Spotted: NEW Bonita Colors Velvet Lip Creams

Did you know that Bonita Colors (maker of pretty nail polishes) is getting into the cosmetics game? I sure didn't! Thanks so much to may pal Emi of Project Swatch for this one. Emi spotted this display at her local Rite Aid today and let me steal it from her Instagram to share with you:

NEW Bonita Colors Velvet Lip Creams
(retail: $2.99 each at Rite Aid)

As you can see, these are described as "A new innovative formula that applies like a lip gloss, dries to a rich matte color, and is as long lasting as a stain." You can't beat that price, right?

As luck would have it, I noticed that just a few hours ago, Bonita Colors posted a LIP SWATCH VIDEO HERE with swatches of all six shades in this range (if you don't have Instagram, you can still view this video--just wait for the "play" icon to pop up). If you don't have a Rite Aid in your area, Bonita Colors mentioned that these new lip colors will also be available via their website starting next week.

I for one can never get enough matte lip colors, so I'm pretty excited about these. How about you?

Thanks again, Emi, for letting me share you pic here!

  1. After I saw Emi's post in Instagram I went to Rite Aid and picked them all up. I'm really liking it so far. I just wanted to mention I've only worn hot damn! And it bleeds on my lip lines, Otherwise it's perfect.

  2. I got a couple of them too. I found them to not really dry matte, they always stayed kinda creamy on me. They also had a kinda plastic scent to them that I'm not fond of. So far they are ok for the price, but nothing to write home about.

    1. I've seen Bonita polishes (which are fantastic btw) at Kmart so possibly they may get the lippies.

  4. I wonder if these will come Kmart since they carry the Bonita nail polish. My Kmart cosmetics department is a complete disaster. It looks like Fred Sanford manages it! They've gotten rid of the WnW/Fergie products, etc. it's awful. Maybe they'll bring in some new products to fill these gaping holes.

  7. I got the hot pink and darker magenta/fuchsia colours, and THEY ARE SO GORGEOUS. UGH. They're neon and extraordinarily pigmented and wonderfully light-weight and I adore them so far <3
They also smell like tinsel, which I despise the scent of, but the bright colour pay off is worth it for me. They don't dry down to a matte (at least for the first hour or so), but one can easily blot them off with a tissue and still be left with completely opaque colour on the lips! I kind of want them all now hahaha

  8. I found these on clearance at Kmart in August (five months after your post here). I searched for your info on them. I have tried two of the six and got the whole collection. Color payoff is great. Even after brushing my teeth. They have a residual oily feel after application that dissipates as you allow it to dry (before kissing someone or drinking coffee). I haven't tried blotting with tissue but maybe that will help. Very close in texture and performance to Milani Lip Intense Liquid Color.
