The Lipstick League - week of 10.26.15

The Lipstick League Question of the Week

How do you change your facial skincare ritual for cooler months?

G's answer: Since I have ridiculously oily skin and live in a very mild climate zone (San Diego), not a heck of a lot changes for me during cooler months. Only because "cooler" here is, on average, about 60 degrees (as I write this, it's 90 degrees at 4:00PM in the afternoon on Halloween). In fact, I think my skincare changes more dramatically as the weather warms UP here in San Diego, since I feel like I need heavy-duty moisturization at night when the heat feels like it's turning my skin to leather during the day.

  1. I'll mainly apply oils more often, be more vigilant with the Palmer's face oil or some rosehip oil I have. I may go look for a super-moisturizing formula, too, to use once we turn the heat on regularly in Michigan, which really dries my skin out.

  2. I use more oil and very heavy moisturizers both body and face. With cold dry air and layers of clothing and the dry heat from the furnace my skin takes a real beating! I really really want to move from here.

  3. I add a facial oil and switch from the original Jergens lotion to the Shea butter one.
