NEW Kleenex Facial Care Line (Makeup Remover, Shine Sheets, Facial Wipes, and More)

Well this one certainly came out of left field! Did you know that Kleenex has quitely launched a new facial care line? Yep!

From WWD.com:
Talk about a soft landing. Kleenex, the Kimberly Clark-owned facial tissue brand, is quietly entering the skin-care category. The brand has developed five stockkeeping units focused on facial cleansing, including cleansing wipes, water-activated exfoliating cushions and eye-makeup-remover pads. After a test launch with a consumer focus group in August, the products officially became available for sale last month exclusively on kleenex.com/facialcleansing. As of now, no plans for brick-and-mortar entry have been announced, but Kleenex intends to roll out its facial-cleansing products to online retailers by Q2 of 2016 — though none have been determined yet. Until then, the focus is on a direct-sell approach. “We’re testing in a real environment in the digital space,” said Kleenex senior brand manager Eniko Olah. “We’re going to take what we learn and scale up.”

Here's a closer look at all five products:

Kleenex Cotton Soft Pads
"Softly textured to work with your favorite products"
(retail: $4.99 for 85 pads)

Kleenex Eye Makeup Removers
"Clean, refreshed eyes in just one step"
(retail: $7.99 for 60 pads; comes with a refillable dispenser)

Kleenex Shine-Away Sheets
"Removes shine, not makeup"
(retail: $4.99 for 50 sheets)

Kleenex Exfoliating Cushions
"Radiant, smoother skin with just one use"
(retail: $7.99 for 12 pads; comes with a refillable dispenser)

Note: these come with cleanser built into the pad, activated with water.

Kleenex Facial Cleansing Wipes
"Freshly washed clean in just one step"
(retail: $7.99 for 25 wipes; comes with a refillable dispenser)

  1. Wow! More expensive than Shiseido cotton.

    1. Actually, using full retail price for the Shiseido ($9.50 at Sephora), it works out to be almost identical:

      Shiseido: 165 for $9.50 = About $0.06 per pad
      Kleenex: 85 for $4.99 = About $0.06 per pad
(I rounded up for both calculations)

It looks like the Kleenex pads may be larger than the Shiseido pads (I didn't factor in weight in my equations above), but price-wise for the unit amount, they're both about $0.06 per pad.

Now whether or not the QUALITY of these is the same as the Shiseido, well that's a whole other story! :)

    2. Is the Shiseido cotton "all that"? I mean, you use it once and it goes in the trash. My Ralphs had their cotton rounds( 120 count) on clearance for .32. I bought all 16 packages of them so I'm set for awhile.

  5. I'm curious to try these. Not willing to purchase straight from their website though. I would rather get from amazon or a physical store. Guess I'll have to wait!

  6. I wish they would just do facial tissue that doesn't create lint... That would be great. I have to rely on paper towels rather than Kleenex facial tissues for anything makeup related because they releas a TON of dust-like particles.

  7. Intriguing. I'm not into the exfoliating pads, but if the other products are lint-free, I might be sold.

  8. I am way too excited about this!

  9. These look like fun! I'm not going to go out of my way to try them out right now, but if Kleenex releases them to retailers in store, I'd definitely pick a few up!

  10. Did you see an ingredient list for these anywhere? I'm been all over their website trying to see what their "gentle cleanser" is. These could be great if they're not chock-full of fragrance and harshness.

  11. I would definitely give them a whirl if they were available in stores. I don't think they are an important enough item for me to buy online, but will try them when I see them in person. I wonder if Kleenex has a social media department that follows a lot of blogs and reads what bloggers and their followers have to offer? Do a lot of beauty related companies do it?

  12. On one hand I'm sort of shrugging, and on the other hand, I'm thinking Kleenex's Cool Touch tissues have been a godsend during this nasty cold I've had for two weeks. They feel cool and sort of pillowy with their coconut oil and aloe. For the first time ever, my nose isn't red and dry and scaly after blowing my nose like crazy. If they can harness that power into skin care, I'm sold.

  13. For all the elegant, effective cleanser options made by reputable skincare companies, it's puzzling to me why anyone would trust their cleansing needs to a tissue company?!? What does Kleenex have to ADD to the cleanser marketplace? I'm not trusting my cleansing needs to Kleenex. That's what skincare lines are for.

  14. I hate to say it, but I'm intrigued enough to give this line a whirl. It does seem a tad pricey compared to other brands though.

  15. I've been looking for these in the Boston area in Target, CVS etc., No one has them yet. I think I'll just order from Kleenex. There is free shipping on $25+

  16. I got a free trial of the exfoliating cushions and I loved it. Sad to find out it'll only be for sale online!: ( I gave up using credit cards/ debit cards

  17. when i went to the website it offered me a survey and said I would get a $5 discount code for their website if I filled it out. I did the survey got the code and when i put it in during check out not only did the code remove the $5 shipping but it took $9.99 off the product total too! So I got the eye wipes and the shine removing wipes and only paid $5.34 total. not bad!
