The Simple Multi-Benefit Cleansing Oil Has (Finally!) Landed

It's here! It's here! Remember way back in January of 2014 when I posted a sneak peek at the new Simple cleansing oil? Well the release date got pushed from January 2014 to May 2014, but then May 2014 came and went and...nothing. I don't know why it took another year for this one to hit stores, but who cares because it's finally here!

Simple Multi-Benefit Cleansing Oil
(retail: $9.99 at Harmon, 4.5 oz.)

Many thanks to reader @macgl0sschick on Instagram for this one! She spotted (and purchased) this cleansing oil at her local Harmon (subsidiary of Bed Bath & Beyond) recently and kindly shared lots of pics with us.

Keep reading for more pics, ingredients, etc....

As you can see, the main ingredient in this cleansing oil is cottonseed oil. I'm very intrigued by this because, as you probably know, the main ingredient in many cleansing oils, such as the Garnier cleansing oil, is mineral oil (same goes for Shu Uemura, Laura Mercier and countless others). The main ingredient in my favorite cleansing oil to date (DHC cleansing oil) is olive oil and the same goes for the Eclos cleansing oil, which I also like quite a bit. I'm trying to think of another cleansing oil that boasts cottonseed oil as its main ingredient, but I'm drawing a blank. Can any of you think of one? I was thinking that maybe The Body Shop's cleansing oil contained cottonseed oil but I just checked my review and nope, no cottonseed oil there.

If you have seen this new cleansing oil in any stores in your area, I would absolutely love to hear from you. For now, if you're interested in trying this one, check your local Bed Bath & Beyond stores with a Harmon Beauty inside (or Harmon Face Values or Christmas Tree Shops, which are both subsidiaries of BBB).

Thanks again, @macgl0sschick, for the great news (and pics)!

  1. I am so excited for this! I have really liked all the Simple skincare I've tried, and I haaate fragrance in skincare (so the Garnier cleansing oil didn't work for me). Yay for drugstore cleansing oils!

  2. Oooh, between this and the Covergirl Stay Radiant foundation, I think I have to go by BB&B after work. I love the Eclos cleansing oil, but I can only ever find it at Ulta, and it's often out... this one has way fewer random, potentially irritating extracts and oils than the Eclos, too.

  6. I have two cleansing oils, and I am afraid of getting more in case they all work the same and feel redundant. I have Josie Maran and Lancôme (both on sale or through a deal). Lancome smells great, JM has no fragrance. As I use them both I see differences in breakdown of makeup, ease of rinse (emulsification), scent, color, how it stays in my eyes after it's off, and how they come out of the bottle. The only real similarity is their texture and the feel of my skin after I pat dry.

  7. This is very intriguing but I've heard a lot of negative things about cottonseed oil due to the high amount of pesticides used on the plants when growing. It is apparently extremely chemically saturated-- just something to think about and perhaps research.

    1. In this post, I link to my DHC cleansing oil review. Please give that a read, because I go into detail there about using cleansing oils on oily skin (I have oily skin). Thanks, and I hope that helps!

  10. my skincare is exclusively Simple. I love everything in their line and am glad I finally found something that doesn't irritate my skin, is fragrance free etc. after YEARS of hunting. I am a happy lady, and look forward to trying this out!

  11. I'm willing to give this a try. I always use coconut or olive oil to remove my makeup anyway and I liked the micellar water too. I hope I find it soon

  12. Cottonseed oil is not very good for acne-prone skin, it's pretty comedogenic. It's one of the main ingredients in Smith's rosebud lip balm! I love the site cosDNA for looking up products - it will show you the comedogenic/irritant rating of each ingredient in the product! Of course some people may be fine using this. I'm still so disappointed with the Simple Micellar Water, it's just collecting dust on my shelf. It doesn't do a much better job than plain water in my experience... ugh >_<
