Update Regarding the Ulta Deal on Maybelline Mascara This Week

If you caught my post from earlier today, then you know that several drugstore makeup brands are 40% off at Ulta in-store and online now through 4/18.

Here's a quick scenario to illustrate how you can maximize your savings using coupons if you're planning to take advantage of this sale in-store this week...

Please note that this scenario has been updated based on some new info that I received from reader Melissa on Facebook (thanks so much for the tips, Melissa!).

Right now on the Coupons.com website, there's a printable coupon for $2 off ANY Maybelline mascara. Ulta accepts manufacturer's coupons in-store, and you can stack them with their store coupons (there's a $3.50 off $10 coupon HERE that you can use either in-store or online).

Scenario:

Buy 3 Lash Sensational Mascaras (regularly $8.99, on sale for $5.39 this week).
Sub-total: $16.17 after 40% off discount

Use printable $2 off Maybelline mascara coupon
Sub-total: $14.17

Use Ulta $3.50 off $10 coupon
Grand Total: $10.67 for 3 tubes of Lash Sensational ($3.55 per tube)

NOTE 1: Reader Melissa informed me that Ulta automatically deducts the manufacturer's coupon FIRST, regardless of how you present the coupons at the register. So your total must be at least $10 AFTER you subtract the manufacturer's coupon, or you will not be able to use the Ulta $3.50 off $10 coupon.

NOTE 2: You do not have to buy Lash Sensational Mascara to take advantage of this deal. I just used Lash Sensational for this scenario, but you could of course mix and match with other formulas.

PS: Here's a helpful link in case you run into any problems trying to stack coupons this week. Ulta DOES accept both manufacturer's coupons and Ulta store coupons in the same transaction.

Hope that helps!

  1. Ulta coupon gets taken off AFTER all manufacturer's coupons.

  2. Why not use three $2 coupons, one for each mascara?

    1. Yoy definitely could, but you just need to make sure that your subtotal is still at least $10 after that, or you won't be able to stack the Ulta coupon. :)

  3. Couldn't we buy just one mascara and then mix and match other 40% off products? Since the coupon only applies to one tube anyway.

  5. Thank you for noting that it has to be $10 after all manufacturers coupons. As an Ulta employee nothing is more frustrating than when a customer tries to haggle the price. There is nothing we can do!

  6. I would call your ULTA and see if they will take printed manufacturer coupons (like for maybelline, Revlon, etc). Some will, some won't.

  7. Does anyone know if Ulta stores have any of the Maybelline Rebel Bloom color tattoos?
