New Make Up For Ever and Kat Von D Sightings at TJMaxx and Marshalls

Make Up For Ever Limited Edition Give in to Me Set
(retail: $79; TJMaxx price: $49.99)

I'm not a 50 Shades of Grey person but I AM a makeup person, so I'm pretty excited that reader @briixnna on Instagram just shared these pics of the MUFE limited edition Give in to Me set she spotted at TJMaxx recently. This set was $79 when it first came out, so that's a nice savings. If you haven't see the inside of this set, check out my pal Brooke's review HERE

Also, reader @lovely_moni_ on Instagram spotted Kat Von D Lock-It Foundation for SIX DOLLARS (retail: $35) at Marshalls this week. I have not yet received her permission to post her photo on my blog, but I did post it on my Instagram HERE if you'd like to see with your own eyes

I do not know exactly how many shades have been spotted other than the one in the photo, but some lovely Instagram followers mentioned in the comments on my pic that it appears to be only deeper shades. So if you're a WoC and you love this foundation, RUN to your local Marshalls, TJMaxx and/or Ross (all three retailers tend to carry the same things when it comes to makeup, if you catch them at the right time) and see if you can find these!

Have YOU spotted any great makeup deals at the discount stores lately? I would love it if you'd share with us in the comments below!

Thanks so much, @briixnna and @lovely_moni_, for the fantastic sightings!

  1. I bought that MUFE set when it first came out. The shades are beautiful. I could get you a picture of the inside if you'd like. Everything in it is full size. Its a steal!

  4. I wish my Marshalls carried stuff like this. A new one was just added to a shopping center in the town 10 min away from me but their beauty section was literally just 3 shelves of an end cap. Lol. All they had was some Laura Gellar Gilded Honey sets and butter london makeup. The rest was hair and body.

  5. I've been scavenging the Marshall's and TJMaxxeseses (how do I plural!) around me, seeing what new goodies I can find. There's barely any make up selection at all! I did see one of the W7 pallets recently. I think that was probably the highlight of my past few trips. Though, I did manage to snag some OPI liquid sand nail polish a couple weeks ago, my mom absolutely loves that stuff. Hopefully, I'll be able to find that MUFE set, I have a mighty need!

  6. I found a Lolita lipstick for $6 at my TJMax in Boston. But it was a smaller size than the usual Liquid Lipsticks that are sold in Sephora.

  10. I have quite literally NEVER found anything in TJ Maxx/Marshall's that I would purchase, makeup wise. There's always plenty of BellaPier and Elf stuff and most of that is all cracked up and ruined. Doesn't keep me from trying though. Maybe someday I'll get lucky...

  13. I agree, ask them what city these locations are in because mine are pretty lame... They typically have more hair & body items with some ruined elf,

  14. PLEASE GIVE LOCATIONS OF WHERE THESE GREAT PURCHASES COME FROM !!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  15. For all those saying what cities, I think it's more a timing issue rather than a location issue. It's more likely that someone spotted them before you got there. In my TJMaxx, they usually only get a couple of each item. If you're not there when the truck comes in and the shelves stocked, you'll be guaranteed to miss out. You also have to be very diligent in your search. Many times the item you're looking for will be behind other unrelated items or on a different shelf entirely. I've managed to get most of the deals mentioned on this blog (past and current) just by being diligent and persistent. I live in a small town in Oregon but have had the same success in Portland and San Diego. Happy hunting!! :)

  16. I have to echo what Rachel said above. It's definitely more about timing than anything else when it comes to these types of deals.

Also, I take the privacy of all readers extremely seriously. I will only include a location if it is provided and encouraged by the contributor to share.

I try to share sightings like this to give you an idea of what's out there. But please keep in mind that not all stores receive or put their shipments on the floor at the same time. By giving you a heads-up the moment I find out about a sighting, I think it increases your awareness and at least puts the item on your radar, so you can be on the lookout for it in the future, even if you don't find it immediately. I often get readers who tell me that they find the deals I've posted about weeks, or even months after my blog posts.

I hope this helps explain things a bit better, and thanks for your comments! :)

    1. Understood! Maybe we could get permission to use the region? (Northwest, Southwest, Midwest, and so on). Chances are these products would hit certain regional markets in the US.

  17. I found a good amount of these MUFE Fifty Shades sets at my local Marshalls just yesterday in Flushing, NYC. If live around here or are visiting for the World Series and are interested.

  18. One thing I noticed is that both Marshalls and TJMaxx seem to get lots of high end goodies right around holiday shopping season (which is the reason I am back here! I knew if there were sightings G would know it! lol) and you will find them all over the country. But, the rest of the year is hit or miss, someone might get something fabulous at their store in the south, and the rest of the country is s.o.l. and then there is a sighting out west for something else, and the rest of the country is s.o.l. again! It seems to go like that unless there is a ton of product to offload, like a brand is repackaging, or like when TheBalm was spotted everywhere, I think that was because they stopped selling at Sephora and anywhere else but Kohls, if I remember correctly.
