Review: Wet n Wild Fergie Centerstage To Reflect Shimmer Palette in Hollywood Boulevard (New for 2015)

I'm working my way through the new-for-2015 Wet n Wild products that I received for review, and today I'd like to show you the newest addition to the Fergie To Reflect Shimmer Palettes. I really enjoyed the new Fergie Centerstage Blushes (click here if you missed my review), so I was hoping to be equally impressed by this new shade in the To Reflect line. Let's take a look!

Wet n Wild Fergie Centerstage To Reflect Shimmer Palette in Hollywood Boulevard
(retail: $5.99, 0.4 oz)

Keep reading for my full review...

The To Reflect Shimmer Palettes are available at Walgreens, Walmart, Drugstore.com and I think I've also seen them at Target (if your Target carries Wet n Wild). In case you missed my previous post about this, the shade Carnival in Rio has been discontinued and is being replaced with Hollywood Boulevard. So the three permanent shades in this line are now Rose Golden Goddess, Rose Champagne Glow and Hollywood Boulevard. You may still be able to find Carnival in Rio in your area if your local drugstores have not yet reset their WnW displays to accommodate the new 2015 products, so you might want to stock up in case that's a favorite of yours, since it is going away.

Made in China

As always, these compacts come with a safety seal.

The powder itself is slightly raised.

The above photo was taken in lower lighting so that you can better see the shimmer running through this powder.

As you can see, this is a shimmery neutral champagne highlighter. There is not much warmth here, although the pink veining that runs throughout this powder does provide an ever-so-slight hint of warmth when the light catches my face just so. But other than that, this is a definitely a color that I would consider neutral, making it an easy shade to wear for both warm and cool skintones.

Long story short, I LOVE this powder. I've been wearing it non-stop for the past few weeks because it's just so easy to use, and I love the glow it gives my skin. The pigmentation is fantastic for a highlighter, and the texture is quite creamy for a powder. It's finely milled, easy to apply and easy to blend. Just a light swirl with my stippling brush is all I need for my upper cheekbones, and I also like to apply this to my forehead and temples for an extra bit of glow.

As you can see, this is a very shimmery highlighter but, because of the color, it doesn't come off as frosty or over-the-top on my skin. I can absolutely see this working on both fair and deep skintones, depending on how much you apply. But regardless of your skintone, I don't think you'll require a lot of product here--the pigmentation and shimmer levels are so good, there's no need to build for more intensity.

Staying power is quite good on my oily skin--I can easily get 4-5 hours of wear (that's good for me when it comes to highlighters) before I notice some slight fading.

I do want to mention that there is a bit of sparkle in this powder, but it's not what I would call a glitterbomb. Most of the sparkle seems to fall away when you're blending, and really just the shimmer is visible after blending. And as with the other To Reflect palettes, there's no fragrance to this powder--it smells like unscented powder to me, if that makes sense.

FINAL VERDICT: I think Wet n Wild gave us the perfect addition to the To Reflect Shimmer Palette line. Considering that the other two shades in this range are light pink (Rose Champagne Glow) and coppery rose-gold (Rose Golden Glow), Hollywood Boulevard seems to fill the void for those who are looking for a highlighter with less warmth. This is a lovely color that's easy to wear and the pigmentation is fantastic. Yes, it's very shimmery, but it doesn't look frosty or chunky--it's just right, if you ask me, and I can see it working very well with just about every skintone. I say give it a shot!

Do you own any of the Fergie To Reflect Shimmer Palettes? If so, what are your favorites? Have you already purchased Hollywood Boulevard? Do you agree with my assessment?

  1. I have this one and the pink one. I like them both, but this one is my favorite! I'm thinking of picking up the rose gold one to use more as a blush

  2. I've debated if I need this one. I think after reading this, I will grab it next time I see it. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Are you going to be reviewing the WnW contour palettes? I have the lighter one and an write impressed with it. I think you're readers would love to hear about it (especially considering how trendy contouring is and that it is the best priced contour product I've found that is a good product) Love your blog!

  5. I hate these shimmer palettes. The highlight is hard to build on the face and it wears off within an hour. Not a fan but glad you liked it.
