Super Lustrous Sheer Lipstick Shades at Rite Aid

Revlon has just launched THREE new Super Lustrous Sheer Lipsticks shades and I have a pic for you today, thanks to reader G. of Visage Maquillage blog! G spotted this display at her local Rite Aid this week.

I enlarged/cropped G's pic above for a closer look:

NEW SHADE:
Peach Parfait

If "Peach Parfait" sounds familiar to you, you are not alone! This was the name of one of the now-discontinued Colorburst Lip Butters. I have no idea how similar this new Super Lustrous Sheer Lipstick will be to the old Colorburst Lip Butter, but hopefully it will be a nice alternative if you loved that lip butter shade.

NEW SHADES:
Berry Smoothie, Pink Truffle

And if "Berry Smoothie" and "Pink Truffle" also sound familiar to you, you're not alone! These two names are ALSO the names of two of the former Colorburst Lip Butter shades which you can view HERE and HERE.

Again, I have no idea how similar these new Super Lustrous Sheer Lipstick shades are to the old Colorburst Lip Butter shades, but something tells me that if Revlon is recycling the names, it's probably no coincidence and that the colors will be similar, if not dupes.

Thanks again, G., for the great sighting and pics!

  1. Thank you for the post. Revlon is my favorite drug store brand for lip products. I wonder if these new shades/formulas are the reason why Revlon is on clearance at Ulta?

    1. I didn't know Revlon was on clearance at Ulta. Do you mean the current 40% off sale? Thanks! :)

  2. Wow I missed the news last year that the lip butters were discontinued. I'm so surprised too, I thought they were extremely popular. Juicy Papaya was my favorite shade so now I don't know what i'm going to do when I run out. I don't love typical lipstick formulas and don't love the Super Lustrous packaging but I wonder how the sheers compare to the lip butters?

    1. Last month, I went through my lipstick stash and came across about six or seven lip butters that hadn't even been opened. I got sidelined with wearing the Revlon Lip Balms that look like Clinique's Chubby Sticks. Well, I'm wearing them now and they're fabulous! I'm kicking myself now that they're all but gone.

    2. You can still find the lip butters at Big Lots if you have any in your area (usually around $2) and I noticed that a few shades are still on the Ulta site, the Target site (Target has more shades than Ulta), and also Amazon (links to some of those listings are in my post above). Hope that helps!

  3. I hope they're the same colors as the lip butters but lighter and sheerer. That was my one gripe with the butters, that they got too soft when it was warm out and often broke. Plus I love sheer lippies.

    1. I haven't tried the sheer finish lipsticks yet, but I did review one of the SHINE finish lipsticks back when they first came out (I'm guessing you remember that because I know you've been with me forever!) and I really, really liked that one. I hope they're similar!

    2. I do remember those. I had one and liked it a lot.

  4. When I first read about these shades I figured they had finally discontinued the rest of the lip butters and just added the most popular shades to this line. I don't understand why Revlon discontinues some of it's bestselling products. They own Almay and came out with something similar in a balm, so maybe that's why. The shades don't appeal to me, though.

    1. And Almay will probably keep their lip butters around forever. Their glosses have been around so long that some are changing color in the drugstores I frequent. Now the Almay butters and glosses are nice and all, but the Revlon butters had more variety with colors and felt nicer.

  5. Random thought, does anyone know why everyone is reformulating their lipsticks? Did a key ingredient price go up?

  6. Those are my 3 favorite lip butter shades! I hope that I can track these down, even though I still have the Lip Butters.

  7. Hey G, I actually bought the Pink Truffle one, since the Lip Butter in that color is my absolute FAVORITE, and it's the same tone but the lip butter is more pigmented.

  8. I will be trying these! Revlon is my all time favorite drugstore lip products brand!!!

  9. I do remember those. I had one of the shiny ones myself and liked the formula a lot.

  10. Those are the 3 shades that I bought in Lip Butters all the time!!! I hate the fact that it got discontinued. What's weird is that I can still find it at HEB and my neighborhood Walgreens (in San Antonio). I had stocked up on lip butters when the announcement was made of it being discontinued, but I will keep an eye out for those lipsticks. I personally love Pink Truffle. It's my "your lips but better" shade.

  11. CVS has these. So far I haven't seen the new shades anywhere else. (Revlon is buy one get one half off and there's a three-dollar coupon this week, by the way.) I bought Peach Parfait and Pink Truffle, two of my favorite Lip Butters. (I have a picture of both Pink Truffles on my Instagram. I can email you the link if you like.) Both are quite sheer and lack the tackiness of the Lip Butters. Revlon took out Peach Parfait's chunky glitter, too. A good thing IMO.

  12. Peach Parfait was also a lip butter! That one and Berry Smoothie were my two favorite colors-so glad they brought them back in this formula
