New LORAC Limited Edition Spring 2016 Value Sets

As you all know, I don't cover new launches from higher-end beauty brands here on Nouveau Cheap. But I DO cover new value set launches from higher-end brands (because, you know, I'm all about the savings!). So today I'd like to share with you the new LORAC Spring 2016 value sets that are coming your way!

LORAC Limited Edition Soft to Smokey Eye Collection
(retail: $30; Ulta-exclusive)

This set will be an Ulta-exclusive and it will be available both in-store and online. As of the time of this post, this set is not yet on the Ulta website, but it should be available HERE very soon.

Set includes:
  • Mini Behind the Scenes Eye Primer
  • Soft to Smokey Eyeshadow Palette
  • Front of the Line PRO Eye Pencil in Black (full-size)
  • Cobra Mascara (full-size)

Just the Cobra Mascara ($20 retail) and Front of the Line PRO Eye Pencil ($21 retail) are more than the price of this entire set.

Here's a closer look at the palette:

PLEASE NOTE: The image directly above is the most accurate, color-wise, of this palette. The first image (group shot) is making the colors seem warmer than they really are. I received this confirmation directly from LORAC's PR, so I hope that helps clear up any confusion!

Lips by LORAC Limited Edition Alter Ego Lip Collection
(retail: $32; Kohl's-exclusive)

This set is a Kohl's-exclusive and it is available now on the Kohl's site here (and also in select stores).

Set includes:
  • All new limited edition shades
  • Three Alter Ego Lipsticks (full-size)
  • Three matching Alter Ego Lip Glosses (full-size)

As you probably know, the retail price of just one Alter Ego Lipstick is $17, and the retail price of just one Alter Ego Lip Gloss is $16. So this set is a very nice value considering that $32 breaks down to $5.34 per lip color.

Here's a closer look at each shade:

Alter Ego Lip Gloss and Lipstick in the shade Ballerina

Alter Ego Lip Gloss and Lipstick in the shade Trophy Wife

Alter Ego Lip Gloss and Lipstick in the shade Entrepreneur

Also, NOT a value set, but I want to mention that there are also four new Kohl's-exclusive MATTE Alter Ego Lipstick shades now available HERE (and at select Kohl's locations). I just wanted to put that out there in case you have some extra Kohl's Cash to spend!

  1. Is it just me or besides the rose gold, the rest of the colors in this palette is like the Riesling one (also exclusive to Ulta). I think I am trying to convince myself that I don't need another brown nudes palette but this is so pretty!

    1. It's so hard to tell without having both palettes in front of me. Online swatches can make them look a certain way on different monitors, especially if they're all in the same color family. Sorry I can't talk you out of it. Lol!! ;)

  2. That rose is gorgeous, though. I actually might get this as a travel set. Very versatile colors, and small enough that I won't have to worry about breaking my bigger palettes. And I can actually use all four pieces, so it's a great value!

    1. Yes, I love a good travel palette too (especially when I can actually use all of the shades)! I love that liner so much--I reviewed it with one of the Holiday sets last year and I still reach for it constantly. ;)

    2. I tend to go the way of just not wearing makeup when I travel. ;) But I'm so in love with Lorac lately (seriously, far and away the BEST formula) that this quad will be a game-changer for me. If they ever get it online, that is!!

  3. To me, the eyeshadow swatches don't match the shadows shown in the very first palette at the top of the screen. In fact, the two palettes look different. I dunno, could be that I'm looking at this on my phone so it's appearing funky? Or are these two different palettes?

    1. Two different palettes. The kohls one is the one they swatch

    2. Actually, there is no Soft to Smokey palette at Kohl's--it's an Ulta-exclusive. I'm guessing that the first image is just a bit off because it was in a PDF whereas the images below that were high-res. I'm getting confirmation now though, just in case there are two different palettes floating around!

    3. UPDATE: I just spoke with LORAC's PR and they confirmed that the close-up image of this palette is a more true representation of the shades than the group-shot photo. The group shot is making the colors seem a bit warmer than they truly are. But just to confirm, there are NOT two different palettes out there. Just the one, and the close-up photo is most accurate. Hope that helps! :)

  4. Thanks, for sharing! I just ordered a new Lorac limited edition release from NORDSTROM (online). It was a eye/blush combo palette for $20. I love Lorac! Their eye shadows are the bomb♡

    1. Oh, if you mean The Getaway Palette (the one I posted about a few days ago) then yay! That looks gorgeous! :) Did you see my post before this one on the Nordstrom freebies to go along with your purchase? You have to spend at least $50 to get those, but still a nice extra if you're ordering other things!

  5. Have you seen any update on when this should get to Ulta?
