New Nordstrom Exclusive Limited Edition Mario Badescu Troubled Skin Solutions Value Set (with a Bonus Christmas Disaster Story)

I have a little "Christmas disaster" story to tell you.

You might recall that I mentioned here in a previous post that I bought the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion at Ulta for my brother ($17, 1.0 oz.) for Christmas, since he said he's been having some skin issues lately and I know that product works wonders for so many of you. Well the other day, he mentioned to me that he "did some research on Amazon" and ordered himself "this stuff called Drying Lotion from some dude named Mario Buh-Dis-Kee-Oh or something like that." Yeah. I know. I think he may have seen the look of disappointment on my face, but I tried to hide it.

ANYWAY, fast forward to today as I'm doing some last-minute Christmas shopping on the Nordstrom site (they're still offering free delivery by Christmas Eve today), and I see this new set:

Mario Badescu Nordstrom Exclusive Troubled Skin Solutions Set
($46 + free shipping; $75 value, ALL FULL-SIZED PRODUCTS)
Unveil clear, radiant skin right in time for the holidays with this limited-edition set by Mario Badescu, featuring best-selling, award-winning troubled skin solutions that help all skin types achieve and maintain flawless skin.
Set includes:
Acne Facial Cleanser (6 oz., $15 retail): a gentle yet powerful cleanser specially formulated with salicylic acid to effectively clarify oily, problematic skin. Twice daily, gently massage onto your face in circular motions, avoiding the eye area. Rinse with tepid water and pat dry. Follow with toner or astringent.
Oil Free Moisturizer SPF 30 (2 oz., $28 retail): a best-selling moisturizer designed to deliver essential hydration to skin while helping prevent post-acne marks without clogging pores. Apply to skin after cleansing and toning. If the product gets into your eyes, rinse well with water.
Drying Lotion (1 oz., $17 retail): the original medicine cabinet must-have for targeting surface blemishes overnight. Before bed after cleansing, toning and moisturizing, dip a cotton swab into the pink sediment at the bottom of the bottle. Apply a dab directly on the whitehead. Do not rub in. Let it dry and rinse off in the morning. Do not shake the bottle. If the contents get shaken during packaging and delivery, place the bottle on a flat surface until the layers separate and the pink sediment rests on the bottom.
Silver Powder (1 oz. $12): a unique, award-winning product for absorbing excess oil and drawing out blackheads. Once or twice a week, dip a water-dampened cotton ball into the powder and press on your nose, chin and congested areas on the face. Wait 10 minutes and wipe off with toner or astringent.
Nordstrom exclusive.
Limited edition.
Suitable for all skin types.

There are many other Mario Badescu sets available both at Ulta HERE and on the Mario Badescu site HERE, but this particular Nordstrom-exclusive set isn't just travel-sizes (like many of the sets out there). These are ALL full-sized products and adding up the retail prices, which I included above for you, this set truly would cost you $72 if you purchased these items individually (I think Nordstrom is giving the tote bag a value of $3).

I TOTALLY should have purchased this set for my brother, and now I'm thinking about keeping the Drying Lotion I bought earlier for myself, and buying him this one instead. Plus, from a purely greedy standpoint, I know he won't want the tote bag, which he'll give right back to me, and you also get three free beauty samples on the Nordstrom site and if I spend $4 more on beauty (easy to do by choosing something from the beauty sale page), I can get that free stocking with 22 beauty samples. So we both win!

Thanks for letting me work out my Christmas gifting issues with you here today! I hope this post helps you if you've been thinking about trying some Mario Badescu stuff (or need a gift for someone currently dealing with skin issues).

  1. I have been meaning to get the drying lotion to have on hand for occasional breakouts...I figured why not, cute tote, and also got the sample stocking (after adding a Nails Inc glitter I have been trying to get ahold of, not on sale, but that's ok)...

  2. Ha! I was just thinking 'no man will want that bag'! I wouldn't even give it to him, just get a box or even a Nordstrom mini shopping bag and wrap everything in tissue.
