Free Shipping On All Orders Today Only at e.l.f. (Plus, an Update on the Ambient Palette...)


Today only (6/30) on the e.l.f. website, receive free shipping on all orders, no minimum required, with code NOMINSHIP at checkout. 

And about that Ambient Palette...

So if you were one of the lucky ones who ordered the limited edition Ambient Palette when I posted about it (before it sold out), and actually received it in the mail this week, CONGRATS and you need not read the rest of this blog post!

But if you were one of the unlucky ones who ordered and did NOT get it, I have a few pieces of info for you. 

1) e.l.f. is issuing full refunds if you ordered and did not receive the Ambient Palette with your order. Apparently there was a glitch and these refunds may not be happening as quickly as they should be right now. BUT, you WILL receive a full refund if you did not get the Ambient Palette in your order. If you don't see it in your bank or PayPal records, all you have to do is call (212) 239-1530 (between 9AM and 6PM EST weekdays) and provide them with your order number (located at the top of your order confirmation email) and you will receive a full refund if the Ambient Palette did not ship to you.

2) I have heard from several readers (I'm talking over 50 of you) who have been told by e.l.f. customer service that the Ambient Palette will be restocked in two weeks. I have also heard that there will be plenty to go around when the palette is restocked on their website. So I suggest that you sign up for a "back in stock" email notification HERE (click the "add to cart" button for the box to appear for you to enter your email address). I will of course post here on my blog the minute I get word that it's back in stock as well.

3) I personally ordered (very early in the day) when the Ambient Palette was still available, but I did not receive it. So if you ordered early and didn't receive it either, you are certainly not alone. Hopefully we'll all have a good chance at getting it when it's back in stock in two weeks.

  2. Thanks so much for the info! I also did not receive it, but I just really hope there's some kind of free shipping offer when I order it again because I don't want to pay the shipping.... That made it for me the first time around.

  3. Did anyone get a shipping email but the tracking has been sitting on "shipping label created" since last week? That's what happened to me and I'm wondering if that means there is actually no palette to ship to me, haha.

    1. I am wondering that too. I have signed up My USPS so I can see all my incoming packages and it is still showing as label created since I ordered it.

      Although completely unrelated, I ordered an item from a different company that shipped and was still showing in Colorado and today it showed up at my house. So maybe they haven't scanned it in awhile?

      I find it strange they would create a shipping label for an item that is sold out...hope that isn't the case!

    2. Same here. My order said "shipping label created" but hasn't changed again. That was June 25th. I really really hope I get it in the mail this week. I don't really want to reorder

  6. Wow. This is quite a mess they've created. I feel extremely lucky now. I ordered this and actually received it! What a bummer for everyone who thought they were getting it and then receiving their package only to find it not in there. They need to seriously rectify this situation with a free shipping offer or even some type of coupon/gift card. The funny thing for me was my package was put in the wrong mailbox. My neighbor brought it over to me Sunday. I tore that thing open and sighed with relief when I saw the palette in there. I really was surprised I got it after reading about everyone else not getting it. At any rate, the palette is quite nice, imo. It is not the same consistency as the Hourglass one, as it does kick up quite a bit of product. But I like all the colors in the elf one. And for the money, it is a nice alternative to the Hourglass one.

    1. Thanks for the mini-review! I had just placed an order like the DAY before this came out, boo! I want it but will wait for restock. Man, what a mess, kinda glad I wasn't able to get it now because I'd be one of those who expected to get it if the order went through.

      I had my own (unrelated) shipping mishap with them.... They didn't ship a concealer I ordered which was in stock. Emailed them, got an apology, 5$ coupon code for next order and a reship of the concealer for free. Got the package two days later (oddly, got to me WAY faster than the original order!) but alas, no concealer! Just a packing slip in an empty but sealed padded envelope. Emailed again, same thing: apology, 5$ coupon, reship. This time it took a little longer but finally arrived. I swear all the shipping costs were more than the $3 concealer after all was said and done LOL! They were very responsive and took care of it though no questions asked so hopefully the same goes for this Ambient fiasco!

    2. Oh, the missing concealer of mine WAS listed on the packing slip in the original order btw, just not in the box and not marked OOS at time of shipping either. I think they just forgot to put it in the box. Granted, I did order a lot at once so I am now VERY careful to check the packing slips vs whats actually in the box! I know this a 'duh' kind of thing but had I not noticed and/or notified them immediately I wonder if things would have turned out differently, especially with them ' forgetting' the 2nd time too. That was the strange/funny part, it was the only thing being sent so how did they miss it again!?!

  7. So I wanted to update my situation: ordered the product, next day received a shipping confirmation. Thus far USPS tracking has said shipping label created with no update since 6/24...

    E-mailed them today and received a refund. I am pretty frustrated with e.l.f. for over-selling a product, then making a shipping label so I get a shipping confirmation, then being told oh wait, sorry you actually aren't getting the product. I would be slightly more understanding if after ordering my order was cancelled (it happens, I know) but to create a shipping label for said order seems silly/ridiculous...The e-mail I response I received was some silly canned response along the lines of "sorry an item was missing from your order." LOL.

    I will never purchase from e.l.f. again. I will always buy from and be a repeat customer with companies that have great customer service and handle issues such as this with a little bit more communication. I worry if I didn't e-mail them I would have never received a refund.

    1. I had the exact same thing happen to me. I happened to e-mail them to ask them about the status of my palette (which is the only item I ordered) and they sent a generic copy & paste e-mail and refunded my money. I replied back and told them I was hesitant to shop with them in the future. No response to that e-mail yet, though!

    2. Yeah, I was a little more harsh in my response back and they didn't reply. I mean oh well, it is just makeup...but it was more the principal of the matter. I felt it wasn't handled too well and it is kind of strange to leave customers hanging like that..I mean it was over a week and here I am sitting waiting for it to show up in my mailbox!

      It was the only item I had ordered as well, so the response saying sorry an item was missing made me laugh since that one item was the entire order!
