e.l.f. Ambient Palette Update

I have another e.l.f. Ambient Palette update for you today, and I'm afraid it's not good news. I've heard from several of you over the past 24 hours who have spoken with customer service reps at e.l.f., and apparently you all were told that e.l.f. does not know IF or WHEN the Ambient Palette will ever be back in stock. If you go to the e.l.f. site, you'll see that the Ambient Palette listing has been completely removed from their website, which doesn't seem like a good sign. I do want to remind everyone that this palette was listed as "limited edition" from the very beginning, so if it never does come back in stock, it will be like most other limited edition products out there--only around for a (very) limited time, never to be seen again.

Apologies to all of you who were anxiously awaiting (and checking the e.l.f. site) for this palette to come back. I didn't get one either, so you're definitely not alone.

If anything changes and I hear that it's coming back in stock, you'll be the first to know. And if any of you hear anything, as always, I would love to hear from you.

Thanks again to everyone who took the time to share this most recent update with us.

  1. I have a feeling that elf is going to burn a lot of bridges with this one. I understand if this was LE but a lot of people didn't even get it in their shipment even though it had shown up on their initial order confirmation. If something is this popular why don't they just manufacture more of them?

  2. After almost daily calls to a wonderful customer service rep at ELF, supposedly mine is on the way. IF it is, big IF, would you like swatches? Just in case?

    1. They said mine was "lost" in the mail and then finally came clean saying it was an error and they didn't have anymore

    2. I'm not sure mine WAS shipped, now. It was supposed to go Monday, but no record on the web of it shipping. If they screwed it up again, they lost my business. :(

  3. With a lot of their other "limited edition" products, they either bring them back in seasonal sets, or restock them (like they did with the baked shadow trios for example). I'm hopeful they will restock sometime in the future.

  4. I ordered mine right after you posted about it the first time and it never showed up. They refunded my money but it was very frustrating that this got screwed up on such a large scale for many people.

  5. I ordered one the first time, they charged me, said it shipped and 2 weeks later it wasn't here so I emailed them and they said there was an "error" and I wouldn't be getting it and they would it be getting anymore in the warehouse so they refunded my money.

  6. Wow they could do so much more business if they were to bring them back. I would think that would be a good thing for a company. More revenue. I barely saw it and I get their emails and it was gone. Maybe around the holidays they will. Those times always brings hope. But them they have more competition from ppl ordering some ppl ordering LE pallets and such that r for the holidays. I'm waiting on that and and a shadow pallet that was out of stock. This last order. I just got today from the half off sale. I did really good in that order. I also do their sub box of every eight weeks. But don't see it coming in that. That might upset alotnof ppl. But I would be happy. Not holding breath. Already showing the next one I think it is in their site I'm trying to collect as much as I can of Elf because I live it so much. And it's so hard to hold back and not order half of everything they have. But managed so far and my Walmart is getting better at carrying more. Already have seen the blush pallet I want there. Have been seeing a cpl videos in their contour pallet. I don't own any of the big name ones. But have the products to do it and City Colors three pan kit and Wetnwilds two pan compact. Which is a nice lite one especially for the day. I have a good chunk of the brush and I love them all. But it's for personal use. I'm not an artists using them on others. Just got the new one with short handle. Can't wait to use that one. I really like their products. I hope they don't get crazy and raise prices or not put out more new products. I'm hoping they r trying to build this company more. Which so far seems like it. Thanks so much for update. Hope we so see it again. Soon!!!

  7. ELF has honestly been doing HORRIBLE as a company and not something I will be supporting any longer. From there downhill customer service, to 'limited edition' releases to that they won't hold sales anymore to many others thing. Its disgusting to me!

    1. I agree. Their sales have really become suspect. They now have new product exclusions which really annoy me.

    2. I hate the "excludes new products" thing in their sales. I used to love their 40% off sales, until they made new exclusions.

    3. I'm with you Krystal and Kica. It's not a good time for ELF to piss off customers. Especially with some new discount lines out there. They'll be more than happy to sell to ELF's disgruntled former customers.

  8. This is a joke. They can make more. The only thing they're doing by making it "limited edition" is causing a Lorac Mega Pro-esque disaster. They obviously didn't have enough of them in stock.

  9. I am incredibly disappointed in how Elf is handling this. They repeatedly kept telling customers that they would receive more in a week or two then after that just removed it from their website. I have no idea how many oversells they had but i'm guessing quite a bit. I personally had to contact them to ask for a refund because they just never bothered. Instead of issuing any sort of apology or public statement they are just trying to clean it all up and hide it instead of dealing with their customers. Incredibly disappointing to say the least.

  10. Could this have possibly been a test method, as I haven't seen any vloggers or bloggers testing or duping comparisons to Hourglass. I would have loved to see that. Hopefully they will put this out as singles or quad of better quality than LE.

  11. While it sounds like it would have been really nice to have, I think it's a $6 makeup palette and everyone needs to chill.

    1. With all due respect, please do not instruct other people how to feel or "chill" as you put it. ELF's been in business long enough to know better and this current fiasco should not have happened. Ducks should have been in a row, all legalities checked, sufficient stock etc. etc. etc... it wasn't only the insufficient stock, but the lying to customers that put this over the top. I was one of the "it's in the mail" "oops! no it's not. Sorry (in actuality, they're sorry they were caught lying...again)" group and feel justified in being fed up with their shady business practices. I've also noticed they don't offer a discount, free product or shipping when they mess up. This is their third and final chance with me. I can live without their products, including their newest and greatest.

    2. I think anyone can live without the products regardless of the business practices and I also think it's not worth the angry energy people are expending on it.

  12. Has it occurred to anyone that it's likely Elf was screwed over by its supplier/manufacturer and might be in pain over it?

Sounds to me like they were strung out by a supplier and hoped (along with all of us) that someone would honor their contract. Could also be that the quality wasn't what they had spec'd.

They do a beautiful job, people -- try to see if from their side. They're not in business to disappoint you.

  13. Also possible that the other company that sells 'Ambient' $tuff took exception to the name, lawyered up and called Elf. We might see the palette again with a different name. That would be a superfun scenario -- the $60 palette people bullying the $6 palette good guys. Love you, Elf.

  14. I have this. I ordered it and it arrived with no problems. I really feel like most of you who feel letdown over not getting it, would be letdown once you got it and used it. It's a nice highlight palette, but not the soft focus effect like the Hourglass palette gives. If I try to use it outside of my cheekbones it looks like I set my foundation with a highlighter. Maybe when I see more reviews I'll learn a better technique with it, but for now it goes in the closet of misfit toys.

  15. I got mine! Today! I will try to get some pictures and swatches to send in. My ELF rep didn't know if they were coming back, either. :(

  16. I will NOT place another order until they bring this back! :(
