The Lipstick League - Week of 6.8.15

The Lipstick League Question of the Week

As we officially move into summer in the Northern Hemisphere, share with us one beauty must-have for the warmer months ahead.

G's answer: As someone who lives in a warm climate and who also doesn't have A/C in her home, I can't recommend enough putting some of your sprayable beauty products in the fridge when the weather heats up. I like to put my favorite body mists in the fridge during the summer, so that I can have a cool treat while I'm makin' myself smell all purty. Also, facial mists and even just plain ol' water in a spray bottle are great to keep in the fridge for a refreshing, quick cool-down. (And when it's REALLY hot, stand in front of your fan as you mist yourself. Aaaaah.)

  1. Omg G! I've never been to California but I've heard summers there are much like here in Dallas Texas, VERY HOT! I could not survive without AC. Ur one awesomely tough woman!

  2. Some Summer beauty must-haves for me would include Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream, Coty Airspun Loose Powder, Garnier Gel Moisturizer, L'oreal Makeup Extender Spray, Yves Rocher Grapefruit Facial Spray, Formula X Nail Polish in Power Source and Essence of Beauty Body Mist in Rose Enchantment.

  3. I'm spoiled on central air and I loathe the heat and sweat a lot if it's muggy or the sun is too intense. I usually just try and do as little as possible and use a good concealer, mascara and matte lipstick or lip tint if it's too bad out. I used to try with my hair, but now I just spray it with water and conditioner or some sea salt spray and knot it or clip it. (Working from home or at a coffee shop helps, too.) If I put too much makeup on in summer I just end up looking like that melty-faced Nazi in Raiders of the Lost Ark.

  4. I wouldn't be able to survive without any AC. We have central AC but it's not the greatest, plus my fiancé's parents keep it higher than any sane person should so we have a portable AC in our bedroom. But even with it, on really hot sunny days if the whole house is too hot then our portable AC struggles. So I've been using ice packs to help keep me cool. That's not a beauty must have.... But ice packs are a must. Lol.

  5. Oil blotting papers. And Clinique sunscreen for the face.
