Breaking Beauty News: P2 Cosmetics Coming to the US and Canada?

I have very exciting drugstore makeup news for you today!

Limited Edition Loose Pigments from P2 Cosmetics

If you're unfamiliar with P2 Cosmetics, they are an extremely popular German drugstore brand that makes cosmetics, nail polish and even skincare products. And it looks like they just might be headed to the US and Canada!

Keep reading for the scoop...

I just read on Happi.com today that Maesa Group (owners of Flower Beauty and Circa Beauty) has just purchased P2 Cosmetics, and it looks like they plan to bring the brand to the US and Canada. I don't know when this will happen, or which retailer(s) will carry the brand, but here's the article from Happi.com:

Maesa Group has completed its acquisition of P2 Cosmetics, one of Europe’s leading beauty brands, sold exclusively at DM, Germany’s largest drugstore retailer.
"P2 Cosmetics has a proven track record of bringing innovation to the cosmetic category," said Gregory Mager, Founder and CEO of Maesa Group. “This brand has piqued a strong interest for expansion in the US and Canada through an exclusive distribution model. I am excited for one of the most successful exclusive beauty brands in the world to join Maesa Group, and I look forward to continuing to grow the partnership with DM.”
Founded in 2004 as a division of Austrian lingerie retailer Palmers Textil, P2 Cosmetics has become a mainstay in the German beauty industry, known for its extensive product portfolio. P2 Cosmetics products feature high quality formulas available at an affordable entry price point, with an average retail price of €2.75 per product, according to Maesa. The line of more than 350 SKUs is sold in 1,800 DM stores across Germany.
P2 Cosmetics will continue to operate out of Vienna under the brand’s current leadership team, according to Maesa, which is the engine behind Flower for Walmart, Circa for Walgreens and Elle for Monoprix.

As the article above mentions, P2 has a rather extensive product line, with both permanent and limited edition collections. Just their nail polish offerings alone take up two whole pages on their website (and that's not including treatments and tools). You can check out all of their eyeshadows here, their lip colors here, their blushes here and their bronzers here. But of course they also have mascaras, eyeliners, foundations, concealers, etc., and they even have skincare. You can take a look at all of their products (permanent and limited edition) HERE.

As I was scrolling through the #P2 and #P2cosmetics hashtags on Instagram earlier today, I saw these new, limited edition heart-shaped blushes. How cute are they? I really hope that when this brand hits the US, we also get the limited edition collections (as most of you know, sometimes European brands don't offer their limited edition collections in US drugstores, so I hope that's not the case with P2).

Are you already acquainted with P2? If so, do you own any products from this brand? Are you excited to see them make their way to the US?

  1. I've never heard of this brand but you had me at German cosmetics! As we all know, any eyeliner made in Germany is always fantastic, so I can only imagine everything else they make is equally as fantastic.

  4. I'm originally from Germany and I just spend the last two years here in the states as an exchange program and I'm going back in 10 weeks. It is true P2 is an absolutly amazing make up brand! I own several products of them and those heart shaped blushed are actually dupes for the too faced sweetheart blushes! My friends bought me some and compared them to the too faced ones and said they're super similar! I can't wait to go home and do a huge shopping trip to DM and buy some of all the new make up products I missed out on while I was here lol

  6. Hello from Germany. p2 mascaras are absolutely terrible. Don't even bother. The nail polish is good, but their nail nardener doesn't do a damn thing. Foundations and concealers are alright, but nothing I'd recommend. What you definitely need are their highlighters ('glow up', there are 3 different shades to choose from). And you need ALL of them! They are sooo good!! I can't even describe how beautiful they are. Really outstanding quality. Their new nude palettes have gorgeous shades in them and great pigmentation. I also really like their single eyeshadows. They have really nice glowy blushes too, and fabulous eye pencils. Their original lipstick line (Pure Color) is very creamy and has rather disappointing wear time (due to the creaminess), however their 'Sheer Glam' line is rather popular (nice and glossy, though you have to reapply those pretty frequently). I really like their 'vinyl' lip gloss line because it's a nice formula that's on the thicker (thus shinier) side and doensn't smell or taste terrible. However, I've never heard of p2 skin care. They have hand cream, but other than that?

  7. Ohh and their felt tip liner is beyond terrible, but you should try their liquid liners.
