Small Business Saturday: Plug Your Small Business Here!

I did this on Instagram last year and it was such a success, I thought I'd bring it over to the blog this year. In honor of Small Business Saturday, I want to give those of you with small businesses an opportunity to use my blog to plug your goods and services in front of thousands of readers.

If you have a privately-owned small business, please feel free to plug your business in the comments below! (I'm sure we all know the definition of "small business" but just to be clear, I will not approve comments if your business is owned by a corporation or you're a franchisee or direct/independent seller of goods/services manufactured or distributed by a third party, since those are not small businesses and that's what this day is about!)

Be sure to include:

1) Name of your business
2) Brief explanation of your business
3) Contact info (website address or location of business)
4) Why you think people should purchase your goods/service

Happy Small Business Saturday!

She deserves more business because she works so hard and puts time and love into every one of her cute creations. And they are majorly cute!

I started my shop because I love wearing studs but was having trouble finding cute, lightweight earrings in new colors and patterns that I've never seen before. So I started to make my own! My friends and family were interested in having heir own pairs and Olive Button was born.

  10. I'm plugging a small business I discovered on the Makeupalley fragrance board. It's CJ Scents, owned by Candace Jurko - Google will direct you to reviews of many of her perfumes. They are oils and eau de parfum, unique blends so you won't smell like everyone else and she has a way with yummy gourmand scents imo, especially vanilla, lemon and sandalwood. She blends everything by hand and her scents are very affordable. Link - http://www.cjscents.com. Not affiliated except as a happy customer, check it out!

I think it is extremely important to support small businesses because these are peoples lives, their careers, their dreams. 34. What a nice idea, G!

I make small jewelry pieces - - mostly minimalist metal designs that are easy to wear every day. My shop is http://CatherineMarissa.etsy.com . My most popular pieces at the moment are simple gold dot rings ( http://tinyurl.com/os4zqmb ) and initial rings ( http://tinyurl.com/qgdupvo ) , but I also package some sweet little studs for easy gift giving ( http://tinyurl.com/nw3pz7p ).

Why should people purchase my goods? Because they love simple jewelry and supporting a one woman show tinkering away at her jewelry bench. And because they're just awesome people that want to help me pay off my black friday makeup buying binge - ha! ;)

You can shop at www.etsy.com/strangerbirdvintage, and get updates on new listings and sales at facebook.com/strangerbirdvintage or twitter.com/thestrangerbird

I sell women's vintage clothing and accessories. I wear a lot of vintage and vintage-inspired clothing as well, and while I love retro fashions, my main reason for shopping vintage and encouraging everyone else to do so is because it is a sustainable way to dress yourself - you're basically "recycling" clothing! A lot of vintage clothing is much more durable and sturdy due to handmade techniques that were made to last, so it's a good investment as well. I particularly try to source plus-size vintage pieces for my shop.

  54. My husband and I have the Elkhorn Inn & Theatre www.elkhorninnwv.com , a 14-guest room historic inn in the really beautiful mountains of southern West Virginia! We're a Very small business- it's just the two of us! Our area has a lot of fun things to do here, including the best ATVing in the eastern USA, the best wild trout stream for fly-fishing, and best railfanning (train watching and photography) in the USA! And gorgeous leaf peeping, historic sites to visit, state parks for hiking, lakes, golf, festivals, etc. And my hubs is a Really fine chef, too! (He married a NYC "foodie"! LOL) We're 2 1/2 hours from Roanoke VA, & 6 hours from Wash. D.C. Would love if you'd check us out- and thank you for the opportunity to post our little inn here!

  55. Hey everyone! As much as I want to respond to each and every comment here, my comment form starts to get "stuck" and the comments don't load for some readers after they hit 200 (and we're already at 100). So because I want EVERY business to be seen here, I'm going to stop responding to each comment. But please know that I'm so excited to see such an array of great small businesses here, and I can't wait to check you all out!

    Thanks for sharing! xo

  57. Such a cool idea! I actually have two businesses: one is a homemade gourmet lollipop business,

    1) Name of your business
    2) Brief explanation of your business
    3) Contact info (website address or location of business)
    4) Why you think people should purchase your goods/service
and the other is a luxury jewelry shop on etsy. I'm disabled and trying to get disability so these are my only way to make money!

My jewelry shop can be found here: https://www.etsy.com/your/shops/tiggsandperse, and you can use coupon code HOLIDAY15 at checkout for 15% off of your order! I use high quality gems and materials and can also make custom orders!

My gourmet lollipop shop's info is here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/LuxePops/
Ask to join! I dry out my own fruit, spices, and herbs. You can get 6 small gourmet lollipops for $10, and I can ship throughout the US for $5!

I love to be creative but I also want to put out the best product possible! That's why I use high-quality materials in both of my shops :)

  67. I really like this idea.

My name is Heather and I am working on getting my name out as a painter. I paint a lot of portraits with bright eyecatching colors in acrylics and watercolors. I'm on Etsy at rabidwire.etsy.com, on Society6 selling prints at society6.com/rabidwire, and on Facebook for custom work at facebook.com/heatherddevoe. I work well, quickly, for a fair price, and I have never had a dissatisfied customer!

  68. My friend's boyfriend and his brothers JUST opened a local sandwich shop here in San Diego. They have their soft opening this week (ironically their first day was today! Small Business Saturday!) and their grand opening is scheduled for next weekend. They sell Vietnamese-fusion sandwiches with great appetizers and drinks. It's a good lunch spot, friendly service, and food that is made-to-order. You gotta check them out! :)
