NEW Real Techniques Deep Cleansing Gel for Makeup Brushes

Thanks to reader Susan on Twitter for this tip! Check it out:

NEW Real Techniques Deep Cleansing Gel for Makeup Brushes
(retail: $9, 5.1 oz.)

It makes total sense that Real Techniques, known for its (awesome) brushes, would come out with a cleaner for their brushes, right?? This new Cleansing Gel is available now on the Real Techniques website (please note that if you order, your package won't ship until 8/20).

Keep reading for more info...

I would imagine that, eventually, this product will also be available at all of the usual retailers that carry Real Techniques (Ulta, Kohl's, Bed Bath & Beyond, etc. etc.). So keep in mind that you'll be able to use coupons/wait for sales to lower the price if/when it starts popping up in stores.

Designed for deep cleaning, with the cleansing power of a concentrate, this formula is laboratory proven to effectively remove nearly all makeup residue*. It removes what you see…and even impurities you can’t see for a new brush clean.
  • dermatologist tested for gentleness
  • no alcohol or phthalates
  • quick, clean rinse
  • tested safe for all Real Techniques brushes
Usage Directions:
  • Use weekly
  • Squeeze a drop of gel onto palm or textured surface
  • Add warm water to your chosen surface
  • Swirl bristles into gel and water
  • Rinse until clean. Careful not to immerse base of bristles
  • Reshape and dry flat or upside-down

So what do you think? Will you be giving this new brush cleaner a try? It would take a lot to convert me from my beloved Dr. Bronner's, but I'm always up for trying something new--and you know I love me some Real Techniques--so expect a review from me whenever I find this in-store!

Thanks again, Susan, for the great tip!

  1. I recently purchased Dr. Bronner's after looking at many blog reviews, including yours! :)

I'll be trying it out this weekend. I'm hoping it will be good for deep cleaning my kabuki brushes. Nothing seems to really pull out liquid foundation out of those except Cinema Secrets.

  2. I've had a travel sized dr. Bronner's' that I've been using for ages now( partly due to a less than ideal cleaning frequency) but I'm definitely curious about this.

  3. I find that Dr. Bronners is hard to wash completely out of my brushes. Even when heavily diluted. I have this problem especially with denser brushes.

    1. I have this problem too! I like the idea of Dr. Bronners but I don't think it's worth the hassle. I much prefer the beauty blender solid cleaner, that stuff rinses out SO well.

  4. I'm really glad they have made this and you are right, makes total sense. Do wish they'd create a daily use on that you run over tissue though for eye shadow brushes as can't find an affordable version.

  5. I have yet to try Dr. Bronner's however sephora's solid brush cleaner is freaking amazing! I can't say enough good things about it: it rinses fast, allows my brushes to dry fairly quickly, and leaves them super clean and fluffy! I'm obsessed tbh.

The only thing I need to find is a good daily spot cleaner. I meant, baby wipes are fine, but it would be nice to have something a bit more environmentally friendly.
